Second live report from the Backlash PPV last night in Atlanta, Georgia
On Monday, April 30, 2007 at 3:40 PM EST Steve sent in the following report from last night's Backlash PPV in Atlanta, GA:
Before the show went on the air Flair came out to cut a short promo to welcome everyone to the show, pretty much an obvious excuse just to satisfy the fans by seeing Flair. Then we had a match between Carlito and Nitro that was won by Carlito, Carlito was way over btw.
As was probably heard on tv, Cena was booed pretty heavy, I'd say that about 70% of the fans were against him last night. They started booing him early in the night, everytime they would show a video package with him the fans would boo. Just like any other time, 98% of all the fans cheering him were small children and women. I think most people including myself don't really have a problem with him, it's just that it's either time for a heel turn or at least someone else to hold the title for awhile. After the show one fan summed it up pretty well as he sarcasticly stated "well another ppv is over and Cena is the champion, who saw that coming?"
Anyway, fans were way over for Lashley, Hardy's, Carlito, HBK, Beniot and Undertaker. Batista also got a pretty good pop, the crowd was just clearly on the side of Undertaker. They said the ppv was sold out and perhaps it was, but there were still quite a few empty seats around the place.
