“Wildfire" Tommy Rich vs. Chris Cronus
Tommy Rich has been a major player in professional wrestling for well over 25 years. Another athlete who was wise beyond his years, Rich’s fiery demeanor and textbook wrestling technique propelled Rich to early and major success. Rich became the youngest ever NWA World Heavyweight Champion, defeating Harley Race in April of 1981, and went on to capture several other national and regional championships throughout his career. Rich, a southern boy born and bred through his entire career, experienced an unlikely career resurgence in ECW in the late-90s as the leader of the “Full Blooded Italians". Known as “The Big Don", his Italian heritage was always highly in question, but his toughness never was, regularly surviving wars with everyone from The Blue Meanie to New Jack. Now, Wildfire makes his way to CAPW to battle Chris Cronus, someone who much like Rich, has achieved major success at a very young age. It’s the old guard vs. the new guard August 5th when Cronus meets Tommy Rich.
UPDATE ON TRACY SMOTHERS CONTROVERSY
Last week, we broke the story regarding Tracy Smothers’ out-of-control verbal and physical outburst following our June 3rd live event. Smothers, irate over losing his CAPW Heavyweight Title to The Blue Meanie, abused members of CAPW staff and DEMANDED to be placed in the Heavyweight Title Cage Match along with Meanie and Bane on August 5. It was a different side of Smothers that we had not seen since his return to Cleveland, and based on the intense hatred between Smothers & Bane this year, and the years-long rivalry he’s had with Meanie, it’s certainly not surprising.
Since this past week, we have learned that CAPW Officials continue to meet with their legal team, as well as STO representatives regarding the ability to air the controversial piece of footage that captured Smothers at his wildest moments following losing the title. We can also confirm Smothers has visited the CAPW front office within the past week, reportedly for some type of contract negotiation. Furthermore, we have also been made aware that shortly following Smother’s June 3 outburst, BOTH The Blue Meanie and Jason Bane were informed of Tracy Smothers’ comments and apparently had very candid remarks in response.
We are still striving to piece together these controversial happenings as the chaos just seems to escalate as we grow closer to the CAPW Championship Steel Cage Match August 5 at the Plain Dealer Pavilion, still scheduled to be The Blue Meanie defending against Jason Bane, much to the chagrin of Tracy Smothers. Next week we will have a further update on this saga.

Results from NWA Upstate's Continuing The Tradition 07' at the Dome Arena in Henrietta, New York 6/9 (Attendance: 500)
Preshow
1. Those 80's Guys (Vince Beach & Reed James) defeated The New Wrestling Inc. (Brandon Thurston & James Santel)
2. Johnny Kayfabe vs. The Dustytaker never happened as Kayfabe had a surprise for The Dustytaker and announced that his opponent would be none other than the NWA Upstate World Heavyweight Champion "The Right Stuff" Brodie Lee!
Brodie Lee vs. The Dustytaker was ruled a no-contest as Lee bloodied Dustytaker with a metal spike until Jimmy Olsen came out to make the save. Lee then grabbed the mic and announced that the first fall of their 3 Stages of Hell World Title match would be a "first blood" match. Afterwards, Kayfabe confident in his actions issued another challenge calling out ANYONE from the back to face him one-on-one. The challenge was answered by Synndy.
3. Synndy defeated Johnny Kayfabe via submission (ankle lock) After the match, Kayfabe's associates, led by Big Mer, pulled Synndy off and held her down for Kayfabe who was about to attack her until Rhythm & Booze("The Tennessee Strangler" Buddy Delmar & Frank The Tank)came out and ran Kayfabe and his cohorts out of the ring. Rhythm & Booze pulled Synndy up to her feet seemingly to help her, but turned on Synndy giving her a Hart Attack clothesline. R&B were going to continue their assault until MARTY JANETTY came out and went after Buddy and Frank. Kayfabe came in to make it a 3 on 1 attack until Dunn & Marcos came out to make the save. Kayfabe grabbed the mic and said since Janetty, Dunn & Marcos wanted to stick their noses in his business, he would go in the back and find one "hell" of a partner who would team up with Rhythm & Booze and challenged them to a six-man tag match, which was accepted, for the main show.
