Huge News on DWF's Rise of the Phoenix 7-28 in Bellmawr,NJ
Devastation Wrestling Federation
In association with Over the Top Promotions
Proudly Presents
Rise of the Phoenix
Saturday July 28th
At Sportz Central
300 Benigno Blvd.
Bellmawr, NJ 08031
7:30 PM Bell Time
I want to start off the press release saying the DWF wants to give well wishes to Breaker Morant and Evan Myers for their recent injuries. We also want to wish "Bad Boy" Danny Pagan the best of luck in his retirement... Both Breaker and Bad Boy do plan to be in attendance at the Sportz Central on July the 28th to address their future in and out of wrestling..
Now on with the show
Already Signed:
DWF Heavyweight Title Match
"Latin Attraction" Angel Gonzalez will take on "The Sultan of Bling" Sheik Shiel Ali
Due to the retirement of Danny "Bad Boy" Pagan this match is now a one on one match up between hated rivals the "Latin Attraction" Angel Gonzalez and "The Sultan of Bling" Sheik Shiel Ali.. These two wrestlers hate each other, there is no better way to put it.. Though his Translator, Shiel Ali had this to say "For the past year I have had to listen to the DWF fas talk about how great Angel Gonzalez is.. How can any one say this man is great.. He is just a spoiled man who get all the breaks in the DWF... Just because some fans cry and complain about how you were screwed out of the DWF title then they DWF Board of Directors give you the title shot that should have been mine.. Ten after you win the title you were scheduled to wrestle me.. Well I find out in the back that you had that Referee named Spanky 1 2 3 officiating the match.. He is the most biased Ref in the DWF.. I refused to come out to face you when I knew the deck was stacked against me.. The DWF is afraid of me and so are you Angel Gonzalez.. That is why you and the DWF do everything in your power to keep me from winning the title belt.. You even had your friend 'Bad boy" in the match to back you up... Well "Bad Boy" was smart and retired before I could have crippled him.. I got on the phone to my lawyer and made sure that you didn't have a chance to get any more friends to watch your back in the mach and now it is just one on one.. Spanky 1 2 3 will also not be the referee for this match. On July 28th that title will be coming to me where it belongs".. To make this match even more interesting we will have a very special guest referee in this match to make sure this match will be kept under control and that well WILL have a winner.. Who will this ref be?? I guess you have to come to the show on July 28th in Bellmawr, NJ to find out
With the announcement of the bad injury to Breaker Morant that leaves the DWF Jersey State Title match wide open.. Just who will be taking on DWF Jersey State Champion Vinny the Fixxer for his coveted title?? We have received lots of inquiries from wrestlers wanting to be in this title match.. There will be a very special announcement very soon on just who will be getting the chance of a life time.. I promise though it will be the biggest match ever for Vinny the Fixxer
If that was not enough, Another HUGE match has been signed for our debut in Bellmawr, NJ. If you remember at the last show there was an 8 person DWF Cruiserweight Championship match that blew the roof off of the Powerhouse Gym.. That match, widely considered the best match ever in the DWF, has been talked about ever since that event.. Always looking to give the fans the very best action possible the DWF has signed a brand new match for the Cruiserweight Title.. The match is know as Cruiserweight Countdown.. We take seven of the hottest cruiserweights in the DWF, 2 start of one on one in the ring, after 60 seconds a new cruiserweight comes in, then 60 seconds later another Cruiserweight comes in until all seven are in.. Once all 7 are in the original two stay inside the ring ate the others take a corner.. The match then becomes a elimination match where any wrestler can tag any one.. It continues until one wrestler remains and that wrestler will be the Cruiserweight Champion.. Here are all seven wrestlers signed for the match
Jackyl w/ Roxie Cotton - DWF Cruiserweight Champion
Crazii Shea - Former DWF Champion
KIDD - Former DWF Champion
The Arrogant One (A-1)
Johnny Fearless
Chris Envy
"Mr.Kama Sutra" Lucky Pierre
This match will be amazing and just may be the best match in DWF History
