Total Nonstop Action results from TV tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, on February 26: Kevin Nash over A.J. Styles in a street fight match; Curry Man won a sixteen-man battle royal; Tomko over Samoa Joe in a first blood match; Rhino over Judas Mesias; Awesome Kong over Salinas; and Christian Cage over Kurt Angle in a six sides of steel match. Florida Championship Wrestling results from February 26 at the Bourbon Street Night Club in New Port Richey, FL: Mighty Mikey over Sheamus; Hade Vansen & Big Rob over T.J. Wilson & Gabe Tuft; in a bra and panties match, Victoria over Nattie Neidhart; Johnny Curtis & Kevin Kiley over Brad Allen & Nic Nemeth; Heath Miller & Steve Lewington over the FCW Florida Tag Team Champion Puerto Rican Nightmares (Eric Perez & Eddie Colon) by disqualification in a title match; Jake Hager over Rycklon to retain the FCW Florida Heavyweight Title; and a lights out match featuring Afa versus Ted DiBiase, Jr., was ruled a no contest. All-Star Wrestling Network's Adrenaline drew a crowd of 65 at the WrestlePlex in Fort Valley, GA. After forcing AWN CEO Mike Money to re-sign the rematch, Chic Donovan regained the AWN Heavyweight championship from Bill The Kid. In a tag team title match, Danny Horne and Paul Warfield defeated The Slaughter Pit by DQ. In a 2 out of 3 falls match, where the loser must wear a dress until he wins again, Tommy 2 Much defeated Ash. The Georgia Cowboy defeated Iron Will. Q-Ball and Leon Michaels defeated Brokishi and J.J. Flash by DQ. In an inter-gender match, Demenchia defeated The Underfaker. J.D. Nelson was the referee for all of the matches. (Brian Slack)
On March 21 at the National Guard Armory in Phenix City, AL, at 7:30, the Independent Wrestling Network will be in action. In the main event, Buff "The Stuff" Bagwell will be taking on the Super Destroyer; Mr Hughes versus The Wrestler; Southside Trash member Rowdy w/Mike Money will take on Scotty Blaze; in tag action, KI Elite faces off against Amien Rios and Frankie Valentine; Southside Trash member Raunchy w/Mike Money versus Adryen; Maniac Mike Pain w/Prince Rhumma versus Paul Warfield; and Kid Ego versus Jonathan Davis. Tickets are $12 for ringside, $10 for general and $5 for kids under 10. On March 22, the IWN will be at the WrestlePlex Arena in Fort Valley, GA, with bell time being at 7:30. NOSTALGIA
1940: Dan O’Connor defeated Roland Kirchmeyer in the main event at Loew’s Grand Theatre for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoters Bill Hartman and Thad Holt. Hartman had assisted Henry Weber and Frank Speer in years past and had been a successful Atlanta businessman for about thirteen years when he began promoting professional wrestling after Tom McCarthy stopped running cards.
1946: Jack Wentworth defeated Abe Ginsberg in the main event at the Savannah Municipal Auditorium for promoters Lou Masters, Dick Leonard, and Buster White. Jack Singer defeated Charlie Harben in the semi-main event.
1951: Ginger the Bear defeated Bobby Lane in the main event at the Macon City Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward. The Golden Terror defeated Tom Mahoney in the semi-main event.
1959: Paul Anderson defeated Don Lee in the main event at the Larry Bell Auditorium in Marietta for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Elmo Chappell. Also, Freddie Blassie & Skull Murphy defeated Ray Gunkel & Chief Little Eagle.
1962: The Assassins defeated Eddie Graham & Rito Carreon to retain the US Tag Team Title at the Macon City Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward.
1963: A main event match featuring Chief Little Eagle versus the Bat (Joe Tomasso) was ruled a no contest at the Columbus Sports Arena for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward.
1968: Mr. Wrestling defeated Dr. M, managed by Jack Crawford, in a main event loser unmasks match at the Macon City Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward. As part of the stipulation, Dr. M was forced to unmask following the match, and was identified as El Mongol. Enrique & Alberto Torres defeated Chris Tolos & Hans Schmidt by disqualification in the semi-main event.
1970: Wilbur Snyder defeated Nick Bockwinkel in the main event at the Paul Jones Sports Arena for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. Alberto & Ramon Torres defeated the Assassins in the semi-main event. The match was originally supposed to be the Bockwinkel challenging Doug Gilbert for the Georgia Heavyweight Title, but with the champion injured, Snyder challenged Bockwinkel to a rematch. Charlie Harben was credited as being a referee for this card. The program for this card mentioned that fans had started a petition to have the Assassins removed as Georgia Tag Team Champions because of their actions in injuring Gilbert on February 20, 1970. It urged fans to add their names to the list.
1973: We do not have results for this match, but Bob Ellis was schedule to defend the WWA Heavyweight Title against Ox Baker in the main event at the Lakewood Fairgrounds in Atlanta for All-South Wrestling Alliance promoter Ann Gunkel. The scheduled semi-main event was Dick Steinborn & Argentina Apollo versus Rock Hunter & Assassin #2.
