PWInsider is reporting that last night's 10/8 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw drew a final and very low 2.8 cable rating according to Nielsen Media Research. Both hours of the show only drew a 2.8. This is down from last week's 3.2 rating.

While it's possible there could have been a problem with Nielsen's numbers, this is not good news for WWE coming off a PPV that saw a new WWE Champion being crowned. It should be noted that Raw went up against both "Monday Night Football" on ESPN (which did a 10.0 cable rating for the Cowboys vs. Bills) and the Indians-Yankees game (which did a 7.0 cable rating).

WWE has gone up against football and playoff games before in the past and have never seen a drop this low before. This is by far the lowest number WWE has drawn all year on USA and easily one of the lowest ratings for Raw in probably the last ten years. We will continue to follow this situation if anything at Nielsen caused the number to be reported so low or if this was indeed the final number.
