Cherry Bomb Injured at GCW: Caged In Angus, Ontario Sept. 7

Cherry took a bad fall during a promo spot hyping the main event after her match with Danyah and was taken to hospital by Emergency Medical Sevices personnel. The incident occurred when Dangerboy Derek Wylde was demanding that the Cage Match pitting him & Otis Idol against Jake O’Reilly & Crazy Steve be cancelled.

Wylde grabbed Cherry and hoisted her up on his shoulders, threatening to “break her neck" if his demands weren’t met. Wylde released Cherry but then scooped her up again and dropped her. Eye witness accounts describe Cherry landing “badly" with her chin taking the brunt of the impact.

Fans believed Cherry’s distress was “part of the show" but Jake O’Reilly quickly realized something was wrong and began shouting for help. Most people still hadn’t grasped the seriousness of the situation even as Cherry’s “hated rival" Danyah ran from the back to check on her. Dr Mask also realized this wasn’t a “work" and called 911. An ambulance arrived within 5 minutes.

EMS attended to Cherry at the venue then transported her to the hospital where x-rays revealed no serious structural damage. Further details of possible soft tissue injury are unknown but reports are that Cherry is “ok" and will recover completely. There is no word yet on whether the popular star will miss any bookings due to the incident.

**Update**

Jake O'Reilly:

Cherry is ok. She is resting right now with an extremely stiff neck and is waiting to eat her Fruit Loops and Fudgeeos when she wakes up. Thanks for all your concern.

The show opened with The Union President, Austin Shaw, welcoming fans and inviting everyone to become “Union members." ($12 gets you a T-shirt & union membership!)

Shaw went on to talk about the state of the Union and how there was no current Heavyweight Champion. He was interrupted by John McChesney, the last Union champ. McChesney was interrupted by Sebastian Dark, the first Union Champ. They all got to talking and Shaw said they would fight in an Anything Goes Match on the Oct 6th show. This didn’t sit well with McChesney & Dark so they had a little scuffle right then but nothing came of it.
