Monday Night Raw kicks off with the pyro and we are from Portland, OR

Matches announced

WWE IC Triple Threat Match
Randy Orton vs. RVD vs. Booker T

Ric Flair vs. Chris Benoit

Contract signing with Benoit and HHH for the World Title at WM 20

And here comes the former WCW and WWE Champ, Goldberg. He is dressed to fight and his entrance leads to our first match. It will be Goldberg versus ……… Vince McMahon????

Here comes Mr. McMahon and he is pissed off, walking with a purpose. Mr. McMahon announces that he is cancelling Goldberg’s match tonight. As soon as Vince can explain, here comes the sheriff, Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin drives around the ring on his ATV and walks on top of the ATV and then in the ring. So now Goldberg, Stone Cold, and Vince are all in the ring. (This is surreal) Stone Cold says Vince has broken “the law”
Vince recaps last week events involving the ringside ticket to No way out. Crowd rips into Vince, Stone Cold interjects saying that there is 10,000 fans calling him an A-Hole.
Vince calls out the Smackdown GM Paul Heyman. Basically Heyman says to Goldberg that he had better sit in his seat at the PPV and not do anything or /* Brock Lesnar will deal with him. Goldberg says once again that Brock is next. Vince and Austin are arguing in the corner, as Goldberg spears Heyman. After Austin celebrates, Goldberg goes to spear Vince, he sidesteps Goldberg and Austin gets speared.

Commercial

Goldberg says that the spear to Austin was a mistake. Goldberg asks is he should expect a stunner in the future. Austin says that if Goldberg gets a stunner, it won’t be a mistake

Vince walks into Eric’s office and threatens Bischoff. Basically he suspends Goldberg and says that if Goldberg goes to No way out, it’s Eric’s ass on the line, and then Vince walks out

Here comes Trish Stratus and it looks like a mixed tag match

Trish Stratus & Y2J vs. Molly Holly & Matt Hardy V.1

Y2J and Matt Hardy to start things off in this mixed tag team match. After some back and forth action, Matt tags in Molly and Y2J tags in Trish. Molly gains the early advantage with some heel tactics. Trish regains the control and tags in Y2J so Hardy automatically goes in. Back and forth action again with interference by Christian behind the ref’s back. He hit Matt Hardy from behind which allowed Trish to hit a reverse head scissors on Molly for the victory.

Winners: Trish Stratus & Y2J

Commercial

Christian apologizes to Trish for being a jerk and says that if she and Jericho are “just friends” then the 3 of them can be friends. Trish says that Jericho sprained his knee and will be out for a couple of weeks.

Jindrak and Cade (They still work here??) are looking at the new Playboy with Sable and Torrie on the cover. Stacy and Miss Jackie walk up to them and say they aren’t taking this lying down.

Foley is walking into the building and Coach confronts him. Foley says that tonight he will embarrass Randy Orton or cost him his IC Title, or both.

JR and the King promote the IC Triple threat match and say that the Flair / Benoit match is next

Commercial

Ric Flair vs. Chris Benoit

Here comes Ric Flair and now the #1 Contender for the World Title, Chris Benoit. This match is going to be classic WCW as these two made their careers in WCW. (Flair just cemented it there) Benoit gets the early advantage, and starts chopping away. Flair’s chest is actually bleeding from the chops. Back in the ring, Flair is now in control with the chops. This match is very slow and it looks like Benoit is slowing his style down for Flair which is a shame. Benoit finally hits a decent move with a superplex on Flair. Benoit goes up to the top for a diving head butt and does not connect so let’s go to a commercial

Commercial

We come back to the match and both men are exhausted. More chops by both men, and now after back and forth action, Benoit actually hits an amazing 3 German suplexes. Flair hits a mule kick on Benoit and tries to slap on the figure four but Benoit gets tot the ropes. Flair does his strut and then tries to pick Benoit up and has the Crippler Cross face put on him. Flair taps out after perhaps 10 seconds in the cross face. Benoit is celebrating in the ring, as we see HHH watching on a monitor in the back. HHH tells a ref to tell Bischoff to make the contract signing next

