1980: Ken Patera beat WWF IC Champion Pat Patterson to win the title at Madison Square Garden. Patterson had his foot on the ropes during the cover but the referee, who had been knocked down moments earlier, was too groggy to notice. The card also featured Hulk Hogan over Rene Goulet, Greg Gagne over Jose Estrada, Ricky Steamboat & Jay Youngblood over Tor Kamata & Bulldog Brower, and Bruno Sammartino over Larry Zbyzsko via count-out.

1984: The WWF comes to Cincinnati, OH and Springfield, MA. In Cincinnati, David Shultz beat Ivan Putski, World Champion Hulk Hogan beat Greg Valentine, and Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff fought Tony Atlas & Rocky Johnson to a no contest. In Springfield, IC Champion Tito Santana beat the Iron Sheik via count-out, Bob Backlund beat Ron Shaw, and Sgt. Slaughter defeated Samula of the Wild Samoans.

1985: The WWF was in New Haven, CT and Toronto. In New Haven, King Kong Bundy beat Tony Garea & Swede Hanson in a handicap match, Jimmy Snuka defeated Roddy Piper via disqualification, and the Junkyard Dog beat Bob Orton Jr. Toronto saw the British Bulldogs over Moondog Spot & Barry O, Ricky Steamboat & Tito Santana over Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake, and World Champion Hulk Hogan over Paul Orndorff. As a sign of Orndorff’s upcoming babyface turn, he and Hogan shook hands after the match.

1986: A TV taping at Poughkeepsie’s Mid-Hudson Civic Center saw the debut of Adrian Adonis’ Flower Shop segment, Paul Orndorff & Tito Santana over IC Champion Randy Savage & Bob Orton Jr., and Tag Team Champions the British Bulldogs over King Kong Bundy & Big John Studd via disqualification.

1988: A Superstars taping was held in New Haven, CT. Highlights included IC Champion the Honkytonk Man over Bam Bam Bigelow, Ted Dibiase over Brutus Beefcake, Greg Valentine over George Steele, Sivi Afi making a one-time appearance with the Islanders, Honky over Hillbilly Jim, and Hulk Hogan making his last appearance for 4 months by beating Boris Zhukov. Dark matches saw Tag Team Champions Demolition over Strike Force and Andre the Giant over World Champion Randy Savage via disqualification.

1990: A NWA card in Hammond, IN saw Mike Rotunda over Cactus Jack, Stan Lane over Johnny Ace, the Road Warriors over Doom, and Bam Bam Bigelow over US Champion Lex Luger. The WWF ran four shows with Hulk Hogan over Earthquake in Detroit, Roddy Piper – subbing for Dusty Rhodes – over Randy Savage in Richmond and Landover, and World Champion the Ultimate Warrior over Mr. Perfect in Providence.

1991: The WWF came to Syracuse and Toronto. Syracuse saw the Ultimate Warrior vs. the Undertaker, Jake Roberts vs. Earthquake, and the Legion of Doom vs. Tag Team Champions the Nasty Boys. Toronto saw the Big Bossman over the Mountie, Ted Dibiase pinning Virgil, and Sgt. Slaughter over World Champion Hulk Hogan via disqualification.

1993: Mr. Perfect defeated Lex Luger in the main event of a WWF show in Dublin, Ireland. The undercard saw IC Champion Shawn Michaels over Bob Backlund, Yokozuna over Jim Duggan, and Doink over Crush via count-out.

1995: The WWF came to Munich, Germany with World Champion Diesel & Razor Ramon beating Psycho Sid & IC Champion Jeff Jarrett in the main event. The undercard saw Lex Luger & Davey Boy Smith over Tatanka & Kama, Bret Hart over Owen Hart, and the Undertaker over Bam Bam Bigelow.

1996: WCW ran Jackson, TN with Randy Savage over World Champion Ric Flair via disqualification in the main event. The undercard saw the Road Warriors fight the Steiners to a no contest, Sting over Chris Benoit, and the Giant over Jim Duggan. The WWF show in Stuttgart, Germany saw World Champion Shawn Michaels over Steve Austin, the Undertaker over Diesel, Triple H over Razor Ramon, and Bret Hart over Owen Hart.

