On April 24th, Wrestling Weekly hosts Doc Young and Les Thatcher were joined by former WWE writer ’Irish’ Pete Doyle for ‘Hot Topic’ and IWA-Mid South and WSX‘s, Josh Abercrombie. Wrestling Weekly airs every Tuesday at 8pm Eastern at www.wrestlingweekly.com.

‘Irish’ Pete Doyle joined Doc & Les for this week’s “Hot Topic", which is an interesting discussion about the latest situation regarding WWE’s Randy Orton.

Doc and Les were joined this week by Wrestling Society X and Independent wrestler, Josh Abercrombie. The interview begins when Doc states that Josh is now back to using “Josh Abercrombie" as he wrestled under the name, Josh ‘Jug’ Raymond for WSX. Les mentions that WSX has benefited Josh Abercrombie’s career on the independents and he’s been getting more bookings. Josh notes that everything has been “really good" and that he’s been recognised in public for one of the first times. Abercrombie then tells a story about being recognised in a restaurant and wrestling for Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). Josh discusses wrestling in Mexico in detail and that he “kinda liked it, it was different“ and it was an “interesting experience“. Les mentions that Josh coaches high school wrestling and asks if his students have watched Wrestling Society X. Josh Abercrombie replies by highlighting that a lot of the kids he coaches are big time wrestling fans and either want to be a wrestler or know he’s a wrestler. Josh talks about the next day after he lost to M-Dogg-20 and Teddy Hart on WSX and the students reactions. He goes onto discuss that he’s in his fifth year of coaching and discusses his wrestling teams performance.

Doc highlights that Josh Abercrombie debuted in 2003 and won his match against Ian Rotten for IWA-Mid South in 2005. Josh talks about getting into professional wrestling and being trained at fifteen in Grand Rapids. Abercrombie mentions he was going to go to Les Thatcher’s HWA once he graduated. Josh continues by discussing his career in detail, noting he had his first match in March 2003 and met Jimmy Jacobs at a show and that he helped him out a lot. Doc says that Josh Abercrombie and Jimmy Jacobs have teamed up quite often and that WSX put them with two different wrestlers. Josh notes he has tagged with and against the guys which Doc was referring to and it was a different experience for him. Abercrombie then discusses tagging with Jimmy and wrestling against him. He continues by talking about tagging with Jimmy Jacobs against Madman Pondo and Necro Butcher for JCW. Doc asks Josh about his moustache which has become recognised with his wrestling character. Josh Abercrombie says he first had the moustache when he wrestled for IWA-Mid South and was asked about it at a Q&A. Josh Abercrombie is asked about his experience at WSX by Doc and Josh highlights he had a fantastic time, there was a lot of cool people there and a lot of good wrestling. Abercrombie continues by saying he enjoyed it.

A question from the chat room is what was it like to work with Sean ‘6-Pac’ Waltman. Josh notes that Sean was “way cooler than I thought he’d be" and talks about Sean Waltman in more detail. He is then asked if he’s been offered anything by TNA and WWE, if so, which company would he decide. Abercrombie replies he hasn’t been offered anything but he’d go some where he could be happy and that TNA have a good schedule, however, he doesn’t mind wrestling each night of the week like he would have to for WWE. Josh is asked about wrestlers on the independents and mentions Claudio Castagnoli, who was under a developmental contract with WWE. He highlights that someone should pick him up. Doc says you can see the Fight Sports Mid-West show featuring Josh at www.smartmarkvideo.com For more on Josh Abercrombie, visit his official Myspace at: www.myspace.com/joshabercrombie Josh is then thanked by Doc & Les for being a guest.
