Jeff Norwood sent this recap in:
First -- an advertisement for Geraldo's show is a special this weekend, with the teaser, "Geraldo uncovers the roid rage -- what caused Benoit to snap?"
Also, after the Chris Jericho interview, they were talking about Sherri Martel and there was a question, "did Sherri know Chris Benoit?" (this is another great example of trying to link stories that have no real relevance to each other, especially when Sherri's sister said they did not know each other on a personal level.)
Anyway.
Chris Jericho was in an interview and talked about Benoit's wrestling style. He said that Benoit was a very hard-hitting, tough wrestler to had a style that wrestlers in the locker room looked up to. He said it was very aggressive and took a toll on Benoit's body, but Benoit never showed it in the ring. He said at 40, he was probably in more pain than Jericho himself, given Benoit's tougher style and also being older. He said that Benoit was loved in the locker room and by the fans. He made it a point to state that Benoit would, at times, fly home for hours in between shows to see his children, and that he worshipped his children. Jericho said this makes it even harder for him to understand how Benoit could turn and commit this henious crime.
When asked for his final words on Chris Benoit, Jericho said that the "gap between what happened and the guy everyone loved in the locker room and in the ring" is what is making wrestling fans and wrestlers themselves hung up on how this could happen. He said the WWE locker room is a family itself and this is why it is hard for them to grasp how this crime could have happened.
Jericho also said that Benoit's last random wellness test was April 10th and came back negative, and that in additon to steroid testing, it also checks for other problems such as cardiovascular, etc.
