According to some updated reports, Jeff Hardy does not have a broken neck and that was used as the excuse for missing a scheduled appearance on Friday. Not sure why that was used as the excuse, but it was and that is why reports yesterday stated that. As noted earlier, Hardy did have a somewhat serious elbow infection at this week's TV tapings and had it drained. He has been on antibiotics all week and was pulled from all weekend house shows. Hardy is still scheduled to face MVP tonight at SummerSlam.

The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online is reporting that Mick Foley was originally scheduled to play a role in tonight's Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Edge as this will be the 10th anniversary of one of the most famous matches in wrestling history between Undertaker and Foley in 1998 (made a mental slip referring to this match taking place at SummerSlam 1998 earlier when it was King of the Ring 1998, thanks to everyone for the e-mails). He was reportedly told during this week that there was a change in plans and he no longer was needed tonight. Although this hasn't been confirmed, Edge's attack on Foley on Smackdown a few weeks ago looks to have been his last appearance for the company as his deal with WWE expires on September 1 and he has made it clear he probably won't re-sign.

Just a reminder that we will be providing *live* coverage of WWE SummerSlam tonight starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern (7:00 p.m. Central). To view the coverage page, click here.
