"The Condemned" pulls in a low number for Friday night and projections
On Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 5:55 PM EST The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE Films "The Condemned" starring Steve Austin did just $360,000 at the box office last night, taking the film to 12th place overall.
That is a dangerously low figure for WWE since it was expected the film would drop no lower than 50% from the previous week. This was a 73% drop from last Friday. So, if you thought the figures looked bad last week, these are even worse.
As of now, the film is expected to earn around $1 million this weekend and finish in a few weeks with a total of $8 million earned. In order for the project to break-even, it would have to beat "The Marine" by a good 25% in the DVD market. However, that looks to be a long shot at this point.
