PWU 2/16 @ 2:30: Mercedes Martinez Returns! AMIL-Bosom Buddies & More
http://www.ProWrestlingUnplugged.com

Pro Wrestling Unplugged is just a few weeks away from "Last Chance: Do or Die" on Saturday, February 16 at 2:30 pm in the New Alhambra Arena, 7 Ritner ST in Philadelphia, PA.

SHEEEEE's BAAAAAACK!
MERCEDES MARTINEZ makes her first in-ring return in almost a year at PWU! And her sites are set on what she lost, the PWU Women's championship. But she's not alone. No stranger to competition, SARA DEL RAY also returns on February 16. And CINDY ROGERS, the former champ, is screaming bloody murder for her own title shot.

PWU Owner TOD GORDON has declared a three way dream dance to determine who will get a future shot at the PWU Women's championship, making it MERCEDES MARTINEX vs. SARA DEL RAY vs. CINDY ROGERS.

‘LAST CHANCE' FOR BOSOM BUDDIES
DREW BLOOD & TEDDY FINE have had to survive the onslaught of ALL MONEY IS LEGAL and the antics of PWU Commissioner "Juggs" aka STEPHANIE FLASH. But on February 16, it will be THE BOSOM BUDDIES ‘last chance' for the PWU Tag Team Titles against ALL MONEY IS LEGAL.

WHO IS ‘THE BEST AROUND'?
When LUCKY & "Don't call me JC Ryda" ORANGE CASSIDY teamed up once again at PWU as the NEW JERSEY ALL STARS & won their match last month, in their own excitement, they called themselves ‘the best around'. But TJ CANNON & BRUCE MAXWELL aka THE BEST AROUND had something to say about that. So, to set the record straight, it will be THE BEST AROUND vs. THE NEW JERSEY ALL STARS.

ALREADY ANNOUNCED:
* LADDER MATCH for the PWU WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: champion ADAM FLASH vs. JOHN McCHESNEY - if FLASH wins TOD GORDON leaves PWU & if McCHESNEY wins, STEPHANIE FLASH loses her job as PWU Commissioner

PWU POWER SURGE TV!

PTW sent this in:

As ever, PTW Owner Peter Staniforth has decided to change the card just a little bit last minute. You can always be sure that he's up to something, and this time it's big.

Making his PTW debut, is one intense man. He is former 3CW World Champion, and current 1PW star - the man known as Dragon Aisu. He contacted the PTW Office, and demanded a match already signed to be changed. He said that he wanted to team with Cameron Kraze against Prince Mohamed Ameen, in what will be an explosive tag team encounter that could main event anywhere around the United Kingdom. We welcome Dragon Aisu to Power Trip Wrestling, but with a slightly nervous feeling of what might be to come........

Here's an in-depth preview of the show, as we get even closer to PTW's first show of the year, 'New Beginnings', on Saturday 2nd February; in Wakefield!

MAIN EVENT : FOR THE VACANT PTW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE - SHABAZZ w/PTW OWNER PETER STANIFORTH VS 'EXOTIC' LEO DEKKER

In the main event of the evening, PTW's most popular star Shabazz, will face off against the debuting 'Exotic' Leo Dekker. Dekker, despite his bizarre appearance, can get the job done, and has held the heavyweight title of other companies in the past. In a interesting side note, this was under the management of no less than PTW Owner Peter Staniforth himself. But Peter will be in the corner of Shabazz on February 2nd, does this give the advantage to Shabazz? Or has Leo Dekker changed his gameplan to render this irrelevant? One thing is for sure, despite an unstable end to 2007 with unprofessional attitudes from now former PTW wrestlers; there WILL be a new heavyweight champion crowned on the night and PTW's future will be assured from then on.

PTW CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH - DAN RYDER (c) VS G 'THE GHETTO SUPERSTAR'

The bad feeling between G 'The Ghetto Superstar', and Dan Ryder; goes back to August 2007 and PTW 'Glory Days' in Luton. G won the title, and it seemed Ryder just couldn't accept his friend's success. Ryder would hit him with the title belt, and G's reign lasted just one month as Dan defeated him in September and has held the championship since. But it's a new year, it's 2008, and both men are ready to fight one more time with it all on the line. Added to the tension, is the fact that the entire match could rest on the result of another match scheduled on the card....

WINNER IS ALLOWED TO BE RINGSIDE FOR THE PTW CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH - GERADEN VS DANNY DEVINE

Both men in this match have teamed up with the participants in the Cruiserweight Title match, Geraden with G; and Danny Devine with Dan Ryder (collectively known as 3Some). Both wanted to be at ringside for their friend, but were told that whichever one would be there - would EARN it. Can the fast paced rising star of Geraden, defeat Danny Devine, and make sure G's back is secure for any potential dirty tricks from Dan Ryder? Or will the cunning but very talented Danny Devine pull a rabbit from his hat, and put the youngster in his place with his usual mix of wrestling and underhanded tactics?