4. Derek Duncam defeated Luis Whiteshoes and The Mighty Finn in a 3-way dance. Duncam pinned Whiteshoes with the Western Lariat.
Main Show
1. "The White Willie Beamon" D To The Icky" won a 6-way free-for-all match against Troy Buchanan, Brad Martin, "Mr. One Night Stand Steve Kruz, Coconut Jones, & Ivan Radske. D To The Icky pinned Jones with his finisher (tiger suplex).
2. All Japan's Brute Issei defeated The Star Foundation's Sterling James Keenan (w/Star Rider). A competitive match with Issei getting the pin with a big splash.
3. "The Exceptional Icon" Eric Everlast, Triple X, & Sweet Lou defeated Mark Krieger, "The Patriot" Dewey Wilkes (Dewey dressed as The Patriot), and Mastiff (w/"The Mayor of Funktown" Sampson McDoogal) to win the NWA Upstate 6 Man Trophy. Everlast pinned Mastiff after getting hit with Sweet Lou's golf club while referee Chris Michaels was distracted. Before the match, Triple X told Big Cat, who was not scheduled to wrestle on the show but was in attendance, not to worry because his mother was back home in Charlotte, North Carolina and was being "well taken care of."
4. NWA Upstate No Limits Champion Cheeh defeated Pepper Parks to retain his title. Another back and forth match that saw the champion pull out the win with a rolling body scissors. A good showing though by the "Patrick Swayze of Professional Wrestling" in his first title match in NWA Upstate.
5. Jon Bolen became the new NWA Upstate Kayfabe Dojo Champion defeating Colin Olsen, Cloudy, and "The Dark Pony" JP Black. Bolen got the pin on Colin Olsen, although Black claimed that he was the legal man in the ring and not Olsen but the pinfall stood and Bolen is the new champion.
6. The Star Foundation's "Fabulous" John McChesney defeated All Japan's Akira Raijin in the second match featuring NWA Upstate against All Japan. McChesney got the win with his "Fabulous" frog splash after hitting Raijin with brass knucks when Star Rider distracted referee Ron Falco. Although tainted, a huge and impressive win for McChesney and The Star Foundation.
7. Tag Team Champions Dunn & Marcos & Marty Janetty (w/Nikki Jett) defeated Rhythm & Booze & "The Boss" Hellcat (w/Johnny Kayfabe). Before the match, Frank The Tank of Rhythm & Booze announced Hellcat as their mystery partner. Janetty got the pin on Hellcat with a superkick. Janetty looked good in this match and showed no signs of ring rust. Despite the victory, the issue between the Dunn & Marcos and R&B is far from over.
8. The Jump Off ("The Rican Sensation" Maximo Suave & "The Master of The Setting Sun" Gabe Saint) defeated The McCloud Brothers (Evan & Kyle). The action in this one took place before the match even started. The McCloud Brothers actually pinned The Jump Off on two separate occasions but the Jump Off claimed that since the bell never rang, the pinfalls didn't count. The match that DID count saw Saint rollup Kyle for the victory. The Jump Off gained their first victory in Upstate, but the brothers from Boston showed they can go with anyone and why they too are a team to be reckoned with.
9. Jimmy Olsen defeated NWA Upstate World Heavyweight Champion "The Right Stuff" Brodie Lee in a best of 3 falls "3 States of Hell" Match to become the new champion. The first fall was a first blood match that saw Olsen get the win when he busted Lee wide open with a metal spike, ironically the same spike that Brodie Lee used on The Dustytaker in their match on the preshow. The second fall was a street fight which see Lee get the win after giving Olsen a running Liger bomb through a ladder! The third and deciding fall was a tables match in which Olsen powerbombed Lee off the ring apron through a table outside the ring! With that move, Olsen put an exclamation point on the night and put an end to his brutal, personal feud with Brodie Lee as well as his title reign. After the match, Olsen actually extended his hand out to Lee to shake, but the angry, frustrated Lee refused and left the ring. Both men received a standing ovation after the match and with the victory, Jimmy Olsen is now a two-time NWA Upstate World Champion and per the stipulation, Brodie Lee cannot get a world title shot as long as Olsen is champion.
