Thomas Minihan sent in the following live report from the Backlash PPV earlier in the night:

Just to send you this in, I'm in the arena and am emailing through my phone while they show the Undertaker/Batista promo.

Backlash has been what was expected, semi-mediocre.

The tag team title match was fair. The womens match was just as any other womens match. Interesting fact though, Mickie had on a different style of outfit tonight for some unknown reason.

United States title match in my mind was pretty good. MVP really commanded a lot of the match but still has some learning to do if he wants a good push. He got a lot of heat when he came in and Benoit had a huge pop.

The ECW title match was a complete joke. WWE should have scratched this match, it was ridiculous. I'll report again from the hotel.