But wait, there is more... We now will announce another title match.. This one is for the DWF Tag Team Championship.. Now we know that the DWF Tag Team Champions are the Gemini Trojans and they will obviously defend those titles but against who? Unfortunately it won't be against number one contenders Hard Candy.. Zac Conner and Bazooka Joe have a previous commitment and are unable to make this show so they forfeited their number one contendership.. To make up for the number one contenders not being in the match, the DWF board of directors has replaced them with three of the top tag teams in the Devastation Wrestling Federation. So on Saturday, July the 28th the Gemini Trojans will defend their beloved DWF Tag Team Titles against former NWA United States Tag Team Champions the Lost Boyz ( Yar & Wolfe ), The Downward Spiral ( Twiggy Ramirez & Problem Child ) and the Board of Education ( Steve the Teacher & the "Modern Day Enforcer" Erik Cooper)... When DWF GM Atticus Rheighns was ask about this, here is what he had to say "My self the the DWF Board of Directors wanted to make up for the popular team of Hard Candy not being there so we upped the anti if you will by having 4 of the best tag teams in the DWF go at it all at once. We in the Devastation Wrestling Federation want to bring back the excitement and glory of tag team wrestling and this match will be just what fans of tag team wrestling need... I care about the fans and want to give them their moneys worth and more. If any fan thought tag team wrestling was dead needs to be at the Sportz Central on Saturday, July the 28th to watch tag team wrestling rise from the ashes like the Phoenix of legend"
Speaking of our General Manager Atticus Rheighns he has received a package containing a neck brace with a note attached that says "Your soul will be mine" Noting is known about who sent the package other then it came from Maryland.. We will let you know more about this as the story develops
Have you ever heard of a grudge match between two close friends?.. Well here in the DWF we are going to provide you with just that. For years the "Madman from the Badlands" Glen Osborne and the "Dragon of Edinburgh" Bobby Piper have been beating the holy hell out of each other up and down the North East. This has led to many broken bones, many blackened eyes, much loss of blood and most of all some of the most hard hitting action the world of professional wrestling has ever seen... What this epic war also produces is a respect and friendship between these two gladiators. They promised to never wrestle each other again for fear that the toll this struggle has taken on their bodies will shorten their careers ( if it has not already ).. Since those matches have been put to a stop Piper and Osborne have not only become training partners but they also became best of friends... One July 28th this cease fire between Osborne and Piper will come to an end. You will once again see brutal matches that legends are made of.. In Bellmawr, New Jersey best friends will become better enemies and the fans of the DWF will be the ones who will reap the rewards.. You ask what would make them give up their hard earned friendship? Well the winner of this match will be the number one contender for the DWF Jersey State title currently held by Vinny the Fixxer... Both men have unfinished business with Vinny and even more of a motivator is both men want to hold that prestigious DWF Jersey State Title.. Either way this match won't be for the weak of heart...
As is this was not enough, We also added a very special Battle Royal, where the winner will receive a 1 year contract with the DWF.. More names will be listed for that battle royal in the upcoming days

WrestleFanFest continues to tease with a "GOLDBERG" appearance with a silhouette of somone that looks pretty familiar? Although the "silhouette" seems pretty vague but after a second look it appears to be that of the one
and only Goldberg?
I will continue to watch this as it develops...the site did not note this at the last time I checked being 10:20AM on Sunday morning.

3) Le Tigre (Jay Fenix & Prodigy) def. Angel de Guerra & Tiger Star

It was announced that Cherry Bomb wasn't there. Danyah won after a stiff missile dropkick from the top rope.
6) Dan Paysan retained his Junior Heavyweight Championship over Xtremo & El Sombra when he was DQ'd
Paysan pinned Sombra to eliminate him. Ref Bakais went down after Paysan blasted him with the title belt. Xtremo pinned Paysan and ref Cassidy jumped in the ring to count the pin and awarded the title to Xtremo. Bakais woke up and DQ'd Payasan.