TAG TEAM ACTION - CAMERON KRAZE & DRAGON AISU VS PRINCE MOHAMED AMEEN & MARTIN KIRBY

Here's a potential show stealer, according to PTW fans. Looking at the participants, Dragon Aisu will be wanting to make the kind of impact that only he can, on his PTW debut. Cameron Kraze hasn't been in PTW for a few months, and will be looking at this as a chance to justify a regular place on the shows. Ameen is looking at PTW as a place to try and take over. Kirby has always had excellent matches when appearing for PTW, and will be wanting to keep that reputation going. As said earlier, this one could main event around the country!

JAY COOL w/PETER STANIFORTH VS MR PORTUGAL

Jay Cool is a relative newcomer to professional wrestling, and is one half of the tag team known as Team Woo!. Cool's tag team partner was recently injured on another show, and Jay asked for this match against Mr Portugal; and he believes he knows who is under the mask. He won't say, but hopes to win the match, unmask Mr Portugal, and prove it. Mr Portugal was reached for comment, but translation proved that he was purely taking advantage of PTW's inability to speak Portugese and not taking it seriously. Either that, or he really DOES have some kind of infatuation with Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United!

TAG TEAM ACTION - 'THE NATURAL SUPERSTARS' DARREN MASON & NATHAN IRWIN VS KYLE ASHMORE & '100 %' DAN EDGE

The team of Darren Mason & Nathan Irwin are looking to show Power Trip Wrestling that they're worthy of being around on a regular basis, and they've got to prove it against Kyle Ashmore and Dan Edge. Edge is a PTW regular, and has an ongoing power struggle with Peter Staniforth. Is Edge looking to recruit talent in his attempt to eventually take over Power Trip Wrestling? Or will Mason and Irwin live up to their team name, and take the victory?

'GOLDEN GLOVES' PAUL MCSHERRY w/PETER STANIFORTH VS MATT MYERS

In what was a contender for the most shocking moment of 2007 in Power Trip Wrestling, at 'Hardcore Halloween' in October Paul McSherry jumped 'to the good side', as Peter Staniforth put it tactfully; and accepted a position as Peter's new bodyguard. Paul is on the rise, not just in PTW but in other companies too; and he's looking to show that his reputation is justified as a future star and also a legitimate tough guy. Matt Myers is sort of a Northern mirror image of McSherry, and this should be a fascinating clash.

HE'S BACK! - JOHN CHAPMAN'S PTW RETURN - JOHN CHAPMAN VS STEVIE LEE

One of the loudest characters in UK Wrestling is back in Power Trip Wrestling for the first time since PTW 'Superstitious' in April 2007, and that is John Chapman. Despite his arrogance and other dubious characteristics, Power Trip Wrestling is both happy and proud to welcome him back; as he faces off against another returnee; this time from July 2007's breast cancer fundraising charity show 'Faith, Hope, & Charity'- Stevie Lee. This should be a great match, with the sneaky Chapman taking on the perennial underdog in Lee.

NWA/Pittsburgh sent this in:

The resurgence of the National Wrestling Alliance will be on display at
NWA East/PWX February Fury this Saturday February 2nd at the Jacob Woll
Pavilion in McKeesport, Pa. as this show will feature starts from many NWA
territories including NWA Virginia, NWA Upstate, and NWA Empire as well as
all the regular stars of NWA East. Three huge inter-territorial matches
will headline this card.

Inter territorial Match
NWA National Heavyweight Title Match
NWA Empire/Upstate v. NWA East

Pepper Parks (C) v. Crusher Hansen

Parks, the self proclaimed "Patrick Swayze of Pro Wrestling" will make his
first appearance at NWA East when he defends his National heavyweight
title against former 5 time NWA East heavyweight champion Crusher Hansen.
Hansen's hard hitting style will be a challenge for the current champion;
however, Parks has proven before he will do anything to win. In addition,
Parks is riding a wave of momentum from some recent high profile wins,
including one against "The Notorious 187" Homicide.

Inter territorial Match
NWA North American Tag Team Title Match
NWA East v. NWA Virginia

The Wrong Crowd (C) w/ Curtis Stevenson v. Lance Lube and J-Sin

The new North American tag team champions will have their first defense
against the team from NWA Virginia. The Wrong Crowd has recently
challenged any team in the NWA to step up and shut them up. Lance Lube and
J-Sin were quick to answer the challenge. It will be interesting as The
Wrong Crowd will be wrestling on their home turf but are unlikely to
receive a friendly welcome from the crowd.

