“Yes, sir, we promised you a great main event…” The WWE video leads us into the show.

The Superstars intro video plays and we’re brought into the arena. Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show as Primo and Gail Kim come to the ring.

Primo & Gail Kim vs. Chavo Guerrero & Jillian

Charles Robinson, my favorite referee, has this match. It’s Chavo starting out against Primo. Guerrero smugly circles the ring and they lock up. Primo finally got rid of that lame mustache. Jillian flips her off the top rope hard and covers for a near fall. Jillian smashes Gail’s neck on the back of her knee and pulls on the hair. This gets Jillian a near fall. Jillian throws her by her hair and Chavo says that’s great. Jillian sends her to the corner and kicks her. Jillian whips her into the ropes but Gail hangs on. Jillian blocks a kick and pulls her in for a clothesline. Jillian signals for her handspring moonsault but Gail gets her knees up.

Chavo and Primo are tagged in and Primo comes in with a springboard axe handle. Primo hits a back elbow, a clothesline, and a springboard cross-body for a two count. Chavo reverses a whip but Primo flips over his back. Primo ducks a clothesline but can’t avoid a kick to the midsection. Guerrero goes for the Three Amigos but Primo avoids the third and sends him to the corner. Chavo explodes out with a clothesline and covers but it’s broken up by Gail Kim. Jillian runs in and is thrown out. Chavo grabs Gail but Gail hits her foot to the face finisher and Primo rolls him up for the win!

Bump of the Night: Christian’s spill over the top rope

Match of the Night: Christian vs. William Regal

Mike’s Thoughts

This was a real fun Superstars to watch. I used to complain about having four matches on a one hour show but if the matches are like this then I’m fine. Just some well booked stuff with some good wrestlers. If Christian and William Regal was the main event every week I’d be fine also. What a match!

Has anyone else noticed this? The Royal Rumble commercial shows all close-ups of the Superstars’ faces and everyone’s eyes are bloodshot. How early did they shoot that? It’s just something I noticed.

Final Rating: ** ¼