1997: The continuing Monday Night War saw Monday Nitro in Saginaw, MI and Raw in Binghamton, NY. Nitro saw JJ Dillon returning to an on-air role as the chairman of the WCW Executive Committee, referee Nick Patrick apologizing for his actions as part of the nWo, Konnan & Hugh Morrus attacking the Steiners in their backyard, Cruiserweight Champion Syxx over Rey Mysterio Jr., and a confrontation between Diamond Dallas Page and Randy Savage. Raw saw the show-long angle where Steve Austin attacked Bret Hart, injured his knee, and then attacked him in the ambulance. The show also featured the announcement Austin would face World Champion the Undertaker at In Your House “Cold Day in Hell,” Ken Shamrock challenging Mike Tyson to a fight, and Taker over Triple H via disqualification when Mankind interfered with a blow torch. Moments later, Goldust and Marlena, sitting ringside in street clothes, attacked Triple H and Chyna.

2000: ECW came to Bethlehem, PA with New Jack, the Sandman, & Tommy Dreamer over Steve Corino, Jack Victory, and Yoshihiro Tajiri. The undercard featured Masato Tanaka & Balls Mahoney over Vic Grimes & Angel, Rhino over Super Crazy, and Tag Team Champions Justin Credible & Lance Storm over Chris Chetti & Nova.

2001: The WWF came to Waco and Tyler, Texas. Waco saw Tag Team Champions the Undertaker & Kane over World Champion Steve Austin & IC Champion Triple H, Hardcore & Crash Holly over Taka Michinoku & Sho Funaki, European Champion Eddie Guerrero over Test, and Jeff Hardy over Dean Malenko. Tyler saw Chris Benoit over Val Venis, Kurt Angle over Chris Jericho, the Dudley Boyz over Edge & Christian and X-Pac & Justin Credible, and Bradshaw over William Regal in a Kiss the Flag match.

2002: The first post-brand split pay-per-view, Backlash 02, was held in Kansas City. Highlights saw Tajiri win back the Cruiserweight Title from Billy Kidman, Scott Hall pin Bradshaw, Brock Lesnar beating Jeff Hardy in Lesnar’s first TV match, Kurt Angle over Edge, Eddie Guerrero over IC Champion Rob Van Dam to win the title, and Hulk Hogan winning his sixth world title by beating Triple H.

2003: A Raw taping in Atlanta saw Chris Jericho over the Hurricane, Scott Steiner & Test over 3 Minute Warning, and Booker T beating World Champion Triple H via disqualification when both Ric Flair and Jericho attacked guest referee Shawn Michaels.

2005: The WWE came to Aberdeen, Scotland and Dublin, Ireland. The Raw show in Aberdeen saw Kane over Muhammad Hassan via disqualification, IC Champion Shelton Benjamin over Christian, Edge over Chris Benoit, and World Champion Batista & Shawn Michaels over Triple H & Ric Flair. The Smackdown! card in Dublin saw Tag Team Champions MNM over Eddie Guerrero & Rey Mysterio Jr., World Champion John Cena & the Big Show over Kurt Angle & JBL, and the Undertaker over US Champion Orlando Jordan via disqualification.

2006: The WWE’s European tour held stops in Newcastle and London. Newcastle saw Matt Hardy over Cruiserweight Champion Gregory Helms in a non-title match, Bobby Lashley over Booker T, US Champion JBL over Chris Benoit, and World Champion Rey Mysterio Jr. over Mark Henry and Kurt Angle. The Raw taping in London saw RVD, Carlito, & Charlie Haas over IC Champion Shelton Benjamin, Matt Striker, & Chris Masters, Shane McMahon putting Shawn Michaels through the commentary table with an elbow drop off the top, the announcement Ric Flair would face Umaga at Backlash, and World Champion John Cena, Triple H, & Edge fighting the Spirit Squad to a no contest in a handicap match when Cena and Triple H began fighting each other after laying out their opponents.
