PWInsider is reporting that during a pre-show meeting at the site of last night's Final Resolution PPV in Orlando, TNA's Terry Taylor informed all talent that the company would be instituting drug tests starting at the January 21/22 TV tapings for Impact.

The belief at this time is that these will be baseline tests to determine levels of use for steroids, painkillers and other illegal narcotics such as marijuana. It was not made clear if there would be any punishment for offenses except that baseline testing would be happening.

It should be noted that TNA talent at the meeting today seemed very receptive to the idea, which is something that has been talked about internally for many months now. Some talent were reportedly expecting the company to start testing in October following the Bound For Glory PPV, but that never ended up taking place.