Commercial

Benoit in the ring (all red carpeted now) and down the ramp comes Bischoff for the contract signing. After doing a brief intro for Benoit, he does a brief intro for HHH, and here comes the world champ to the ring. HHH signs the contract and is now cutting a promo on Benoit, trying to psych out Benoit. This is probably one of the best promos I have ever seen HHH make. Before Benoit can sign the contract out comes HBK. HBK says that he will settle his issue with HHH at WM 20. Benoit says that although he respects HBK, Benoit will fight HHH not HBK. HBK then super kicks Benoit, knocking him out in the process. HBK then signs the contract for WM 20 instead of Benoit, basically taking Benoit’s spot.

Commercial (One of them was the WWE WM 20 ad, very nice)

Recap of what just happened; JR and the King discuss what just happened. Flames shoot out and here comes Kane.

Kane vs. Hurricane

It’s a basic Kane squash with the choke slam coming within 2 minutes of the start of the match. Kane throws his arms down and no pyro from the ring posts. It takes another 2 times to get it working. The bell tolls and another cryptic message from the Undertaker saying in 34 days, the dead shall rise again.

Commercial (including one about the Canadian South Park on Feb. 13)

Benoit confronts Bischoff backstage and is pissed off. Bischoff makes a match for next week’s raw, it will be HBK vs. Benoit

JR and the King recap what happened earlier on tonight involving Goldberg and Heyman

Coach catches Goldberg as he is leaving the arena. Goldberg says that he still has his ticket for No Way Out, and that Brock is still next

Commercial

A recap from the Japan tour last weekend by the Raw roster.

Mick Foley comes down to the ring and grabs a microphone. He cuts a promo on Orton bringing up Orton’s military past. Orton apparently went AWOL for 82 days from the marine core. Foley challenges Orton to a match at WM 20. Orton challenges Foley right now in catering. Foley goes backstage to catering and turns around and sees that Batista and Flair are there as well. 3 on 1 attack which results with Foley getting power bombed through the catering table. Orton slaps and kicks Foley afterwards for good measure.

Commercial

Recap of what just happened and here we go for the main event for the evening

WWE IC Title Match
RVD vs. Booker T vs. Randy Orton (c)

Before Orton can come down to the ring we go to a ….

Commercial

Orton comes down and the match is underway. Booker T goes after Orton and they fight outside with Booker getting the upper hand. Booker then goes into the ring and basically fights one on one with RVD. Orton waits on the outside, biding his time. Orton jumps back in the ring and takes out Booker T. Now it’s RVD vs. Orton with Booker resting in the corner. Now we are going to start the breaking up of the close calls. RVD and Booker T are now going at it. Orton breaking up a fall by RVD and now Orton works on Booker inside the ring. After some high spots all 3 men are down in the ring. Now we are back to very close pin falls on everyone. Nice 5 Star Frog Splash on Booker T. Orton shoves RVD out of the ring and takes the pin fall for the victory.

Winner: Randy Orton

Flair and Batista come down to celebrate with Orton. Foley comes out slowly and before he can come to the ring, Randy Orton gives Foley an RKO outside the ring. Batista and Flair beat the crap out of RVD and Booker T.

Foley, Booker T and RVD are left lying at the feet of Evolution as Raw goes off the air

Match Results

Trish Stratus & Y2J defeats Molly Holly & Matt Hardy V.1 via pin fall

Chris Benoit defeated Ric Flair via submission

Kane defeats the Hurricane via pin fall

Randy Orton defeats Booker T & RVD via pin fall

Thoughts
Four matches, that contract signing was too long
For a Raw show, there was a lot of hype for No Way Out
I cannot wait for the Undertaker to return
HHH can still cut a good promo
I wonder if there is going to be any gimmick matches for WM 20