!Inter territorial Match!
Winner will receive a title shot at the National Heavyweight title on Feb 15.
NWA Virginia v. NWA East

"Flawless" Brandon Day v. "The Untouchable" Chris LeRusso

Two of the top young stars in the NWA will lock up with a shot at the
National Heavyweight title on the line. Both of these men have had success
in their respective companies. Day is a former 2 time NWA Virginia Alpha
champion and LeRusso is a former NWA East Brass Knuckles champions as well
as the current NWA East 3 Rivers champions. LeRusso recently challenged
"Lightning" Mike Quackenbush for the NWA Jr. Heavyweight title but is now
equally focused on a chance at the National heavyweight title. However,
LeRusso's championship desires could be quickly ended by the very
impressive Brandon Day. Both men will be fighting for pride and a chance
at gold.

The Winner of the fall gets a shot at the NWA East Heavyweight title

Brandon K and Chris Taylor v. "The Screaming Climax" Dirk Cigler and
"Spotlight" Scottie Gash

The current NWA East Heavyweight champion has been on a tear recently and
causing nothing but trouble in NWA East. Last show, Ciger and K were
competing in a match to determine a new #1 contender for the NWA East
heavyweight belt when The Spotlight interfered, attacking both men. Later
than night, Gash wrestled a weakened and concussed Chris Taylor. Taylor
put up a hell of a fight but the interference of Gash's entourage insured
a victory for the Spotlight. This match was made by the championship
committee, insuring that a new number 1 contender would be named. Gash
will not only have to be worried about Brandon K and Taylor but his own
partner as well. Who ever scores the fall gets a title match anytime they
want.

Many more matches will be announced in the coming week. Check out our
website at www.pwx-online.org for information, directions, and other info.
Pro Wrestling in Pittsburgh is spelled PWX. NWA East/PWX, Upstate,
Virginia, and Empire are all affiliates of the National Wrestling
Alliance.

DING! DONG! The Witch is DEAD!

If the Wizard of Oz has taught me nothing, it taught me that sometimes you can kill the bad guy with a bucket of water. Sometimes, you need to drop a house on him. Last night, Kevin Steen dropped a house on PCP Crazy F’N Manny to become the IWS Champion for the second time.

Detailed Results for Praise the Violence

Praise the Violence started with Sexxxy Eddy unveiling his new look for the IWS fans. Shaved bald, Stone Cold Sexxxy Eddy had a vicious look to complement his new vicious streak. Always looking to push the envelope, Eddy had the crowd convinced that he was going to break wresting (and social) boundaries once again, by fingering his valet Hottie Hollie live on stage, until he gave the audience the finger instead.

Speaking of Hottie Hollie, I have to compliment her dedication to her craft. I have never seen a valet wiggle their ass for the crowd while simultaneously choking a wrestler on the ropes as Hollie did to Lufisto during the match. Probably a good point to drop in my contractually obligated plug for Hollie’s extremely NSFW site: http://www.hottiehollie.com

It was Lufisto who broke the boundaries, yanking Eddy’s thong to give the Medley a full moon (and her a two count), following that up with knife-edged chops to Eddy’s ass.

Things IWS refs have to do that refs in other feds never even have to think of (#198 in a series): Pull up Eddy’s thong for him.

Lufisto, enraged that Eddy and Hollie cost her the IWS Title at Season’s Beatings 2007, beat Eddy from pillar to post, winning with a reverse rana variant plus a bridge at 10:47. After the match Lufisto grabbed Hollie and spanked her, only to be interrupted by Eddy who broke a chair over Lufisto’s head. With Lufisto KO’d, Eddy kissed Hollie better and then carried her to the back.

Like Lufisto, Twiggy came to the Medley with a grudge. He almost equaled her success when Vanessa Kraven power bombed Shane Matthews and Twiggy followed up with a top rope senton. Unfortunately, Jagged yanked IWS ref Yan out of the ring before he could count the inevitable three. 2.0’s Plan B was stolen directly from Jesse Ventura, “Always CHEAT!" 2.0 isolated Vanessa Kraven by handcuffing Twiigy to the ropes. After two spike pile drivers, 2.0 double-pinned Vanessa Kraven at 9:02.

Jimmy K survived a furious onslaught by an alliance of convenience between Samson, Shayne Hawke and EXesS to win the gauntlet and earn a shot at the IWS title some time in 2008. Jimmy K pinned both EXesS and Samson in turn, taking advantage of Samson’s treacherous sneak attack on Hawke. The gauntlet also saw the return of Paranoid Jake Matthews who destroyed Fred’s groin with a shovel shot before brawling to a count-out with the Green Phantom. Santino Italiano, who lost a match to make the IWS roster at Season’s Beatings 2007, was entered into the gauntlet by his uncle Joey Soprano only to get killed by the Green Phantom with a Phantom Menace through a table.

