Ring Of Honor
Live From St. Paul, Minnesota
April 27, 2007

The show opened with a Shimmer attraction match featuring the Minnesota Home Wrecking Crew of Rain and Lacey defeating Allison Danger and Sara Del Rey. Much better match that I expected. Del Rey is huge.

Next was an unscheduled do or die match featuring R. Titus taking on a guy that looked like a mix between Matt Hardy and Rhino He was quickly dubbed 'Fat Matt Hardy' by the crowd. They went back and forth a while when out runs Jimmy Rave. This was a big surprise as his jaw was broken recently and he wasn't scheduled to be back for a month. Jimmy takes out Titus and makes him tap.

He gets on the microphone says sitting at home just made him angrier and says he will take it out the Fat Matt Hardy first. Which is exactly what he did winning by submission to get a 'welcome back' chant.

Shingo was out next to take on BJ Whitmer. This one was incredibly stiff and had some good slams. Shingo got some momentum for his ROH world title shot by winning with a power bomb variation.

The fourth match was an ultimate endurance featuring the Briscoes, Pelle Primeau (Who can't be more than five feet tall) and Mitch Franklin, and in their ROH debuts Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw, and finally Gran Akuma and Hallowicked. The first fall was by submission. Most of the first fall was Pelle and Mitch getting trashed by Mike and Jigsaw. One of the Briscoes got the submission on Pelle. The second fall was a tag team no tags needed scramble match. This segment was fast paced and full of moves that gave me more respect for the Chikara Wrestle Factory. Another Briscoe got the pin on Gran Akuma. Finally the last fall was a normal tag title match. Jigsaw at one point gave a dropkick off the top rope to both Briscoes landing on his head. He quickly took off the bottom of his mask trying to get more air. He rolled out of the ring and had to be helped back after the match. Soon after the Briscoes finished off Mike to retain the titles.

Out next was Adam Pearce and Brent Albright with Shane Hagadorn followed by Colt Cabana and Homicide for Colt's second to last match. This one was anything goes rules and it was crazy all over the place. In the first minute all of them were in the crowd. The entire A section and most of the D area got trashed. There was two big rings of people in the arena as Homicide took on Shane and Adam while on the other side Colt faced Brent. I was in the Homicide ring and there was lots of chairs and garbage cans used. Eventually things got back toward the ring and I heard someone got put through a table. In the ring more chairs were brought out and Homicide got a ladder. Adam and Brent dragged a chunk of the metal barrier and put it in the corner. Homicide got slammed into it head first and was knocked silly and was knocked silly while Colt got rolled up. Lots of chants about the ending. Homicide grabbed Shane and gave a sick Cop Killa as Colt waved his last goodbyes.

After the intermission was Jack Evans vs. Delirious vs. Erick Stevens vs. Rocky Romero. This one was hilarious with the antics of Delirious feeding into Jack and Erick. Rocky played the heel role well. He got the win off a release German suplex on Jack that had a sick landing. After words Delirious and the ref gave Jack watter witch Jack threw up all over the place.

For the FIP Heavyweight title was Roderick Strong vs. Christopher Daniels who was donning his TNA beard and paint. This match stared out slow and started picking up steam. There were some hard hitting out of ring brawling sessions one of which ending with Chris getting counted out and Strong retaining his title. I was really disappointed in this one.

The main event for the ROH World title saw the Midwest's own mega face Austin Aries vs. Takeshi Morishima. Morishima is a big guy, in both height and waist size. The first 15 minutes was all Austin selling it all and making Morishima look like a million bucks. Austin started the classic baby face fights back that climaxed with a 450 splash. Austin went for the pin and the ref counted one, two, thre-, he pointed to the big mans foot on the rope. His had though had hit the mat the third time before he pointed to the foot giving the impression of a three count meaning the crowd went bananas thinking Austin would be starting his second reign. Let's just say as the match continued Todd Sinclair (The Referee) got some chants not appropriate for this site. Morishima got right back on the squashing and won with a big back drop. With this match people either loved it or thought it was a crappy 25 minute main event. I personally enjoyed it.

In the end this was a good show. I would personally even go and say that this event was better than last time ROH was in Minnesota last August even topping it's hour time draw McGuinness and Danielson hour time draw main event.
