STATE OF THE UNION #14

UIPW News for 15 Oct 2007

HEADLINES

~ And the 8th and final spot in the tournament goes to....

~ The complete list of challengers for CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT 2K7

~ Union Workers win titles on both sides of the Atlantic

THE 8TH MAN IS ANNOUNCED.

Former Ring Of Honor Tag Team champion. Former IWC Heavyweight champion. Former PWU Tag Team champion. One half of the Havana Pitbulls and member of the infamous Rottweilers stable. Master of the Dragon Sleeper and one of the hardest-hitting, most brutal competitors on the indy wrestling scene.

RICKY REYES is the 8th and final wrestler to be entered into the tournament to crown a new Union Heavyweight champion. Reyes, who made his Union debut at October's STATE OF SHOCK event, impressed Union officials enough to earn the final spot in the tournament. And Reyes will not only have a shot at the title on November 3rd, he'll also have a shot at revenge.

We can now also announce the first of the four opening round tournament match-ups will see Ricky Reyes in a rematch against "The King of Iron City Hardcore", STERLING JAMES KEENAN. Can Ricky rebound from October's disappointment and advance in the tournament or will Keenan make it 2-and-0 against Reyes on his way to championship gold?

UNION WORKERS FIGHT THEIR WAY TO EVEN MORE GOLD

Two of the eight men entered into November's Union Heavyweight title tournament prepared for November 3rd by winning gold over the weekend. First, STERLING JAMES KEENAN defeated former ECW star ULF HERMAN for the 1PW Heavyweight title in a cage match in Doncaster, England. Keenan has blossomed into a top star in England since being recruited by then-1PW Head of Talent Relations ANTHONY KINGDOM JAMES two years ago.

And on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, PEPPER PARKS deafeated EDDIE OSBOURNE and DEREK WYLDE for the PWA Niagara championship. Osbourne, who went into this 3-way elimination match as the champion, has been suffering through a streak of bad luck of late, including two losses in the Union. He'll need to regain his winning form to take advantage of his spot in the Union championship tournament: an early gift from Anthony Kingdom James.

Everyone involved with UIPW would like to congratulate both Keenan and Parks on their winning ways this weekend and wish them luck at CHAMPIONSHIP EVENT 2K7.
