World Wrestling Entertainment announced its 2008 first quarter results this morning and it was the most successfull business period ever in company history.

The first three months of 2008, featuring the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania 24, grossed $162.6 million and turned a $19.5 million after tax profit.

This was well above the same period last year, although WrestleMania was figured into the second quarter last year.

WrestleMania 24 is estimated as doing 1,058,000 buys, so they didn't set the record that WrestleMania 23 did but it was still a very impressive number nonetheless.
