Anderson made his decision known via a phone conversation stating that he realized it was time to move on and focus on family. Anderson hadn't wrestled for the last two months since his release from WWE as part of the company's ECW brand, briefly returning to Japan and working for some independent promotions in the Mid-Atlantic region.