7) Eddie Osbourne w/ Jessy Jones def. Matt Burns

9) The Southside Stranglers defeated RJ City when the ref stopped the bout.

: NEW CGPW CHAMPION, GREG THE HAMMER VALENTINE
Quick results from CGPW in Morrisburg, JOntariouly 07
From the Arena
Attendance: 875
Ring Announcer: Dave Welsh
Referees: Noah Charisma, Jeff the Ref
Show opened with announcement that Morrisburg was the "Pro Wrestling Capital of the World" (Just in case you were wondering just where that was.) Second announcement was that Jake the Snake Roberts was not there. (Although a large snake was and it was a popular attraction during intermission.)
CGPW C.E.O. Joe Dunlop introduced the Hickster who informed fans that his leg was injured the night before "at a different show" by his former tag partner. Hickster didn't say who that was but he did mention that he'd found someone to exact revenge on his partner right then and there. He said Harley Davison would be the man.
1) Harley Davison def. Wild Ace
Harley Davison is a short, squat, biker-looking guy. (What are the odds!?!) He's 'cute in an ugly sort of way' according to my female expert on these things. The crowd was solidly behind him from the moment he stepped into the arena. And why wouldn't they be? He came personally endorsed by none other than The Hickster, Northern Ontario's biggest star.
Wild Ace is tall with a good but not particularly defined build. He's cute in a 'Heeey, he's cute. Sorta.' kind of way. (These kind of accurate expert appraisals are invaluable to me. I just thought Ace wasn't as ugly as Harley.)
So there was an ugly good guy and a good looking bad guy in an opening match that both I, and a lot of other people rapidly decided was anything but 'cute.' Ugly is the word.
Round about the 7 minute mark the ref got knocked out. Ace was beating on Harley and it didn't look good for the good guy. Suddenly the song "Real American" started blasting over the sound system and The Hickster made his way to the ring.
He clubbered Wild Ace and landed a big leg drop. He draped Harley over the fallen Ace and the ref sprang to life and counted the pin.
Huge big giant ovation and cheers for that.
So the finish to the opener gave fans big reason to cheer and thank god for that because the first 6 minutes were... well, not as intense and believable as I think they should have been.
2) Caster McFear w/ Danny Linkin def. Doink
Yea, this was a fake Doink. Nobody cared. He had balloons! Fan favorite for sure.
His opponent Caster McFear had a bad script and a bad attitude. The manager he brought with him was like an ill-tempered crack addicted spider monkey so no one liked him either.
Lots of comedic advantages by Doink, lots of cheating by the bad guys, lots of noise from the fans. It was short (6 min.) and it was fun. The only complaint I have is that Caster pulled the trunks to get the win and he didn't go light on the move.
It was NOT a pretty sight.
3) Sharkboy def. Eddie Osbourne
They didn't really do a whole lot but Osbourne & Sharkboy gave fans a fantastic 16 minutes with this one. I loved it.
Eddie thought he'd won it with an apparent pinfall but the ref said it was only a 2 count. He demanded Eddie get back in the ring. Hundreds of fans made the count down before Osbourne rolled in at 9 and quickly got pinned with a backslide from Sharkboy.
(Ya know... That fin on Sharboy's mask actually acts like a wedge during that move and could make it unescapable. Someone should look into that. If it's true, it's a clear violation of rule 738-16(Amendment 4C-11;4))
4) J. Runnels & Shawn McMillin def. The Canadian Gold'n Boyz (Lance & Rusty Malibu)
The Gold'n Byz were heels which was a bit of a shock for those of us from the south of Ontario. The match was apparently a tournament match for the tag titles but I don't recall hearing that announced. (This led to a little confusion later on.)
The match was pretty good. There was some comedy, some ref disracts & double teams that saw McMillin take the brunt of the beating. The good guys rallied after the hot tag and the action was fast.
