Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s ROH on Sinclair recap. If you all are ready, then let’s get on with the show!

This week is a special “Road Rage” episode of the show, with highlights of some matches from a recent live event in Charleston, WV on June 15th. Kevin Kelly & ROH Executive Producer Jim Cornette welcome us to the show and then take us to pre-match comments from Mike Mondo, who we will see in the opening match this week.

We go backstage where Veda Scott is with Mondo and she says that tonight’s match with Davey Richards may be the biggest of Mondo’s career.

Mondo: “Yeah, that’s right, Richards”. “Yo wolf boy, why don’t you get to your television screen so you can hear me a bit clearer?” “For the first time ever here in Charleston, Mondo & Richards in Ring of Honor”. “Yeah Davey, pfft, I don’t like you, pfft, you kidding me?” “Sure as heck don’t fear you, but as hard as it is to roll off my tongue, unfortunately, I do respect you, Davey”. “We’ve both been all around the world, we’ve competed and beaten the best from all around the world, but Davey, you call yourself the best in the world?” “I call you bluff, punk”. “That’s right, you ain’t the best until you’ve defeated this man and Davey, you always say the hunt is on?” “Well tonight, you are the hunted and you will fall and pray to “No Fear” Mike Mondo”.

Before the bell sounds, Richards wants to adhere to the Code of Honor, but Mondo shoves him away. Lock-up and Richards with a wristlock, but Mondo spins out into a wristlock of his own and takes Richards down. Mondo drives his knee into Richards’ arm, but Richards kips up, then cartwheels, followed by spinning out into a bridging position and finally kicks Mondo in the side of the head to break the hold. Lock-up and Mondo spins around Richards before nailing him with a club to the back. Mondo trash talks Richards, who then nails him with a spinning back kick to the gut. Richards with a kick to the chest, then locks in a side headlock. Irish whip by Mondo and no one goes down on a shoulder tackle attempt by both men. Mondo taunts Richards, then goes off the ropes, but no one goes down again on the dueling shoulder tackle attempts. Richards plays to the crowd, then goes off the ropes, Mondo with a leapfrog, but then Richards hooks Mondo in an O’Connor Roll for a nearfall. Then, right out of the pin attempt, Richards hooks Mondo in a seated surfboard. Richards spins over for a pin attempt, but then Mondo spins back over and hooks Richards in his own seated surfboard, shocking Richards. Mondo then spins over and gains a nearfall. Both men then trade armdrags, Mondo blocks a Richards kick, Richards shoos off a Mondo dropkick attempt, Mondo ducks underneath Richards’ running kick attempt and we are at a stalemate.

Both men go for a knucklelock, but Mondo spins around Richards, leapfrogs over him, then goes for a victory roll attempt, but Richards counters by dropping down for a nearfall. Mondo then counters out into his own pin attempt for a nearfall. Both men go for a knucklelock again, but this time Mondo kicks Richards in the gut. Irish whip by Mondo, but Richards goes up & over, then does a forward roll. Mondo charges in, but Richards catches him and then hooks Mondo in a backslide for a nearfall. Mondo then pops right up and does a snapmare roll through into a pinning predicament for a nearfall. Richards with an armdrag, then hooks both of Mondo’s arms into another pinning predicament for another nearfall. Both men then go for an armdrag and both saw it coming to block it so we have another stalemate.

The crowd chants “This is wrestling” as Mondo & Richards stare each other down. Mondo with a forearm to Richards, then taunts the crowd. Irish whip by Mondo, but Richards moves out of the way on Mondo’s charge in and maneuvers himself onto the apron. Richards goes to send Mondo headfirst off the top turnbuckle, but Mondo blocks it. Mondo then sends Richards headfirst off the top turnbuckle. Mondo goes off the ropes, but Richards pulls down the top rope, causing Mondo to sail over the ropes and to the outside. Richards then drills Mondo with a the apron running kick, catching Mondo right in the face. Richards with a pair of kicks to the chest as he leads Mondo around the ringside area. Richards with a knee to the gut, followed by another kick to the chest of Mondo. Richards plays to the crowd, then sends Mondo back into the ring. Richards heads up top and goes for a double stomp, but Mondo moves out of the way as Richards rolled through it. Richards charges, but Mondo drops down, causing Richards to sail through the ropes and to the outside. Richards gets onto the apron, but Mondo charges and connects with a running shoulder tackle to the gut of Richards, knocking him off the apron and crashing hard into the barricade as we go to commercial.

