Hey guys, I’m with my family tonight for Christmas like I’m sure a lot of people are, but I have locked myself in a room with TNA, and I want to say Merry Christmas to all our readers!
The show starts off with a video package highlighting the Main Event Mafia.
“Bang, Bang” hits and Mick Foley is on his way to the ring to kick the show off. A big “Foley” chant starts as Foley gets in the ring. Mick wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and says that last week the Main Event Mafia promised him there would be nomore “gang-style” beat downs, but just a few hours ago Samoa Joe was released from the hospital due to the beating they put on him last week. Mick says that Kurt Angle always talks about a “code” between the boys in the back, but what good is that code when your word no longer means anything or when you throw away your dignity. He says that all that stuff is a “crock of Angle” and then says that the next time there is one of those Main Event Mafia “hits” he will personally get involved. He says the bloodshed stops tonight but then the MEM’s music hits and outcome TNA’s resident Mafioso. Kurt says that all this is just one big misunderstood and that last week they weren’t the aggressor, but they were the victim. He asks Mick if he thought Kevin or Sting wanted to be in a cage match. He says they were forced into that cage like a couple of animals. He calls Kevin a “wrestling purist” and says when you put them in cages sh*t will happen. Kurt asks Mick what he expected MEM to do inside that cage and it wasn’t their fault that AJ Styles left Joe in the cage. He says that the Mafia is a family and Mick should be a part of it. Mick says that he needs MEM on the Genesis card and that Kurt and Sting are already involved in a match, but he can’t put the rest in a match yet because of fear of them trying to beatdown their opponents in the back. Mick says, however, he can book a double main event for tonight so Booker T. and Scott Steiner will once again team up this week and they will face AJ Styles & Brother Devon of Team 3D! Booker is mad because he wasn’t supposed to be wrestling tonight, but then Mick says that Kurt will face Rhino as well in a Final Resolution rematch. Mick again says that if things get out of hand tonight he will get personally involved. He also says that he will have Jeff Jarrett at ringside during the Main Event to make sure that everybody stays out of it.
In the back Jeramy Borash is with Rhino. Rhino says that the came to TNA for the rush of the chase that ends in a kill, and tonight that chase starts tonight against Kurt. Rhino says that Kurt claims to not feel anything, but tonight he guarantees that Kurt feels pain. He says that tonight it’s not about the 1-2-3 but it’s about getting revenge for Petey, Brother Ray, & Joe. He says that MEM is always talking about why this war started while they should’ve been thinking about how to finish it.
X-Division Championship Tournament Semi Finals
Kiyoshi vs. Chris Sabin w/Alex Shelley
Kiyoshi defeated Consequences Creed in the Quarter Finals while Sabin defeated Sonjay Dutt and the winner of this match goes onto the finals at Genesis. Kiyoshi hits the Muta Chop on Sabin and then whips Sabin into the corner, but Sabin nips up and over a charging Kiyoshi! Kiyoshi hits a knee strike and then several big kicks that take Sabin to his knees and follows up with a nasty kick to the face. Kiyoshi puts Sabin up on his shoulders in a firemans carry and then hits that wicked reverse F-U type move for a close two count. That really sounded like Sabin hit hard. Kiyoshi hits a backbreaker and then climbs to the top and attempts the Moonsault, but Sabin moves. Sabin goes for a kick but Kiyoshi catches his foot and spins Sabin around, but Sabin nails a spinning Enziguri that nearly takes Kiyoshi’s head off! Sabin quickly picks Kiyoshi up and nails the Cradle Shock for the pin! Chris Sabin advances to the tournament finals at Genesis.
Winner: Chris Sabin via pinfall (Cradle Shock)
After the match Sheik Abdul Bashir comes down to the ring where Shane Sewell is in the ring. Bashir pulls Sewell back into the ring as he tries to get out and then slaps him. Sewell stops himself from hitting Sheik but then Bashir repeatedly pushes him and dares him to hit him. Bashir slaps him again and then starts to pull his referee shirt off when the lights go out! Suicide swings into the ring and Bashir attempts to hit Suicide blocks it and hits a nasty head butt. Suicide flies into the corner with a double knee and then hits a nasty front dropkick that sends Bashir flying into the turnbuckles. Suicide does his double shot pose as the camera cuts to the back.