1973: We do not know for sure who they defeated, but the Super Infernos, managed by J.C. Dykes, won a one-night tournament for the Macon Tag Team Title at the Macon Coliseum for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward. Other teams that participated were Bob Armstrong & Jerry Oates, Chati Yokuchi & Fuji, Bill Dromo & Koa Tiki, Tank Morgan & Tarzan Tyler, Victor Rivera & El Sicodelico, Jack Evans & the Destroyer, Arman Hussein & Pantera Negra, Sputnik & Rocket Monroe, Jerry Valentine & Butcher Brannigan, Pat O’Brien & Mr. Wrestling #2, and Norvel Austin & Bob Orton, Jr. Also, the Fabulous Moolah defeated Vicky Williams to retain the Women’s World Title.
1976: Although we know the title did not change hands, we are uncertain of the results of an advertised main event title match featuring NWA World Heavyweight Champion Terry Funk versus Abdullah the Butcher at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. Stan Stasiak, Moondog Mayne & the Spoiler defeated Bob Armstrong, Dick Slater & Mr. Wrestling #2 in the semi-main event. Gary Hart managed the Spoiler. Also, Thunderbolt Patterson defeated Rip Hawk, and Bob Backlund defeated Tony Charles. Les Thornton defeated Ken Mantell, while Rick Martel and Ervin Smith wrestled to a draw in the opener.
1978: We do not have results for this match, but a main event featuring Stan Hansen versus Dusty Rhodes was advertised at the William Bell Auditorium in Augusta for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Charlie Harben. Tony Atlas & Mr. Wrestling #2were scheduled to defend the Georgia Tag Team Title against Ole & Lars Anderson in the semi-main event.
1980: Harley Race defeated Wahoo McDaniel by countout to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Title at the Columbus Municipal Auditorium for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Fred Ward. Kevin Sullivan, Tony Atlas & Mr. Wrestling #2 defeated Austin Idol, Terry Funk & Dory Funk, Jr., in the semi-main event. Also, Lars Anderson defeated Dutch Mantell, and Ivan Koloff & Alexis Smirnoff, managed by Rock Hunter, defeated Ray Candy & Bill Dromo. Baron Von Raschke defeated Genichiro Tenryu in the opener.
1982: We do not have results for this match, but Tommy Rich was scheduled to defend the National Heavyweight Title against Ole Anderson at the William Bell Auditorium in Augusta for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Charlie Harben. Bob Armstrong versus Roddy Piper was the advertised semi-main event, and there was to be a bullrope match featuring Ron Bass versus Jimmy Garvin.
1983: Butch Reed defeated Ivan Koloff in the main event at the Omni Coliseum in Atlanta for Georgia Championship Wrestling promoter Paul Jones. Bruiser Brody and Abdullah the Butcher wrestled to a draw in the semi-main event. Ole Anderson & Buzz Sawyer and Stan Hansen & the Masked Superstar wrestled to a draw. Also, Paul Orndorff defeated the Assassin (Jody Hamilton), and Dick Murdoch defeated the Iron Sheik. In addition, Brian Blair, Ray Candy & Tito Santana defeated the Super Destroyer (Scott Irwin) & the Moondogs. J.J. Dillon managed the Moondogs.
1987: Barry Windham & Jimmy Garvin defeated Bobby Eaton & Arn Anderson in the main event at the Albany Civic Center for Jim Crockett Promotions. Arn Anderson defeated Brad Armstrong in the semi-main event.

» Already an ever-present for IPW:UK at Broxbourne, El Generico competed at the first IPW:UK show at the venue back in October 2006, going one-on-one against ‘The Man That Gravity Forgot’ Pac in singles action and coming out on top that night.
Fast forward to March of 2008 however and Generico is back with a cockier and louder challenger, in the form of Leaders of the New School member Paul Robinson (accompanied by Marty Scurll, Zack Sabre Jr & Nikko Brixton).
Last time out in Orpington, Robinson lost another singles match thanks to botched interference from Nikko Brixton, but has been signed up to Team IPW:UK based on the form that made him one of the hottest prospects of the first 2 years of IPW:UK. The rest of The Leaders best be on their best behaviour too, due to the magnitude of the result of this matchup!
» In late 2007 Jimmy Jacobs returned to prominence in the US independent scene, forming the disreputable faction “The Age Of The Fall” in Ring of Honor. Alongside his team-mates, he caused chaos on the way to a reign as RoH Tag Team Champions.
This new outlook on life is a far cry from the Jimmy Jacobs of old, who would wear the furry berserker boots and scream “Huss!” at the crowd as a clear fan-favourite. No longer is that the path that Jacobs leads though, his mind is far more warped.
On the other side of the squared circle fans will see the rejuvenated and re-invented Zebra Kid return to the Broxbourne Civic Hall for the first time since his days as one of the stars of the FWA in that very building.
Having returned to wrestling full-time back in October of 2007, The Zebra Kid immediately made a strong impact on the scene both in IPW:UK at the home venue, Orpington, as well as picking up a big singles victory over former Ring of Honor champion Austin Aries at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s European Vacation 2!
With wins over the likes of his own father, British legend ‘Rowdy’ Ricky Knight, ‘The Anarchist’ Doug Williams and more of the UK’s finest, as well as strong performances against other stars form stateside including Jerry Lynn and Samoa Joe, show that the might of Zebra Kid is strong. Undefeated since his return to IPW:UK, Jimmy Jacobs will have his hands full for sure come March 15th!
