The response to chapter 182 of the Palace has been overwhelming. I still have close to 30 emails to go over and answer, then go over them all that I saved again for the follow up article. It'll happen, just a matter of when I can get it done.

Now, on to business. One Night Stand.

First, Why the hell is Benoit vs. MVP in SOME WAY, shape, or form not involved in this pay per view? Someone explain that one to me, because....

Lumberjack Match
KANE vs. MARK HENRY
This is an atrocity. Not at all because Kane is on PPV and fighting this cheeseball puffy overhyped oaf, but because a feud that has been done to perfection, in every sense of the word, is not being showcased in this spotlight, where it could have continued to blossom, win lose or draw for either Benoit or MVP. Instead, we get one week, actually, not even, two days of prep work from Smackdown airing friday, anyone who has half a brain forgot about it saturday when Kane did the six man with, of all people, Eugene and Doink the Clown, and now, we go to Sunday, where he's back in the ring with the supposed Silverback, Mark Henry.

WHY THE HELL DOES MARK HENRY HAVE A JOB?

Now, to make sure nobody thinks I've become too negative, let me point out some of Henry's good points. He's big, and he's agile for a man his size. But, he's awkward, he can't perform a wrestling hold to save his life, and he can't carry a wrestler to a good match for the life of him. He, like Khali, are injuries waiting to happen. The only reason why WWE isn't shaking in their boots with this match is because Kane has so much experience, he can carry guys like this to a good match. Although, based on friday night, even Kane may have his hands full getting this ridiculous booking to look good.

We could've got a gem with Benoit and MVP. Instead, we get this spitball. Makes me sick.

WINNER: Mark Henry

And that makes me sicker, but let's be honest, they're going to push this guy every chance they can until he injures himself or someone else.

Moving on, on a weekend where women's wrestling is showcased to the fullest extent in Illinois with the ROH sister promotion SHIMMER crowning its first champion, we get the WWE Women's champion competing in a match on a pay per view in....

Pudding Match
MELINA vs. CANDICE MICHELLE
Don't get me wrong in any sense of the word, I don't mind seeing these women compete, and I don't expect much from them anyway. Hell, I expect more from Melina because she's more experienced, and Candice has improved, but let's be honest here, this match is pure filler fodder, and except for Lawler losing his mind, there will be little to no reason to get involved in this match. Can anyone say, bathroom break?

WINNER: Candice Michelle

I give both of these ladies credit for even accepting this match. Personally, I think it's degrading from their perspective, but that's just an opinion. Moving on...

A match like this without the Homicidal one is just sacrilege, if you ask me. BUT, you didn't, so let's go forward...

Tables Match
CM PUNK, TOMMY DREAMER & The SANDMAN vs. MARCUS COR VON, MATT STRIKER & ELIJAH BURKE
Isn't it time to move on from this turf war? Van Dam is en route out of here, Sabu is gone, Thorn is doing strangest six mans on national television, Sandman's getting sued, and Punk's doing face and heel turns faster than my eight year old son going for his newly acquired Nintendo Wii controller. (Inside joke.) I remember a six man tables match from back in the day, 3 minute warning and Rico vs. Jeff Hardy, Bubba Dudley & Spike Dudley, when the Dudley Boys reunited after the draft lottery at Survivor Series 2002. That was a tables match. Hard hitting insane spots of epic proprotions from start to finish. Don't expect that here. Hopefully, the Originals and Punk win this match to eventually shut up the loudmouth Burke and end this overstale angle with the "control factor" of ECW on the line, since we all know who's running that ship in to the ground.

WINNERS: Sandman, Tommy Dreamer & CM Punk

Speaking of RVD's demise out of WWE....

Stretcher Match
RANDY ORTON vs. ROB VAN DAM
What's really proposterous out of this thing is more than likely, Orton will be next in line for a title shot at the WWE champ. 2 to 1 Orton wins this match, although Vince is losing his mind because guys like me are bitching about the way RVD is being written out of the company, but Orton probably wins this match, Van Dam continues his good acting skills, (and damn, he did sell it well, I saw the highlights from it on Smackdown), and hence, the champ has his next opponent. (You probably just figured out another prediction coming up...but hey... so be it.)

It just bothers me that this guy can cause a black eye in Europe for the company, and then 3 months later, he's practically on the doorstep of the championship. How the WWE turns. Fair, isn't it?

WINNER: Randy Orton

Now we get to the four title matches. Personally, I love one of them, one is ok, one is dangerous in every sense of the word, and one makes me sick. Let's go from bad to superb, ok?

ECW Championship - Street Fight
Mr. McMAHON vs. BOBBY LASHLEY
Anyone who thinks this is going to be one on one is absolutely insane. We'll see Umaga here, we'll see some other of McMahon's resources, and either Lashley is going to run a virtual gauntlet in this match, or McMadman will figure out a way to keep the title for another month. Either way, this is by far and away the most ridiculous championship scenario WWE has portrayed since I began following the promotion. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this makes the Katie Vick angle look good. That's how pathetic and assinine this angle is with the chairman of the board being the world champion of a brand that's supposed to be "hardcore." Give me a break.

WINNER: Mr. McMAHON

World Heavyweight Championship - Steel Cage Match
EDGE vs. BATISTA
Ok, here's another opinion question for everybody. Who here, who saw Smackdown friday night, thought that the exchange with Edge and Batista at the final segment of the show, who thought that was close to the dumbest segment that has been broadcast on national television in a long time? I mean, let's be honest, a BOOGEYMAN match was more entertaining to watch, than to listen and see these two guys shove each other around like pussycats looking for a ball of yarn. I hope to God that they step it up about 20 notches when the door slams to the cage. We all know Edge will win the match, because there's a lot of time to be had before another prime heel can attack the champion, and Booker's not back yet, so Batista and the title is not a good mix at the present point and time. Plus the fact that Edge needs more time to make this reign legit, otherwise, he's a teflon paper champion like he was on Raw. They're not going to do that again.

WINNER: Edge

Now, for the absolute danger...
WWE Championship - Must win by pinfall - Falls count anywhere
JOHN CENA vs. The GREAT KHALI
I read a piece that this match is expected to go longer because of the ability to use weapons with the rules of this match. I hope not, as Cena has got to be exhausted carrying this beast along in this program. And, frankly, WWE ought to be kissing their lucky clover that Cena has not been seriously injured in this program, because Khali, like Mark Henry, is a train wreck waiting to happen. And, like I've said before, like him or hate him, John Cena is currently WWE's biggest meal ticket, and WWE has put him in harm's way. I hope they know what they're doing.

WINNER: John Cena

And the match that could steal this show, hands down, and SHOULD be the main event....
World Tag Team Championship - Ladder Match
The HARDYS vs. The WORLD'S GREATEST TAG TEAM
Any ladder match with the Hardys has the chance to be amazing. And when you add the talent of Haas and Benjamin to the mix, you don't know how good this could get. I hope, win lose or draw for either team, that these guys go round and round for a long time. There's a piece I read that Vince is still against the Hardys being a full time team, which is why technically Jeff is still on Raw, and Matt is still on Smackdown. I hope someone at WWE talks Vince in to some sense, and keeps the Hardys as a tag team, because wherever they may be, they can cause havoc for a lot of teams, and come out with some major matches. Can you see a program with the Hardys and London and Kendrick in the future? Based on what they did at Armageddon 2006, I want to see that. Getting back to the task at hand, this is going to be good. I'm taking the Hardys on sheer experience, but this is going to be a good match, a potentially great match, and I hope WWE creative doesn't screw it up.

WINNERS: The Hardys
