TNA House Show Results - 6/15/07

My name is Brad Osborn and I was in attendance at the TNA house show in Sheffield, Al on Friday, June 15 and wanted to give a report.

The event was held in the Sheffield Multi Purpose building which is actually just a high school gym. I arrived a half an hour before bell time and "Black Machismo" Jay Lethal was signing autographs at the merchandise table.

The ring that they were using was about 4 feet in diameter smaller than the one used on tv. It seemed quite small. The crowd was a good size for such a small town. I'd say about 800-900 people. A special guest was announced and Jeremy Borash came out. He was the evening's ring announcer.

The first match saw Robert Roode with Mrs. Brooks defeat
Eric Young. Lots of comedic spots.

Next up LAX (without Konnan) defeated The Naturals.

Third match saw Wildcat Chris Harris and Gail Kim defeat Cowboy James Storm and Mrs. Tennessee Jackie Moore when Gail Kim pinned Jackie.

After this match Robert Fuller aka Col. Rob Parker came out talking about the glory days of the sport when men were much bigger and badder.

This was interrupted by Samoa Joe who cleared the ring for his match with A.J. Styles. This match was 2 out of 3 falls and Samoa Joe won 2-0 (first fall by dq, 2nd I believe was from a muscle buster).

The 5th match was a fatal 4 way for the X Division Chmpionship. It pitted Champ Chris Sabin against Alex Shelly, Black Machismo Jay Lethal (who got a few Slim Jim chants), and Petey Williams. Sabin pinned Jay for the win. Afterwards Sabin and Shelly teamed up on Jay Lethal and was saved by Petey Williams who delivered a Canadian Destroyer on Shelly. Seeing that move live is incredible, blink and you would have missed it.

After this match was an intermission. Samoa Joe came out and signed autographs at the merchandise table. This lasted around 10-15 minutes.

Up next Abyss defeated Christopher Daniels with a Black Hole Slam.

The last match and main event saw Kurt Angle make Christian
Cage tap out in the Angle Lock. Short match, it only lasted six or seven minutes.

All in all a very entertaining show. The crowd wasn't the
hottest I've ever seen, but still gave a good reaction. I think we were all still in shock that TNA came to our little city. They did announce TNA would come back to Sheffield.
