TNA “iMPACT!” RESULTS
Thursday, July 12, 2007 – Orlando, FL

Total Nonstop Action got underway immediately in the iMPACT Zone with “The Monster” Abyss going up against Lance Hoyt, accompanied with the lovely Christy Hemme. As always, Christy was there to cheer on her big man from Texas, and while Hoyt did manage to get some high impact maneuvers over the 6’8’’ monster, it wasn’t enough for when Abyss clicked doomsday and hit the Black Hole Slam on the former 2-time NWA World Tag Team Champion.

After the match, Abyss went for a bag of broken glass to slam Hoyt on. However, Basham came to Lance’s aid by removing him from the ring as the two would then brawl with BG and Kip James of The Voodoo Kin Mafia. Abyss then turned his attentions towards a vulnerable Christy Hemme in the ring. Much to her delight, AJ Styles and Tomko made the save, but in the midst of all the chaos, Sting would be the ultimate presence by chasing off members of The Christian Coalition and also prompting Abyss to speak for the very first time. He said, “Tomko, Styles, three days, Click Doomsday,” regarding the tag team match between the four this Sunday at Victory Road.

Backstage, we had Christian Cage announce an honorary member of The Christian Coalition, that man being Robert Roode. Them two, along with AJ and Tomko would be facing TNA & IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle, TNA X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe, and TNA World Tag Team Champions, Team 3D, tonight in an eight-man tag team match.

Next on the program we had Kaz defeat fellow members of Serotonin – Martyr and Havok. In recent weeks, Kaz has betrayed his Serotonin allies by not following along with Martyr and Havok in the midst of Raven’s shadow. Well tonight, despite the win, Kaz received his punishment with a ruthless attack not only by Raven, but also Martyr and Havok with cane sticks in the aftermath of the match. Could we be seeing the Kaz gimmick dropped soon, with the real Frankie Kazarian, as we know him, returning?

Funny enough, Ron Killings who recently asked for a release from TNA showed up during a TNA/Spike TV commercial telling folks that smoking is bad, so don’t do it.

TNA also reviewed the career of “Wildcat” Chris Harris, who will be going one-on-one with Christian Cage, Sunday at Victory Road. Also featured was a video package hyping the one-on-one encounter between “The War Machine” Rhino, and other ex-AMW member James Storm. Plus, the supposed “son” of James Mitchell who is former WSX Champion, Ricky Bandera, will be named Judas Mesias.

The 10-Man Ultimate X Match this Sunday will feature Jay Lethal, Christopher Daniels, Homicide, Sonjay Dutt, Kaz, Shark Boy, Puma, the return of Elix Skipper, and two more stars yet to be named. If Senshi makes it into the match, then could we possibly be seeing the reuniting of former 3-time NWA World Tag Team Champions, Triple X? The pieces are certainly there to fit that puzzle.

In the main event of the night, we saw Kurt Angle, a man who never once made a tag or received a tag during the eight-man tag team main event, steal a win by blind tagging Joe and entering himself in as the legal contestant and then seemingly taking Joe out behind his legs in the midst of a Muscle Buster on AJ Styles. During the match, Christian Cage also took a scary senton drop on the back of his neck rather than back or stomach. Tension between the team of champions was also very evident and it’ll be interesting to see how the Match of Champions this Sunday pans out.

Here is the final lineup for TNA Victory Road on Pay-Per-View, this Sunday:

THE MATCH OF CHAMPIONS – Every Title is on the line!
TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Kurt Angle & TNA X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe vs. TNA World Tag Team Champions, Team 3D

Chris Harris vs. Christian Cage

10-MAN ULTIMATE X MATCH
Jay Lethal vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Homicide vs. Sonjay Dutt vs. Kaz vs. Shark Boy vs. Elix Skipper vs. Puma vs. two more competitors yet to be announced

Sting & Abyss vs. AJ Styles & Tomko

MIXED TAG TEAM MATCH
Eric Young & Gail Kim vs. Robert Roode & Ms. Brooks

Jerry Lynn & Bob Backlund vs. Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley

Rhino vs. James Storm

Voodoo Kin Mafia have a "surprise" for Christy Hemme (My guess is the returning Sean Waltman to even the numbers against Hemme’s team. Although, Waltman is working fulltime with AAA now, so we’ll see.)

That about wraps up this report, see you all next week!
