Ring of Honor's Gabe Sapolsky confirmed on ROHwrestling.com that Bryan Danielson was found to have a detached retina after meeting with an eye specialist on Monday. Danielson underwent laser surgery where they re-attached the retina and tightened the muscles around the eye. He is slated to be out of action for 4-6 weeks.

Sapolsky wrote the following about Danielson's injury at ROH's event in Manhattan this past weekend: "Everyone was in a great mood backstage and that quickly changed when Bryan sat down and word began to spread. The entire crew came over to see how Bryan was doing, who of course was taking it like a champ and saying it was no big deal. His eye was telling a different story. As the doctor was looking at it, his eye was rolled back into his head and it stayed that way. Bryan couldn't control it. It was really hard to look at. I can't even imagine how Bryan got through this."

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that as a result of Danielson being out of action, the NWA World Heavyweight Title Tournament final match on September 1 in Bayamon, PR has now been changed to Brent Albright vs. Adam Pearce.
