3 Live Kru vs. The Elite Guard This week’s show got off to a blistering start as the 3 Live Kru made their way to the ring at the beginning of the show. Ron “The Truth” Killings, BG James, and Konnan were dressed in their fatigues and ready to go to war with Jeff Jarrett’s chosen three. Out came The Elite Guard consisting of Colyer, Hernandez, and Onyx. Ironically enough, this team was a spitting image of 3LK. All 3 men looked in tremendous shape and it looked as if Jarrett might have found the key to defeating the Kru.
The action spilled to the outside early on with James and Konnan battling Onyx and Colyer on the Asylum floor. Back in the ring, Killings got a scissors kick on Hernandez and pinned him for the 3 count. Immediately after the victory, Jeff Jarrett ran down to the ring to confront his opponent for next week’s 2 year anniversary show. He was going to hit the number one contender with a guitar, but Killings fought back until the numbers game caught up with him and The Elite Guard helped Jarrett finish the job. Just as Jarrett was about to make some string music on Killing’s head, Vince Russo ran in to stop the champ. Unfortunately for the DOA, Jarrett smashed the guitar over his head and left him motionless in the middle of the ring with blood running down his forehead. James and Konnan finally made their way back to the ring to run off Jarrett and his crew.
Trinity vs. Angel For weeks now, Trinity and Desire have been developing quite a rivalry, with Trinity desperately trying to injure the back of Desire once again. This week, Trinity was out to make a point in her match with TNA PPV newcomer, Angel. Although she put up a good fight, Angel’s debut came at a bad time with Trinity out to show Desire just how bad she can be. Trinity went right to work on her opponent from the very beginning of the match, mainly focusing on Angel’s lower back.
In an attempt to show Desire what she can expect in next weeks first ever women’s stretcher match, Trinity punished Angel and got the victory in quick fashion. Afterwards, Trinity looked to do more damage on the helpless Angel with a steel chair. Fortunately, Desire came down to run her enemy off. Desire was so infuriated that she even hit a couple members of TNA security with the steel chair.
Cameras then shifted to the back where Scott Hudson was standing by with Pat Kenney and Sonny Siaki. Kenney stated that he was proud to be Irish and Siaki concluded by telling the NYC to just wait and see what they have in store for them in the box tonight.
Gilberti and Swinger vs. Pat Kenney and Sonny Siaki in an Ultimate Humiliation Match For the past several weeks, the NYC has done nothing but try to embarrass Pat Kenney and Sonny Siaki by mocking their heritage. This week, it was Kenney and Siaki’s chance to embarrass them in an Ultimate Humiliation Match. The loser must wear what their opponents picked out for them for the next 30 days. Both teams brought boxes full of gear to the ring in hopes they could embarrass the other after tonight’s match up. The early advantage went to the NYC as both Gilberti and Swinger went to work on the arm of Pat Kenney. Kenney finally broke free and made his way to his partner Siaki. Siaki got the pin and the victory after hitting the Siacolypse Now on Gilberti.
Gilberti and Swinger left the ring with no intentions of getting embarrassed. Jeremy Borash then made the announcement that if the NYC didn’t abide by the stipulations of the match, they would be immediately terminated by TNA.
Attention again shifted to the back where Scott Hudson was standing by with Raven. Raven told Scott that the Sheik was dead. Long live Raven. He concluded by telling Sabu that promises were made to be broken and so are bones.
Sonjay Dutt vs. Raven Sonjay Dutt would have a chance to get a little revenge for last week’s beat down he suffered at the hands of Raven. Just as the Original Play from the Himalya was walking to the ring, he was viscously attacked from behind by Raven. I guess you could say that Sonjay Dutt is guilty by his association with Sabu. Raven was relentless in his beating of the X Division superstar. During the match, Raven would get on the microphone and beg Sabu to come to the ring and fight or he would torture Dutt some more.
Raven taped Dutts hands together and started poking him in the skull with a screwdriver. All this was legal, due to the match being a no disqualification encounter. Raven then rolled him up for the pin which the referee counted quickly to stop the damage from getting any worse. The Raven tied up Dutt’s feet with tape. Sabu could take no more and came to the ring to help his friend. Sabu never touched Raven, but instead was more interested in Dutt’s welfare. Raven began to slap the hardcore legend over and over while trying to get him to fight, but Sabu would not break his promise to his mentor.