Palin says they are true Americans, but Velvet asks what happens if one of them touches her. Kip says that if anybody touches them he’ll drop them, but Palin calls him “Kipper” and tells him to hush. Palin says that it will be okay and tells them to be close their eyes and meet the public. The fans are chanting “Velvet” very loudly as Palin pushes them into the crowd.
Back from commercial they show a video package highlighting the Angle/Jarrett feud. After the video package they show a sitdown interview between Jeff Jarrett and Mike Tenay. Mike wishes Jeff a Merry Christmas and Jeff does the same to Mike. Mike says that he realizes that Jeff never had any real intention on getting back into the ring but it just hasn’t worked out that way. Jeff says that he and Kurt just don’t get along and that he handpicked Kurt Angle 2 years ago to replace him. He said that the plan at that time was to build the company around Kurt and Mike asks him what went wrong. Jeff says that he would have to ask Kurt that and that in his opinion Kurt has lost his wife, his kids, and his dignity. He says that in his own mind Kurt things he’s bigger than TNA. Jeff says that no one wrestler is bigger than any organization. Jeff says that TNA needs Kurt but Kurt definitely needs TNA. Mike asks Jeff about the very personal things Kurt has said. Jeff gets a little emotional and he says that it makes his stomach turn when Kurt says those things and that Kurt isn’t the same person he was 2 years ago. He says that when Kurt looks at you now it just looks like a blank stare. Jeff Jarrett says that preparing for Kurt is going to be easy because at Genesis it’s just going to be two guys that hate each other fighting. Jeff says that losing at Genesis is not an option. He says that it’s one fight he has to win. Mike Tenay says that this rivalry between Kurt Angle and Jeff Jarrett is by far the most personal feud he’s ever been around. Kurt Angle all of a sudden walks up to the announce table and asks Mike what he thought about what Jeff had to say and if he felt sorry for him, but Kurt cut him off before he could answer either question. He then asks Don West the same thing and elbows Don upside the head before he can answer. Kurt tells them both to shut their mouths and he says that he has no sympathy for Jeff or his kids, but he is right about one thing: it will be a bloody fight. He says that when Jeff Jarrett comes down to the ring tonight he will hurt him and Jeff probably won’t make it to Genesis. Kurt says that he’s bringing Sting to the ring with him tonight!
TNA Rough Cut w/ Beer Money Inc.
Robert Roode talks about the formation of Beer Money and says that the immediate response he had was if they would be better than Americas Most Wanted. James says that Beer Money is totally different than AMW because both Robert Roode and Chris Harris each brought something different to the table. Roode talks about he and James becoming friends and traveling together. Storm says that they get along together in and out of the ring. Roode says that the fans love to hate them because they’re just so good. Storm says that people are jealous of him because of his good looks and he drinks a lot of beer. Storm says that they’re champs and that makes them the best while Roode says that they’re going to continue to be the champs for a long time.
They show a video package hyping up the feud between Beer Money and Matt Morgan & Abyss. In the video package it announces that the two teams will face each other at Genesis again.
In the back Lauren is with Matt Morgan and Abyss. Abyss starts to talk but Morgan cuts him off and tells Abyss that he’s had enough of Abyss talking. Morgan tells Lauren to beat it and then tells Beer Money that the games are over. Morgan says that it’s through and at Genesis it’s going to be the final act for Beer Money.

He says that he couldn’t tell you about that joy he got when he held them for the first time and now Joe has to hold his first son in a sling. AJ gets pissed and says that if they want to come after somebody to come after him and starts throwing stuff and walks out. Devon says that Brother Ray is like a big white Grizzly Bear, you can hurt him but you can’t put him down. Devon says that the 15 years they’ve been together he’s never seen Ray second guess himself but he has now and that he doesn’t know if he’ll ever be back mentally. Devon says that the MEM has unleashed something in him that they should’ve never unleashed and tonight they’ll know it.
Back from commercial JB is in the back with the Motor City Machine Guns. Sabin says that good things happen to good people and the “not so good-Muta” wasn’t good enough for one half of the Motor City’s finest. JB talks about how it could be them against each other at Genesis, but Shelley says that he’s thought about it. Shelley then starts talking about how Eric Young used to be scared of his own shadow when Eric Young walks up. Young slaps the taste out of Shelley’s mouth and then Shelley slams him into the lockers. Sabin jumps on Young too when Lethal and Creed pull Sabin off and Shelley and Young continue to fight in the hallway.
The cameras cut back to Tenay and West talking about what just happened but then we see Shelley and Young fight there way out behind them! Young throws Shelley onto the entrance ramp and then throws him into the ring. Shelley low blows Young as Creed and Lethal keep Sabin from getting in the ring. Shelley chokes Young and kicks him and then starts slapping EY in the back of the head. Shelley attempts to whip Young into the ropes but Young reverses it and Shelley kicks him in the face. Young nails Shelley with a discus clothesline and then goes for the DVD but Shelley escapes it and Sabin is able to pull Shelley out of the ring, but then EY comes flying with a Suicide Dive through the ropes onto the MCMG! Young and Shelley continue to brawl until the referees pull them apart.