Tables suffered as McMillin and Rusty battled at ringside. Runnels pinned Lance to get the win. The Gold'n Boyz threw a tantrum after the loss and got into a shoving match with event security.
Fun match that the crowd got right into. I always marvel at how easily Lance Malibu can toss people high in the air. The people he throws around always seem shocked too.
Intermission: The snake was available for pictures as was Greg the Hammer Valentine. Also on hand were Ruffy Silverstein, Sharkboy, Caster McFear, Hickster and others. (Yea, Caster. The bad guy out selling his merch. I'll never get used to that.)
Also in attendance was Dr Mask and business at his table was brisk.
5) J. Runnels & Shawn McMillin def. Jessy Jones & Chaz Lovely
I was confused when Team Player showed up to wrestle again. I don't remember hearing about a tournament during the announcements for this one either. (I heard about that later after the show)
Chaz & Jessy meshed well as a team and did a great job of pissing off over 800 people. Jessy was in a green Peter Pan type of outfit. He looked like a cross between the Jolly Green Giant and the Michilin Man.
Runnels suffered the obligatory beating before tagging in McMillin to save the day. VERY cool dropkick / 619 combo from Team Player during the finish.
After the bell, the Canadian Gold'n Boyz attacked Team Player but were soon escorted out by security.
6) Ruffy Silverstein def. Eddie Osbourne
Osbourne came out and demanded he get another match since he was "robbed" in his match with Sharkboy. He wasn't so eager when Silverstein answered the challenge.
Good, solid, 12 minutes that saw two guys, who know each other well, give the fans in Morrisburg a damn fine match. Lots of good stuff in this one but the highlight was Ruffy's top rope superplex.
Osbourne tapped to the Sharpshooter.
7) Stretcher Match: Hannibal def. Kwan Chang
Introduced as a "No DQ, No Holds Barred, Falls Count Anywhere Stretcher Match" this watch would end only when one man pinned the other and then successfully removed him from the arena on a stretcher.
This was a violent bloody brawl that raged around the arena. Hannibal was bleeding a fountain of blood. Barricades went down. Chairs, tables and 45 Gal. Steel garbage containers were used as instruments of carnage as Chang and Hannibal had fans scattering in all directions.
Unbreakable tables proved to be Chang's undoing as his larger opponent repeatedly smashed his frame onto the Asian Nightmare. These two guys tore shit apart during this one. The place was rockin!
Hannibal got on the mic after winning the match but I don't know what he said. (It sounded like "Yarg! Growl! Augh! Abdullah Boogity Boo!")
There was a brief delay for housekeeping.
8) 60 Minute Time Limit for the Vacant CGPW World Championship: Greg the Hammer Valentine def. Quinson Valentino.
It didn't take Valentine 60 minutes to become (possibly) the world's oldest World Champion. He had Valentino tapping out to the Figure 4 in just over 6 minutes.
The match was pretty straight forward and very simple; but when such scant offerings are placed in the care of a veteran like The Hammer and a talent like Valentino, the results are pure gold.
Two (Count em! TWO) patented face first flops from Valentine in this one. (God, I LOVE that shit!)
Fans popped huge when Valentine won the title. As did I. (Wasn't my guess) The show ended on a high note and a reminder about the upcoming August show in Cornwall.
Good card. VERY hot crowd. Tons of fun. If I have any real criticism it's the placements of the last two matches. Because of the blood & violence of the Stretcher Match I felt it would have better served as the last match.
It was late already. There were lots of kids. (Tons of them wearing stuff from Dr Mask's table. Wow.) I thought the World Title match should have run as the semi-main, followed by an announcement that the next match would be violent and possibly bloody. That way, parents could have made the decision to take their kids and skidaddle since they'd already seen the BIG STAR and could safely skip the more adult content with little dissent from their tired youngsters.
Whatever. It was a great show! We enjoyed it very much. Thanks Joe Dunlop, for a fantastic time.