Security finally came down to break up the two of them and then out came The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes got right in Raven’s face and said that he has disrespected the Sheik. He told him that if you want somebody, what about me? Raven then backed down from the challenge and left the ring.
Back in the locker room area, Hudson was standing by with David Young. Young was looking for Russo, but Scott had informed him that he was gone. Young explained that he had a house payment and a dog to feed and that he needed a match. He was then interrupted by Erik Watts who took the microphone and told Goldylocks that he would put up his contract if she puts up his money.
Dallas vs. AJ Styles Kid Kash is always thinking about ways he could take advantage of a certain situation. Tonight was no different as he got his family member, Dallas, to take on AJ Styles in an attempt to soften the champ up for next week’s X Division Title Match. Styles had a game plan of his own coming into this match. Although the size advantage went to Dallas, Styles used his speed in the ring to wear the big man down. Dallas eventually got his hands on AJ and took total control of the match.
Just when AJ Styles seemed to have gained the momentum back, Kid Kash made his way to ringside. Sure enough, Kash became involved in the match and teamed up with Dallas to take out the X Division Champion. D-Lo Brown then made his return to TNA and sprinted down to help out his friend and run off Kash and Dallas. Brown then grabbed the mic and told Styles that he inspired him to go after the NWA World Heavyweight Title.
Hudson caught up with Gilberti and Swinger. Gilberti was wearing a Leprechaun outfit while Swinger was in a grass skirt with a coconut braw and lays around his neck. Both members of the NYC were irate and said that this was ridiculous. David Young then made his way into the picture and he asked his former mentor Gilberti who he could talk to tonight to get a match. Gilberti told him to talk to Dusty Rhodes. Just then, a confused D-Ray 3000 came into the picture and asked Hudson where the ring was. Hudson told D-Ray that he didn’t even have a match tonight.
America’s Most Wanted vs. Abyss and the “Alpha Male” Monty Brown for NWA World Tag Team Titles This match up was going to be one of Chris Harris’ and James Storm’s toughest challenges yet, when they had to take on the monster, Abyss and the hot Monty Brown. It was experience and familiarity vs. power and strength in this match. Abyss was accompanied to the ring by Goldylocks as always. Amazingly enough, Brown and Abyss seemed to work well together and made many tags to each other. The momentum in this match swung back and forth with neither team getting an advantage.
During the match, Scott Hudson pulled Goldylocks aside and told her to come to the back area with him. In what could of wound up an amazing finish, the match was ended prematurely by The Naturals getting involved. Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas attacked AMW during the bout with a chair and powder to the face. Both men seemed to be sending a message to TNA management and AMW. Will they get their chance at tag team gold soon?
Hudson was then shown in the back standing by with Goldylocks and Erik Watts. Both were screaming at each other until Abyss came in and attacked Watts. Goldylocks approved of Abyss’s actions and urged him to continue his assault on Watts.
Scott Hudson then caught up with an apologetic Raven. Raven told Hudson that he was sorry for his actions tonight and that he will have a tribute to the deceased Sheik next week on the PPV.
Team NWA vs. Team Canada The main event this week was set to be a flag match between Team Canada and Team NWA in a six man match up. The winner is the one who grabs their flag first and raises it up to the top of a pole. After Scott D’Amore shamelessly ripped up the NWA flag last week, Jerry Lynn and company was out to get revenge on the Canadians. Team Canada has made quite an impact in TNA and managed to make a lot of enemies, but they were prepared to do battle tonight. This match was off the hook! So many X style moves and high flying antics made this encounter another must see for wrestling fans everywhere.
Jerry Lynn looked like he was going to get the win by raising the NWA flag, but Scott D’Amore showed his ugly face again and stopped him from doing so. Then, all 6 competitors began to use the flags as weapons against each other. There was a lot of animosity in the air. Jerry Lynn was about to win the match again by climbing up the ropes to raise his flag, but D’Amore tripped him up with the infamous hockey stick. Eric Young then took the opportunity to raise the Canadian flag instead for the win. Team Canada then began to celebrate in the middle of the ring.
Hudson finally caught up with the World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett in the back. Jarrett told Russo that he had no business being in his ring. He said Russo was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The show went off the air with a serious Jarrett stating that Ron Killings will never forget the name Jeff Jarrett!
