Associated Press: Contract for "Pacman" Jones to go TNA not signed yet

The following was issued by the Associated Press:

Agent: Pacman won't wrestle in deal with TNA

NASHVILLE (AP) — Adam "Pacman" Jones won't be wrestling in a deal being finalized with TNA Entertainment as the Titans cornerback works to keep himself busy during his season-long suspension from the NFL.

"Anyone who has seen wrestling knows there are other opportunities to be involved," Jones' attorney Worrick Robinson said Tuesday.

The contract hasn't been signed yet, and TNA, which is headquartered in Nashville and has weekly shows on the Spike TV cable channel, declined to comment Tuesday except to say an announcement is expected by the end of this week.

Agent Michael Huyghue said Jones' first appearance with TNA could come the weekend of Aug. 11-12, when his teammates in Tennessee will be starting their preseason schedule with their first exhibition against Washington on that Saturday.

Huyghue said they are very mindful that Jones' NFL contract prohibits him from any non-football activities that could hurt him enough to keep him from playing football. He said they have talked with the Titans to make it clear what the former West Virginia Univeresity standout would be doing.

"I think the club wants to see him do something, obviously, while we've got this time off before we report back. His intent is only to make appearances and do things and not get into any kind of physical activity that's going to jeopardize his health," Huyghue said.