We had originally announced the gauntlet as being a ten man gauntlet. The tenth man was supposed to be a wrestler managed by Joey Soprano. According to the Parmesan Pimp, he was planning on filling that slot with Santino Italiano, but to Joey’s disgust, Santino was knocked so loopy by the Green Phantom that he was unable to reenter the match.

This just in: Stupefied is not right in the head in a really fun way. It seemed like every time you turned around during the IWS Tag Team Title match, Stupefied was jumping off something usually in some wacky corkscrew with multiple rotations. This kept Up in Smoke and the Untouchables off balance for most of the match and finally led to a spike pile driver on Cloudy for the win at 15:19.

Described by IWS Announcer as a “Blood Relatives Match", the brawl between Kenny the Bastard confirmed a few things: just as Damian said in December, Kenny is the most underrated wrestler on the IWS roster, and Beef Wellington has become an evil conniving son-of-a-bitch. Kenny had a fighting chance to win the match, especially when he stretched Beef out with Beef’s head on the apron and his legs on the ring barrier and then crushed Beef’s ribs with a double foot stomp from the top, but Beef has not just turned mean, he’s turned smart. When Beef was trying to suplex Kenny into the ring from the Medley stage onto two chairs, Beef used the momentum of Kenny’s block to plant Kenny on his face on the stage. This gave Beef the opening to power bomb Kenny from the stage halfway across the ring into two chairs in an absolutely SICK spot.

Beef could have pinned Kenny right there and then, but chose to pull Kenny up at two so that he could try and turn Kenny’s skull into a bowling ball by gouging out Kenny’s eyeballs with is thumbs. Kenny tapped at 13:43, in time to save his eyeballs, but not in time to save his sight. He was, at the very least temporarily blinded thanks to Beef’s corneal massage.

Fred had to limp out from the back to help Kenny get out of the ring and has acted as Kenny’s seeing-eye clown ever since. In talking to Fred, Kenny has started to regain his sight and hopefully will be fully recovered by February 16th, when at Violent Valentine Kenny is scheduled to face Damian in the God of War’s retirement match.

It is almost comical how the first thing that every one who was at Praise the Violence says is some variation of a compliment about how physical and good Sylvain Grenier was. Sly fought like a man who understood that the IWS title is the most important title in Canada and one of the most important on the independent wrestling scene. As did Max Boyer and Franky the Mobster, but if wrestling is the physical manifestation of desire… well, no one wanted to win this physically gruelling match more than Quebec’s Wrestling Godzilla, Kevin Steen who won the match by reversing Franky’s choke slam power bomb into a pin at 10:49.

As soon as he was announced as the winner, Kevin Steen grabbed the mike to say, “I am pretty sure that I just tore my right knee, but I don’t care. So someone tell Manny, that piece of fucking shit, to get out here and let’s do this."

This brought the wrath of 2.0 down on Kevin Steen’s head as Jagged and Shane Matthews softened up Mr. Wrestling for “Uncle Manny" before the official bell. Let’s be clear, the title match was in no way shape and form a wrestling match. It was a brutal hardcore brawl in which both men used everything close to hand from ring barriers to chairs to ladders. The turning point in the match came when Manny orchestrated the IWS ring boys to haul four tables under the balcony. Unfortunately for Manny, he made the huge tactical mistake of climbing out on to the balcony in an attempt to suplex Kevin Steen off the balcony through the tables, but Kevin blocked the suplex attempt and pushed Manny off the balcony.

After dragging Manny back to the ring, Steen tried to finish him off with a package pile driver, but Manny had just enough strength to kick out. At this point, Manny loyalist and long time IWS DJ Stab Tony tried to save Manny’s belt by playing Jimmy K’s music and entrance video in the hopes of distracting Steen. But Mr. Wrestling stayed on target and won the IWS title with a second Package Pile Driver at 9:49.

Of course, the match was about Kevin Steen getting revenge on Manny as much as it was taking the IWS title and Kevin Steen satisfied himself on that score by absolutely crushing Manny’s skull with a chair-shot.

After Kevin Steen won the belt, Max Boyer came out to complain that it should have been him that beat Manny and had both belts. Max challenged Kevin to a match for the IWS title at the next show. Kevin responded, “Hey, I would be happy to face you any time Max, but I already promised a friend of mine that he could have first shot at this belt when I won it. You see, next month at Violent Valentine, for the first time in two years, I am going to face my best opponent, El Generico. And you know what Max? Let me have my moment!"

The IWS is having a Kevin Steen moment.