The next Upstate show is Friday July 13th as part of the Monroe County Fair at the Monroe County Fairgrounds in Henrietta, New York. We'll have more info on this show in the coming weeks or you can call the Upstate hotline (585) 621-4293.

[MAIN EVENT! SPECIAL CHALLENGE MATCH! IF COOPER STILL US CHAMPION, TITLE WILL BE ON THE LINE!!]
"Modern Day Enforcer" Eric Cooper (Champion)
versus
"Dirty" Don Montoya (Challenger)
- Don Montoya has done it all in the sport of professional wrestling. The only question about Don Montoya is who hasn't he beat? Montoya has wrestled some of the best in the world, and has wrestled all over and is looking to shut down Eric Cooper in his hometown! For only the second time in his career, Eric Cooper will be wrestling in his hometown of Hightstown, New Jersey. Since Cooper has left the town of Hightstown, he has reached heights he only has imagined since being a little kid growing up. With a very busy title defense schedule ahead of him and his newly won BWO United States Championship, one has to wonder if the wear and tear will affect him in arguably the biggest match in his short career. If Cooper is able to make it through the summer as champion, he has vowed to defend the belt against Montoya! When reached for comment, Montoya said he would love nothing more then to defeat Cooper in his hometown of Hightstown, and leave with fifteen pounds of gold around his waist!
[DEVASTATION WRESTLING FEDERATION JERSEY STATE CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE LINE!]
Vinny The Fixxer (Champion) w/ JADEN
versus
"Lone Wolf" Evan Myers (Challenger)
- BWO Southern State has come to terms and a working agreement has been signed with the Devastation Wrestling Federation based in Southern New Jersey. When finding out the news, DWF Jersey State Champion Vinny the Fixxer along with his manager JADEN called the BWO Main offices and said to send the best BWO has to offer, and they will put their title on the line. When BWO Owner Glenn Ulrich sent out the message to the roster, the man to step up was none other then "Lone Wolf" Evan Myers! A former BWO United States champion, and the man many feel is the most popular superstar in all of the BWO. He is looking to win some new gold, but it won't be that easy as Vinny the Fixxer is looking to make a huge impact in his BWO debut along with retaining his title. Can Vinny make a lasting impression? Have the many battles Evan has been in this year taking a toll on his body? Only thing for sure, the only people who will be leaving winners are the fans!
[WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE! SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH!]
"Canadian Shooter" Tommy Force w/ JADEN
versus
Former WWE/WCW Star
"America's Hero" The Patriot
- When the inception of BWO Southern State came about, BWO Southern State officials contacted Tommy Force to appear on the first show. Force's manager JADEN returned the phone call stating that Tommy Force will only face the best, and promises whoever he is to face he will make tap out! Southern State officials looked long and hard, and they have found a more then suitable opponent: "America's Hero" The Patriot! A man who stands up for what is right, and a man who has promised he will shutup not only Force, but his manager JADEN as well!! We hope to have our camera crew catch up with Force and Jaden sometime in the near future!
[SPECIAL JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHALLENGE MATCH # 1!]
Johnny Cockstrong
versus
Austin Amadeus
- This match doesn't need much hype. Johnny Cockstrong may very well be one of the most underrated Junior Heavyweights in the north east, and he will go one on one against one of the top Junior Heavyweights to come out of the state of Florida, Austin Amadeus! Austin is coming 1200 miles up Interstate 95 with one thing in mind, beating Johnny Cockstrong in his journey to become the top Junior Heavyweight not only in the BWO, but on all the East Coast! Johnny Cockstrong on the other hand is looking for that one breakout performance, and this may be it! Both these men have nothing to lose, and a lot to gain and plan on putting it all on the table. This one may steal the show!

[SPECIAL JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT CHALLENGE MATCH # 2!]
Draven Blaze w/ BWO Women's Champion Rebecca Payne

Nooie Lee, who on the weekend of July 13th and 14th will be taking part in the world famous Jeff Peterson Memorial Tournament down in Florida, is looking to make show the North East just what he is all about! Nooie has been racking up victory after victory down in Florida and is becoming more and more known on a national level. Draven Blaze is looking for a competitive match and he will get more then that! When we said Austin/Cockstrong may steal the show, this one may steal the show as well!
