CHIKARA brings the high-flying action with "Rey de Voladores"!
In the month of May, CHIKARA is going to gather up 8 of the world's finest high-flying wrestlers, and put them together in a mini-tournament we call "Rey de Voladores" (that's Spanish for "King of Flyers")! Today, we're proud to announce our own Lince Dorado as the first official entry into RdV. Dorado made it to the finals of last year's tournament, where he met defeat at the hands of Chuck Taylor. Considering his strong showing at this year's King of Trios tournament, maybe the title "King of Flyers" is the next accolade the young luchador will earn.
"Rey de Voladores" matches will take place at our first two events in the month of May - that's May 17 in Hellertown and May 18 in Philadelphia. Fans attending our May 18 card will have the option to stay at the Alhambra to watch WWE pay-per-view event "Judgment Day" immediately following our live event, and we'll announce more details as we get them from our pals at the New Alhambra.
One character you won't be seeing over "Rey de Voladores" weekend is Bull Pain, the new partner of Vin Gerard. After introducing his chaotic style of brutality to the members of the Colony during our April events, Director of Fun Leonard Chikarason suspended the imposing Pain for 30 days. In Hellertown, he bludgeoned the Colony with a baseball bat, and as a result Worker Ant will spend the next 3 - 4 weeks on crutches. The next day in Philadelphia, Pain put Fire Ant through a steel chair, and executed a DDT on Soldier Ant onto another chair. Pain had better think twice before disregarding the rules of CHIKARA, especially while the Director of Fun oversees our cards!
Be sure to drop by our online mothership www.chikarapro.com tomorrow as we announce 4 big matches for our impending May shows!
Advance tickets for our next 7 live events, including Young Lions Cup VI are on sale right now! Visit our online store and pick up your copy of the first issue of the CHIKARA comic book (Season 7, Volume 1)!
