David Sumroy sent this report in from the ECW & Smackdown tapings in Birmingham, England on Tuesday:

Hi I've just got back from the Smackdown/ECW show in the NIA in Birmingham, England. The crowd was pretty loud all night, and overall a great night of WWE action. Here are the results.

Dark Match

Tommy Dreamer vs ??

Didn't catch the name of the other guy, but he pretty much dominated Dreamer all match, until Dreamer came out with the big DDT to win it. Crowd was pretty in to the match too, and very pro Dreamer.

ECW tapings:

John Morrison comes out, and goes on about being the top guy in ECW, and how he deserves to be voted by the fans at Cyber Sunday to take on CM Punk for the title. The Miz then comes out and gives his usual chick magnet spiel. Morrison says he thought he was vain, but Miz..! Then they argue with each other a bit, with Morrison even saying he is bigger than The Beatles...hmmm I'm sure. Very funny, the fans kept chanting 'Who are ya?' to the Miz all night. This brings out Big Daddy V, with Striker in tow. Wow this guy is big, in every possible way! Got a bit of a pop too, probably fans relieved they didn't have to listen to any more of Morrison/Miz. Striker then claims that V should be voted, and V growls something, didn't catch what. Then CM Punk comes out to a fairly big pop. He says he wondered who he would pick, then said that he would have a partner against the 3 of them tonight in a match. He said there was no stipulation as to which brand they should be from, then BOOM, out comes Kane to a very big pop. This leads to..

Morrison/Miz/Big Daddy V vs CM Punk/Kane

Punk and specifically Kane looked dominant early on, but the 3 eventually took over. Crowd was well into this match..plenty of CM Punk chants. Big stare off with V and Kane (who looked quite skinny in comparison). Kane eventually pinned Miz I think, with a huge choke slam. Not a bad match, but nothing special.

Backstage Miz and Morrison are arguing, and Morrison challenges Miz to a match. Miz says hell no he just got choke slammed by Kane. But then he cheap shots Morrison, and says your on.

We then see Armando and Vickie Guerrero talking, Estrada thanks Vickie for using Kane. Vickie then says she also brought a tag team from Smackdown tonight. In come Jesse & Festus...big pop for them. Armando isn't convinced, especially about Festus, but they are put in a match anyway.

Balls is in the back talking about how unfair it is he cant go out with Kelly. She then comes up to him, and says she knows she shouldnt do this, but she asks him out. He gets all excited, and says we have a lot to organise! They then skip off into the distance..

Nunzio/Elijah Burke v Jesse & Festus

Festus' face of course went all agressive as soon as the bell rang. Crowd were very into Festus. Jesse looks half ok in the ring too. Not the longest match...it ends when Burke walks away, leaving Nunzio to be pinned by Jesse. Of course once the match finishes, Festus' face returns to normal!

Morrison v Miz

Crowd weren't digging this match, not too much in the way of support for either. Even a 'you both suck' chant. In the end Big Daddy V comes out and destroys both to end the show.

SMACKDOWN Tapings:

Great Khali v Kane

Great Khali comes out. This man is HUGE! He got more of a reaction than he seems to on TV too. Plenty of heat. His opponent..Kane. Once again the Big Red MAchine comes out to a very big pop, and not for the first time tonight, Kane looks small. The match is, well, a bit clumsy, but ends pretty decent, with Kane winning by DQ, with Khali choking him with a wire i think. Kane then retaliates by flooring Khali with the bell. However Big Daddy V then comes out, and floors Kane with a big Samoan drop.

We hear at some point backstage from Striker and V, and they say that Big Daddy V will be moving to Smackdown.

Chuck Palumbo v Chris Masters

Palumbo comes out to a semi-decent pop, while Masters gets pretty good heat. A fairly solid match, which Masters wins, when Victoria destracts Michelle McCool, which in turn destracts Chuck. Masters gets the role up and the tights.

Matt Hardy v Finlay

Before the match MVP says he will have Hardy's back. Hardy says thanks but no thanks. The match itself was pretty good. Hardy gets a very good pop, and Finlay gets a mixed reaction. During the match, the crowd were going to and fro with 'Lets go Hardy', 'Lets go Finlay' etc. Match ends when Finlay goes to get the shillelaigh, MVP comes out and pushes the shillelaigh away from Finlay, which lets Matt hit the Twist of Fate for the win.

Drew McIntyre v Brian Major

McIntyre comes out with Dave Taylor. No-one seems to know McIntyre, however a couple of chants for Taylor. Very quite match for the crowd, many took the chance for a toilet break. Couple of 'boring' chants too. Nothing special, but McIntyre gets the win.

JBL comes into the ring to interview Batista. JBL gets a good pop, plenty of boos though, and JBL chants. JBL says people are voting for him to be the special referee in Batista-'Taker match at Cyber Sunday, and gets everyone to chant his name. J..B..L. The crowd replied J..B..L...sucks. Batista comes out to one of the biggest pops of the night (as expected). Few words exchanged and then Batista starts to leave the ring. JBL calls him a coward before Batista leaves, then Batista turns around and spears JBL out of his shoes.

Deuce 'n' Domino v Shannon Moore/Jimmy Wang Yang

Fairly quick, but decent match. Yang gets the win with a moonsault off the top.

Jamie Noble is in the back with Vickie Guerrero in a very funny segment. Noble asks what he did wrong last week, for having to face Khali. He apologises and realises what a difficult job she has been thrust into. He offers his help with anything in the show. Vickie says he can be in a match..against Undertaker. Crowd goes nuts. Noble goes absolutely mad...funny stuff.

Undertaker v Jamie Noble

Crowd were obviously very happy to see 'taker. That entrance really is great. Noble comes out scared. Very quick match, which Taker wins with a Choke slam, then tombstone. After the match Noble seems to be injured, and a few refs come down to help him back. He gets some good positive support from the crowd too.

MVP v Rey Mysterio

Huge pop for Rey, MVP gets a big reaction too, very mixed. A solid match, with MVP getting the DQ win. Finlay interferes and attacks MVP to get revenge for earlier. He then goes after Rey, who gets the better of him eventually, and show finishes with Rey celebrating.

Post-show shennanigans:

Rey is celebrating with the ringside crowd (most of the audience had already left by this point), and he goes over to the commentary table and takes JBL's hat, puts it on and goes into the ring. JBL comes after Rey, but then fakes not going after him, and attacks him from behind. JBL does a couple of moves, but then Rey ends up getting the better of him, and 619's him. Rey leaves JBL lying in the ring, with his shirt over his face. No bonus match, but this was a small consolation!

Overall a great show, my first for 5 years, and WWE has changed a lot since then.

Biggest pops:

1) Undertaker
2) Batista
3) Rey Mysterio
4) Matt Hardy
5) CM Punk

Most heat:

1) Finlay
2) John Morrison
3) The Miz
4) Great Khali
5) MVP
