Robmayn sent this additional AAA report in:
Hey, Robmayn here. Reading the newsletter today, I was very surprised how people is misinformed of Mexican "Lucha Libre", I would like to sent you some notes from AAA (even though I haven't seen it for a while), and I you would like to ask you if you could please post them in the page to give some advertisement to what AAA is.
First of all, TNA has a very close business relation with AAA. That's why you see TNA stars on AAA, VERY often. There is an angle in where Konnan and Cibernetico are feuding, and Konnan is bringing TNA guys as a stable called "Legion Extranjera" (Foreign Legion). Some stars that have appeared are: HeadHunter, Abyss, Ron "The Truth" Killing, Jeff Jarret, Homicide, Machete, Kenzo Suzuki, Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarret, Rhino, Monty Brown, among others. In fact, Cibernetico "supposedly" is the responsible one for Konnan being on crutches. AAA wrestlers invaded TNA in 2003 winning a Tournament Cup with team capitan Abismo Negro. Also, AAA was the first one to use the six sided ring (2001 or before if I am not mistaken).
Second, a lot of Luchadores have come all the way from AAA. Rey Mysterio Jr. is the most popular one, and he had made some AAA appearances now that he is on rehabilitation. Konnan, Juventud Guerrera, Vampiro, Psicosis, Super Crazy, Mr. Aguila, La Parka, Eddie Guerrero and the Guerrero Family, and a lot more names have gone, and some are still part of, AAA. Also, while the Mexicools were still on WWE contract, they still had some appearances (weekly to be honest), the only difference is that they wear masks on AAA, and Super Crazy is known as Crazy Boy.
Next, AAA has a very wide Women Division, maybe they are not complete jewels on the ring, but they definitely can go around doing Hurracaranas, Shooting Star Press, some locks and a lot. And also..., we are know for "Gay" wrestlers known as Exoticos (Exotics in english) that are transvestites wrestlers and wrestled dressed as girls, you could spot a Goldust ripoff called Polvo de Estrellas (Stardust). And also the midget wrestling is very popular on AAA, even though the only ones right now are Mascarita Sagrada and Mini Abismo Negro (sometimes Octagoncito, Mini Parka and Mascarita Divina wrestle).
There had been a lot of interesting matches on AAA, the Electrified Steel Cage match was very popular some years ago (and yeah, they were waaaay worse than TNA's). There was something called "Dark Match" in which all the lights are off, except a Black Light in the ring. And if you thought you knew everything, Jeff Jarret is the most hated heel on AAA, and had won the Rey de Reyes (King Of Kings) tournament in 2005, this tournament is a King Of The Ring ripoff honestly..., but "The War Machine" Rhino has also been part of the tourney in 2006.
To close this, I would also like to make you an invitation to catch CMLL sometime, they are another Major Lucha Libre promotion, the difference with AAA is that they are more Lucha style and don't have that much of storylines and gimmick matches.
