  • IPW:UK Kick Off Orpington 2008 With No Escape, January 27th ft the WWE’s former EUGENE!!

» When IPW:UK weren’t able to end 2007 with a bang, it was decided that 2008 would therefore have to start with an even BIGGER bang that 2007 could have possibly ended! And as such, IPW:UK are happy to report that the ANDY BOY SIMMONZ VS. JOHNNY SAINT match that was set for December 16th, featuring Johnny Saint coming out of retirement for his first title match in over 10 years, will now take place on January 27th!

But that’s not all – in addition to a legend of British wrestling, we have a superstar of recent WWE fame, in the WWE’s former EUGENE! Who will U-Gene take on from the IPW:UK locker-room come January 27th?

Plus, matches from the British National Championship as Johnny Moss makes his Orpington debut, and Jody Fleisch and Leroy Kincaide make their first appearances in Orpington for a combined 2 years!

  • More Matches Signed For No Escape!

» The British National Championship is going strong, and with just a splattering of matches still to come in the first round bracket, the second round is taking firm shape. With some big names already out, and some sailing through, it’s time for those who still remain to man up and stride into round 2.

On January 27th we see the following first round matchups:

    - ‘The Phoenix’ will fly again in Orpington, as Jody Fleisch takes on wrestler turned musical rap superstar Leroy Kincaide

    - One of the stars of Northern wrestling, ‘The Vigilante’ Johnny Moss makes his Orpington debut as a strong favourite against RQW’s own JP Monroe.

    - And finally, the plucky young Spud will go one-on-one against long-term rival ‘The Human Hate Machine’ Dave Moralez in singles action. One of the toughest to call matches in the whole of the first round bracket, this one could go literally either way.

» In addition to those three matches however, fans will be pleased to hear confirmed in the opening newsbit that Andy Boy Simmonz will indeed defend his IPW:UK title against the British Legend that is the one and only Johnny Saint.

Saint will also be taking that day’s IPW:UK in-ring training, and for more information on that and all other sessions, check out http://www.ipwuktraining.com.

» Blok Busta’s challenge for currently missing in action former IPW:UK Champion, JC Thunder, to come to Orpington to go face to face with him has not been forgotten, and still stands for January 27th!

» And finally, The Big Bald Bastards (Ryan/Bones), The Leaders of the New School (Robinson, Scurll & Brixton), IPW:UK Tag Team Champions The Kartel and many more have all been signed to appear, including of course the former IPW:UK Champion himself, ‘The Guvnor’ Martin Stone!

  • A FREE Afternoon Of Action Starting At 3.15!

» That’s right fans, IPW:UK will still be delivering on our Christmas gift to you all, and then some. December was to host a special *FREE* wrestling card, running for one hour before the evening show begins, but alas it was not to be.

Fast forward to January 27th, and IPW:UK will be delivering the Christmas Cracker afternoon card that never was. The scheduled 3-way and tag team bouts will still occur, and there will be one extra addition to the three match card, as we see:

In the British National Championship, first round: ‘The Anarchist’ ‘The Anarchist’ Doug Williams vs. Marty Scurll (of the Leaders of the New School)!

You will NOT want to miss this *first time ever* meeting of the pair!

    Other News::

CHIKARA: Pre-season extravaganza comes to Moravian College on Jan 27th!

Earlier this week, we unveiled plans for the 2008 edition of King of Trios - but before that gets here, we're going to shake off the ring rust and get all warmed up with a special pre-season show at Moravian College, right in our old stomping grounds of the Lehigh Valley!

Together with Moravian College's Multi-cultural Club, we're going to raise some money for a worthy charity to be jointly selected by us both (more details on that soon), and we need to drum up a healthy crowd not just for a worthy cause, but to help ease the stars of CHIKARA out of their winter hibernation a little earlier than usual. Fans of ours from Hellertown will want to make sure to drop in and see us January 27th - we won't be back to the Lehigh Valley again for a few months.

For one day only, we're going to add the Claudio Castagnoli vs. Chris Hero match from our December event to the CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go iTunes feed. So, if you're a subscriber to our regular, weekly podcast, on New Year's Day, January 1st, you're going to get a special surprise when you open up iTunes. You don't have to do a thing.

If you are not yet a subscriber to CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go, don't sweat it! It's easy, and it's free. Just look up "wrestling" podcasts in the iTunes store, and you'll find the Go-Go waiting for you there. Click the "subscribe" button, and the rest is history. Make sure you subscribe no later than New Year's Day, and you'll be able to enjoy this outstanding match up for FREE. And tell all your pals, too. Saturday night, December 29: 12:00 midnight; 1:00 am
Sunday night, December 30: 10:00 pm
Tuesday night, January 1: 2:00 am

    Currently scheduled for the broadcast:

Josh Prohibition vs. “Megastar" Marion Fontaine
Josh Prohibition and Johnny Gargano proved to be a very successful duo on our last broadcast of PWO TV, when they used their skill, resourcefulness and a little chicanery to down the team of “M-Dogg 20" Matt Cross and “Fabulous" John McChesney. With no one having heard from either Cross or McChesney since the loss a week ago, one has to wonder if Prohibition & Gargano have successfully eliminated two of their most threatening rivals. This week, Prohibition enters singles competition against one man who’s no stranger to threatening rivals, Marion Fontaine. While Fontaine may be undersized and outmatched on the surface, the Megastar has a heart and athletic prowess that more than makes up for any physical shortcomings, as evidenced by Fontaine taking the monstrous Cronus to his absolute limit on our last broadcast. Will Prohibition be able to continue his winning ways or will the tenacity of Fontaine win out? And what about Fontaine’s apparent manager… “Macho Grosh"?!?

Jason Bane vs. “Amazing" N8 Mattson
He is already on his way to establishing himself as the most dominant man in the state of Ohio. He’s at least 6’7", he’s at least 300 lbs. and he is an absolute wrecking machine named Jason Bane. In his PWO debut, Bane quickly disposed of three different men in a gauntlet match, and now has his sights set one-on-one. N8 Mattson is a physically impressive star from the Michigan area, part of the “Michigan Invasion" tag team which stresses anyone from their home state is superior to all others. Will Michigan win out this time or will the huge Jason Bane continue his stretch of domination?

    “Bloody" Morty Rackem vs. Virus
Our debut broadcast of PWO TV featured a fast-paced, action-packed, high-flying showcase of two amazing teams: Virus & Virus Grande, collectively known as V-Squared, and “Bloody" Morty Rackem & “Ruthless" Rufio Rapier, collectively known as The Cut Throat Crew. After V-Squared cheated to come out on top, and The CTC retaliated by commandeering V-Squared’s car, PWO management wanted to bring you a special return bout this week, but apparently an incident has occurred to prevent that. Rumors state that an altercation occurred between V-Squared and Rufio Rapier in an undisclosed location that left Rufio with career-threatening injuries. Not only that, but sources also indicate that V-Squared made off with the Cut Throat Crew’s priceless heirloom swords. How will Morty Rackem react to his fallen partner and will he be able to survive Virus one-on-one and retrieve the prized swords he holds in such high regard?

Tune in the weekend of December 29th for all that and more! Remember, Pro Wrestling Ohio is only available on Sports Time Ohio! If Sports Time Ohio is NOT part of your DirecTV or Dish Network package, no matter where in the U.S. you are, call your satellite provider today and demand STO!