Commercial

Back from commercial as Mondo has Richards in a seated abdominal stretch. Richards breaks free with a pair of knees to the head, then goes off the ropes, but Mondo catches him with a kitchen sink. Mondo locks in an Indian Deathlock, followed by pressing down on Richards’ gut with both fists. Headbutt by Mondo, followed by an Irish whip, but Richards reverses it. Mondo goes for a Sunset flip, but Richards counters out with a double stomp to the chest.

With 2 minutes remaining in the 15 minute time limit, both men exchange forearms until Richards gains the advantage with a series of forearms. Mondo comes back with a knee to the gut, then goes off the ropes. Richards with a leapfrog, then catches Mondo coming in with a dropkick that sends Mondo to the outside. Richards then gets a head of steam and nails Mondo with a tope dive onto the outside. The crowd chants “ROH” as Richards sends back into the ring and heads up top as there is 1 minute remaining in the time limit. Richards with a front missile dropkick that sends Mondo into the corner. Richards charges, but Mondo gets his boots up. Mondo charges, but Richards drills him with a roundhouse kick to the head, followed by a German suplex for a close nearfall. Richards then locks in the Ankle Lock, then grapevines the leg of Mondo with 30 seconds remaining. Mondo stops himself from tapping out as the time limit expires.

Time Limit Draw

Richards wants 5 more minutes and the referee will give it to him as long as Mondo wants it, but Mondo decides its better to fight another day as he leaves the ring while we go to commercial.

Back from commercial, we see highlights of the 4-Way Proving Ground Match between ROH TV Champion Roderick Strong, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly & BJ Whitmer that saw Cole get the win on Strong and earn himself a future ROH TV Title match.

Back from commercial, as Jim Cornette is in the ring with a couple of local executives from the Charleston, WV area to hype up the ROH TV show in the Charleston market before the main event.

Main Event in a Texas Death Match: Jay Briscoe vs. ROH Tag Team Champion (at the time of this event) “The Outlaw” Charlie Haas

The rules of the Texas Death Match are that once someone scores a pinfall or submission, the opponent has 10 seconds to get back to his feet. Also, after each fall, there will be a 30 second rest period.

Haas does not wait for the ring intros as he goes after Jay with a kick to the gut. Haas with a pair of clubs & right hands, followed by an Irish whip. However, Jay catches Haas with a Sunset flip for the 1st pinfall. Jay rains in a series of right hands as we go to commercial.

Commercial

Back from commercial as Jay rains in a series of right hands to Haas on the outside. Jay with a kick to the gut, followed by a club to the back. Irish whip by Jay sends Haas hard into the barricade. Jay gets the ring bell and the hammer and proceeds to ring Haas’ bell as he places the bell over Haas’ head before nailing it with the hammer. Jay now with a steel chair and he throws that into the ring. Jay rains in more right hands, then goes for a clothesline, but Haas counters with a back suplex onto the top of the barricade. Back in the ring, Haas gains his 1st pinfall. Haas doesn’t wait for the rest period as he kicks Jay in the face. Haas unloads with stomps on Jay as the crowd chants “Man Up” to will Jay on. Jay gets up at the 3 count but then Haas nails him with a right hand. Haas chokes Jay in the corner, followed by a club to the back. Jay comes back with a gut shot, followed by a pair of right hands, but then Haas rakes his eyes. Haas shoves Jay into the corner, then charges, but Jay catches him with a boot to the face. Jay then goes for a clothesline, but Haas catches him with an exploder suplex for Haas’ 2nd pinfall. Haas again does not wait for the rest period as he unloads with more stomps on Jay. Jay is back up again at 3, but Haas is right on him with a right hand. Headfirst goes Jay off the top turnbuckle as Haas with a stomp, a jab and a right hand. Haas with another right hand, followed by a snapmare takeover and finally a hard kick between the shoulderblades of Jay. Hard Irish whip by Haas sends Jay backfirst into the bottom turnbuckle. Headbutt by Haas, but Jay comes back with a series of forearms, but Haas comes back with a kick to the gut. Haas with a clothesline in the corner, followed by a hiptoss for a nearfall. Haas locks in a chinlock as the crowd continues to chant “Man Up” to will on Jay. Haas then switches to choking Jay with his wrist tape, but Jay breaks free. Jay goes off the ropes, Haas misses a clothesline, but then pulls down the top rope, causing Jay to sail over the ropes and to the outside where he crashes hard into the barricade. Haas goes out after Jay and kicks him in the face. Haas then sends Jay headfirst into the barricade. Haas chokes Jay with his boot, then sends Jay facefirst into the steel chair that is placed by one of the barricades at ringside. Haas screams at Kevin Kelly at the announce table, then rains in more right hands as we go to commercial.

