WWE SmackDown Brand House Show Results - 6/19/05
Location: Manchester, England

Jonathan Barton sent in the following report...

The M.E.N Arena in Manchester was absolutley sold out for this event, there were a lot of kids in attendance and the show started at 7.30pm and didn't finish until 11pm so we definitely got our money's worth! To be honest there wasn't anything big about the undercard of the event, the guys that they had they put everything in to it but there were some matches that were very lackluster!

Quick Results

- Paul London bt. Billy Kidman to Retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

A very good match, London pulled off all his usual spots but he was fired up for the match and they must of put on a good 20 Minute match which had many many spots in and ones that really were only there to impress the fans and they did! London was very over in Manchester!

- Big Show bt. Carlito (w/ Matt Morgan)

A fairly quick match, Carlito is a great character and did some of his comedy spots where he got out of the ring to carry on warming up. Nothing much /* to report from this match except a pretty normal Carlito/Show match!

- Funaki bt. Chavo Guerrero

Now I have been a favourite of these matches they have had because they have all been pretty decent but this match was awful, they spent 5+ minutes on an injury angle which would of been interesting if the two guys in the ring weren't putting on a crapfest! I think thery were trying to get Funaki over more by making him fight back to win with an injury but it didn't really both that many people! Not good stuff at all, definitely the worst match of the night!

- Matt Morgan bt. Mark Jindrak

Believe it or not this wasn't a bad match, Jindrak has got some impressive moves and showcased them especially his clothesline from the top rope. Morgan's contribution to the match was really basic big men moves and slowed it down a lot but it wasn't that bad! I've definitely seen worse matches....an average match!

- MNM bt. Hardcore Holly & Booker T to Retain the WWE Tag Team Championship

Damn MNM are a great tag team and damn Melina is hot in real life, the match was pretty good with Holly & Booker getting great reactions from the crowd. Holly seemed to have more interaction with them which is what he should do to get more over in the WWE at the moment because it seemed to work! It was a end to end match and to be honest Holly seemed to have improved. Anyway decent match!

* Segment where Torrie Wilson came to the ring and threw T-Shirts in to the crowd (she had a weak throw), she was about to take her t-shirt off to throw until Melina came to the ring which was a very pleasant surprise! I was hoping for a cat fight but it ended with Melina getting knocked down with wrestling moves and then Torrie taking her top off which revealed very little. The men of Manchester were not pleased especially because I think they wanted to see Melina in their bra & panties!

- INTERMISSION-

* Theodore Long came to the ring and went on about the fans making Smackdown what it is today and etc and then started to hype Austin being the referee in the Triple Threat WWE title match and then started to talk about the next match between Eddie & Mysterio!

- Rey Mysterio bt. Eddie Guerrero

If I hear Eddie sucks down my ear once more I am going to tape people's mouths shut, people behind me continued to say it and when a big move was done their mother started to tell their 6 year old kid that they get paid to get hurt! Bah anyway the match was pretty decent, Eddie seems to be much slower recently but a good solid match none the less. Mysterio was very over and fans seemed to flock very fast on the floor when Mysterio hit the 619! Good stuff!

- Orlando Jordan bt. Heidenreich to Retain the WWE United States Championship

Orlando is getting a good wrestler, he seems to have grown some balls from the guy who started out with a bald head! But seriously his character is going to go far, he almost impressed me. His in-ring work is very good and has a smiliar style to Rocky Johnson and he keeps showing why he deserves to keep the title! As usual he won with the feet on the ropes but it was a good match with both men impressive! Heidenreich was very over and got 3 youngsters in the ring after the match to do the Heidenreich march!

* Before the WWE title match, JBL did a promo where he was going on about American being better than England then talked about how England got Malcom Glazer to run their stupid Manchester United football team! Being in Manchester this got some good heat!

- John Cena bt. JBL & Kurt Angle to Retain the WWE Championship (Guest Referee - Stone Cold teve Austin) The match was pretty good, the crowd totally went nuts when Austin & Cena came out. No word of mention that Cena & Angle were now on Raw but they all put on a good match! The ending was where Angle got pushed in Austin by accident. Austin soon grabbed a steel chair off Angle and stunnered him which allowed Cena to get the FU on JBL to get the 3.

After the match, Cena & Austin drank beer and at one point they had about 5 cans each drinking them all at once. Austin soon stunnered Cena but helped him up soon after and then continued to drink again. Big Show then came down to the ring and Austin did his usual 1 beer, 2 beers etc. In the end Austin just kept throwing beers to Big Show. Show then was made to do a little song in the ring until Austin grabbed the mic and gave it to Cena. Cena soon did a very short rap and FU'd Show before Austin left the ring and then so did Cena. When Show got up he got an ovation and left! Awesome moment, you really had to be there and I'm definitely glad I got to see an Austin end of show bash because they are awesome!

Overall with a fairly lackluster card, the fans got in to pretty much each match and seemed to appreciate the show very much! I couldnt see many if any empty seats and was a great show!

Most pops--
1. Austin/Cena
2. Booker
3. Holly

Most heat--
1. JBL
2. Eddie Guerrero
3. JBL & Malcom Glaser promo
