I went to the Smackdown/ECW House show in Brussels; here are the results :
Howard Finkel came out to welcome us and presented "The Extreme Dictator" Armando Estrada who informed us that we would get to see an ECW Championship match later in the evening.
Jesse and Festus defeated Deuce and Domino with Sherry.
Kevin Thorn defeated some new guy.
Chuck Palumbo defeated Dave Taylor.
MVP defeated Matt Hardy to remain US Champion. The interaction between these two is fantastic, the crowd loved it !
Michelle McCool won a "best body contest" from Maryse, Victoria and Katrina; after the public decided Michelle was the winner, Victoria attacked her.
After the interval, CM Punk defeated John Morisson and retained the ECW Championship, but got attacked after the match by Matt Striker and then squashed by Big Daddy V. CM PUNK chants throughout the match, he is a very big fan favourite, even here in Europe.
Undertaker and Kane defeated Finlay and Chris Masters. Funny moment when Hornswoggle came out from under the ring during the match. The crowd went ballistic when Taker came out, biggest pop of the evening by far ! His entrance still gives people goosebumps, everybody in the house went nuts...
Batista won a Three Way World Championship match against Rey Misterio and The Great Khali and celebrated in the ring afterwards for about 15 minutes with a Belgian flag in one hand and the title in the other. Great way to end a great show. Batista went to the back after 5 minutes of celebrating but came back again when the crowd kept yelling his name. Don't know why Batista has a bit of a bad rep in the states; over here he is so over, and he really looked like he loved every minute of the standing ovation he got...
Finkel promised that they'd come back to Brussels and I sure hope they do; it was a great show !
Biggest pops :
1) UNDERTAKER , by far
2) BATISTA, the fans chanted his name even before the event begun, when he came out and when he took the time to celebrate with the fans after the match, the house erupted completely !
3) REY MISTERIO, KANE, MATT HARDY and CM PUNK got equally big reactions
Most heat :
1) KHALI, what a monster...
2) FINLAY
3) ESTRADA