Commercial

Back from commercial as Jay tries for a piledriver on the outside, but Haas counters out with a backdrop. The crowd chants “You suck” to Haas as he sends Jay back into the ring. Haas now has a steel chair and taunts the crowd with it, while also jaw-jacking with some in the front row. However, Haas takes too much time taunting the crowd as Jay kicks the steel chair into Haas’ face and both men are down. The crowd again chants “Man Up” to will on Jay as both men get to their feet by the referee’s 6 count. Both men exchange right hands until Jay gains the advantage with a series of jabs. Jay goes for a big right hand, but Haas blocks it. Haas then hits the Outlaw Slam, but in doing so, Jay’s legs hit the referee in the face, knocking him down. Haas goes for a cover, but there is no referee. Haas then goes to the outside and shoves down ring announcer Bobby Cruise so he can set up a table. Haas goes to bring the table into the ring, but Jay nails the table back into him with a baseball slide.

Jay puts the table into the ring as Jim Cornette leaves the announce table to go check on the referee, who is still out after hitting the back of his head on a steel chair after Jay’s legs hit him in the mist of Haas hitting Jay with the Outlaw Slam. Jay now with a steel chair and he drills Haas across the back with it. Jay then goes to the back while Haas is still down. Jay comes back out with a piece of steel fencing and a cooler full of weapons, including a kendo stick. The crowd chants “He’s got goodies” as Jay throws them into the ring, including a road cone and a couple of beers. Jay shakes the beer can and then sprays it into the eyes of Haas. Jay then nails Haas with the beer can. Jay sends Haas back into the ring, then takes the other beer can and has himself a cold one. Jay throws the beer can into the face of Haas, then drills him with a superkick. Jay sets up the table, then rains in right hands on Haas. However, Jay takes too long in setting up because Haas drills him with the road cone. However, it has no effect on Jay as he nails Haas with a clothesline. Jay places Haas on the table, then heads up top and puts Haas through the table with a double stomp. Through the censoring, the crowd chants “Holy S**t” as Jay landed on the referee, who is still down. Jay goes for the cover, but there is still no referee. Jay setups a steel chair, then stomps Haas. Jay setups another steel chair and puts the two chairs across from one another. Jay grabs the piece of steel fencing and puts it on top of the two steel chairs. Jay then drills Haas with a Death Valley Driver across the steel fencing. The crowd chants “ROH” as Jay goes to the outside and grabs the kendo stick as Haas, in an act of desperation, kicks the referee to knock him back down.

Haas then with a low blow, followed by drilling Jay in the head with the kendo stick. Haas goes for the cover, but due to his own action, there is still no referee. Haas goes to the outside and grabs the same ether can he used at Border Wars, along with a towel. Haas sprays the towel, but misses the chance to use it on Jay as Jay ducks, then drills Haas in the head with the kendo stick. Jay now has the towel & the can as Jay then throws the towel into the crowd and drills Haas in the head with the can for the pinfall.

Haas tries to get up before the 10 count, but at the count of 9, falls through the ropes to the outside and is out.

Winner: Jay Briscoe

Jay celebrates his victory as we go to credits.
