PWInsider is reporting that Jerry Lawler was officially served with court papers recently stating that Sal Corrente was filing assault charges against him. Lawler is scheduled to report to court on August 1 to answer the charges against him. It should be noted that Lawler has already started making light of the whole situation in Memphis Wrestling by bringing in former Memphis-area manager Scott Bowden saying that Corrente sent Bowden after him.

On a related Memphis note, GeorgiaWrestling.com has confirmed that Ronald Paul Gossett passed away last night in a Nashville hosptial. He had been diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year. Gossett was a former heel manager for the Memphis-based USWA in the 1990s and made a cameo appearance during the early "Double J" Jeff Jarrett vignettes produced by the then WWF to introduce Jarrett to the company. On behalf of the entire WrestleView.com staff, we would like to send out our condolences to the family and friends of Ronald Gossett during this very hard time.
