WWE developmental talent 'arrested' on Sunday in Tampa - full details
On Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 3:28 PM EST PWInsider is reporting that WWE developmental talent Stu Sanders (real name Stuart Alexander Bennett) was arrested on Sunday, June 15 in Tampa and charged with Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and Obstructing or Opposing an Officer.
There are a lot of conflicting stories as to how everything went down, but the main story making the rounds was that Bennett attempted to remove himself from the premises of a bar following an altercation with a female patron that he didn't know that bumped into him. When he attempted to leave the bar, a plain-clothes police officer came up to him and tried to stop him from leaving.
He was arrested at 2:00 a.m. and released at 1:43 p.m. the next day. Bennett, who is 27 and is a British talent, is one half of the FCW Tag Team Champions with Drew McIntyre. There was some fear internally within WWE and FCW that he could be released as a way to set an example to other developmental talent, especially after the release of Mike Mondo.
