Jim Ross & Lance Storm comment on Brock Lesnar's 'UFC' debut - more
On Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 1:44 PM EST Jim Ross and Lance Storm have new commentaries up on their respective websites with thoughts on Brock Lesnar's UFC debut this past Saturday at UFC 81 in Las Vegas.
Here is what Jim Ross had to say:
"Not much fallout from the Brock Lesnar loss to Frank Mir, or so it seems. Lesnar has said the right things since losing by tapout and Brock’s UFC future is still bright, but a nice win in 2008 would not hurt his cause. I talked to Stone Cold Monday morning and he said he enjoyed his Vegas weekend including staying there to watch the Super Bowl. Steve said that it was obvious that Lesnar was in awesome shape, had prepared diligently, but he simply made a simple mistake that any “rookie” would and could make in MMA competition. All my friends that attended the UFC 81 event said without question that Lesnar was the “star attraction” of the night and that most fans were there to see him, especially many of the celebs in attendance."

Here is what Lance Storm had to say:
"From a fan stand point I was disappointed that Brock lost, but thought it was a great fight, and a strong showing by Brock. I don’t know Brock well, but I did work with him in WWE and genuinely liked the guy. I’m a huge Brock supporter and hope he has great success in MMA. Going into the fight I was fairly confident Brock would win, but not completely sure. From what I’d heard about Mir, a win is never a sure thing when fighting that guy, no matter how good you are, and the chance of getting caught in a submission was a real possibility."
