Indy star Josh Alexander to retire in July after neck surgery

Alpha-1 Wrestling out of Canada posted the following video over the weekend, announcing that Independent star Josh Alexander, who is most known for his time in Mid-West indies AAW and AIW, along with runs in PWG, ROH and SMASH Wrestling, will have to undergo neck fusion surgery in July that will force him to retire from wrestling. Alexander has sustained a number of injuries in recent years and had just became champion in AAW and AIW, notably defeating Samoa Joe in a 3-Way match in May to win the AAW Title. Alexander will finish out his previously committed dates over the next month before undergoing the career-ending surgery to his neck, including his final match for Alpha-1 Wrestling on July 12, teaming with longtime Monster Mafia tag-team partner, Ethan Page.

On behalf of the staff at Wrestleview.com, we send out our thoughts to Alexander and his family & friends during this rough time. You can view the video announcing his surgery below.
