Live report from WWE Unforgiven PPV in Memphis (Dark Match - more)
On Monday, September 17, 2007 at 3:48 PM EST Bigboy Hollywood sent in the following live report from last night's WWE Unforgiven PPV in Memphis, TN:
I attended Unforgiven last night and I thought it was great to be there seeing as it was my very first PPV event and now the notes:
It was a pretty full crowd...not a sellout but pretty damn close to it.
There were the typical "woos" before the show and me and my bros started a "Bring back Cryme Tyme" chant then ended that chant with a "Money Money Yeah Yeah" which the rest of the crowd bought into. Hope Vince was listening.
Kane beat Kenny Dykstra in a dark match: The crowd was pretty into it.
CM Punk v. Elijah Burke: Slow paced but the crowd was big time behind Punk early but as things slowed down it was like they didn't care anymore.
MVP/Matt Hardy v. Deuce & Domino: This crowd loves MVP and they were behind Hardy as well. Pretty entertaining and popped on Hardy's version of MVP's "Ballin" move as well as when MVP eventually showed Hardy how it was done. Good match.
Triple H v. Carlito: Triple H is MAD over with the Memphis crowd. There was a "Whoop That Trick" chant which me and bros started and the crowd caught on.
Candice Michelle v. Beth Phoenix: Surprisingly good match and the finish wasn't bad either. Crowd's interest was pretty good...damn Phoenix looks big!!!
Great Khali v. Batista v. Rey Mysterio: Khali is freaking huge!!!! Crowd obviously behind the faces but more so Batista. My section was shocked that Batista won the belt but good reaction. Match of the night!!!
Cade & Murdoch v. London & Kendrick: Crowd got into it late...Slight "We want Cryme Tyme" chants. They would've made the match better than it was. Good but not worth of a PPV.
John Cena v. Randy Orton: Cena fans and Cena haters were split right down the middle. I unfortunately was in a Orton section where my two dimwitted bros were chanting for Orton and telling me that I was outnumbered. (Yeah I'm a Cena fan and that ain't gonna change.) Dissapointed in the DQ finish. Had there been more of a match and some FUs or RKOs during the match leading the DQ it would've made sense. Even though my bros were cheering for Orton even they marked out when Cena's dad kicked Orton in the head. Neither really acknowledged the crowd.
Undertaker v. Mark Henry: Mark Henry comes out to a 3-6 Mafia song in Memphis (just something to think about there unfortunately no live performance by the group) However Undertaker got a HUGE pop but that's to be expected considering it was his return match. Actual match sucked mainly cause of Henry's slow ass. During the match he kept doing those damn splashes and we started chanting "Do something else!!!" As for the entrance...well let's just say it was better than any Wrestlemania entrance!!! They raised the Unforgiven logo on the entrance set during Coach's promo with the Cenas.
Overall good PPV to be there for but it could've been better. The crowd was great though however out in the streets outside Fedex Forum people were driving by with random "woos" and of course we joined them. I kept holding up Cena's "Word Life" sign a couple of people joined me in that.