They talk about the Santa’s Workshop Knockouts Street Fight tonight and damn, Taylor is one fine looking elf.

Back from commercials TNA has a split screen going with AJ and Steiner brawling in the crowd and Booker brawling with Devon in the back. Devon slams Booker into the side of a production truck while AJ slams Steiner into a wall. I’m trying by best to keep up with both brawls. AJ fights Steiner into the crowd as Tenay says the referee has thrown this match out.
Winner: NO CONTEST
Devon hits Booker with a trashcan lid or something as AJ and Steiner continue to brawl up the stairs. AJ hits a Plancha off a wall onto Steiner underneath it as Kurt Angle walks up and blindsides Devon in the back as Nash distracted him. They beatdown on Brother Devon as AJ is down in the arena. Nash handcuffs Devon to a pole and Angle says they are going to kill AJ. In the ring Steiner slams AJ as Booker continues to pound Devon. Angle hits the Angle Slam on AJ as Steiner slides a chair into the ring. They put AJ’s arm in the chair but Consequences Creed, Jay Lethal, and Eric Young run out to make the save! The Mafia is just too many and they beat them down. Rhino runs down to the ring and takes out Angle and Nash. He takes Steiner and Booker out next but Angle hits him from behind and then Steiner hits him with a chair. The fans chant “Foley” as they continue the beatdown. Angle puts AJ’s arm back in the chair but Mick Foley’s music hits and he runs down to the ring. Foley lays out all the Mafia members with right hands and he calls for the Mandible Claw and he pulls out that damn sock! Mandible Claw on Angle but Nash saves him by pulling him out of the ring! Mick calls for a microphone as we go to commercials.
Mick Foley is still in the ring and he pulls out the Al Pacino, “just when I think I’m out, they pull me back in” line from the Godfather 3! Mick says that the MEM gave him no other choice but get involved. Mick says that he’s about to give MEM a Christmas present because Booker, Steiner, & Nash will be in a Six-Man Tag at Genesis against Brother Devon, AJ Styles, and………………MICK FOLEY! Mick says that at Genesis he is crossing the line! Now that was a big announcement.

Jeff and Angle throw several vicious stiff shots at each until security and TNA Agents break it up. They break free and throw several shot at them again and Kurt even pulls Jeff’s hair damn near out. BG James tells Angle to control himself and then Angle lays BG the hell out with a nasty sucker punch as the show ends. Final Thoughts
Well tonight was just not very good. There was one match in the first hour of the show, one match. In that whole hour there was one damn match and about 20 damn segments and promos. I thought with there only being one X-Division Tournament match on the show that it would get some decent time, but it only got a little over 5 minutes. The matches that were on the show were pretty damn good but come on man there was just too much backstage stuff. I know they are trying to get us to buy a PPV but give us some longer matchers at least.
The opening promo from Foley was just there. Not special at all.
Kiyoshi vs. Sabin was very solid for a short match. To me it seems like there is noway they can go anywhere other than Sabin vs. Shelley at Genesis with the way they are building this. I liked the interaction between Shelley and Young setting up the Semi Finals next week, but they could’ve kept it to the locker room instead doing the whole thing in the ring too.
Again, the Sarah Palin stuff is horrible and uncalled for. Stop it!
The sitdown interview with Jeff was okay but he didn’t really say anything that we haven’t heard over and over and over.
The tag match was going pretty good until the No Contest. They really put AJ over good fighting off all the MEM members until they all stormed him at the same time. Mick Foley getting back in to the ring at Genesis is very interesting but I think none of the fans will be satisfied until he nearly kills himself once again in a Street Fight type of match.
I loved the Knockouts Street Fight. Great in ring-action from all the girls with Taylor stealing the show. I don’t like Lumberjack Matches but I’m very interested to see the Kong/Christy rematch.
The Main Event was a good match until the end, but Jeff and Angle had a nice fight. They honestly look like they want to kill each other everytime they have interaction between one another.
More wrestling, less talking that’s all I ask for.
