Report by: Jason Namako of Wrestleview.com

We see the usual intro, then we hear the music of the H.O.T. as Truth Martini, Matt Taven & the Hoopla Hotties make their way to the ring. Martini has a mic and says they are the H.O.T, too hot for TV. Jay Lethal, at Best in the World, we will see if you got what it takes to take what we got, the ROH TV Title. Matt Taven is a fighting champion, so what I will do is throwing an open challenge for a Proving Ground match. If anyone in the back as the guts, come on down.

The challenge is answered by Pepper Parks, who makes his way to the ring. Crowd chants for Parks as Martini says just look at you, listen closely, “Sugar”. What makes you think you are in the same league as Matt Taven? The difference between you two is Taven is his dad’s pride and joy, while you are your dad’s disappointment. Parks grabs the mic and says he has been around a long time, so I am gonna take your silly Willy Wonka hat, gonna grab Pauly Shore’s hair over here, referencing Taven. Taven tries to attack Parks, but Parks sees it coming and decks Taven, starting the match.

“Inside Ring of Honor”

Michael Elgin says Tommaso Ciampa thought there would be anger on this face, but no, I’m smiling. You thought I’d be mad? You have been on the sidelines and you come back and wanna pick a fight with the biggest dog in the yard. That is exactly what I would have done. You have shown that you got guts, that you are a little psycho, but have you seen what I have done? I had no clue you would be in my path to the ROH World Title, but a fight like that, I welcome with open arms. At Best in the World, you find out I’m unbreakable and you realize that they say God created all men equal, THEY WERE WRONG!!!

Adam Cole says that there has been a lot of talk lately about my apparent attitude change. What bothers me is that my integrity has not changed. Since I started in ROH, I set my sights on being the best. I was on my way to doing that until I lost the ROH TV Title. That changed something inside me. It made me realize that in ROH, all that matters are wins and losses. Come Best in the World, I face one of the very best to be in an ROH ring, Roderick Strong. At Best in the World, Adam Cole will walk away as a winner.

Kevin Steen says if someone told him 10 years ago that I’d be standing in front of an ROH camera, talking about a match with Matt Hardy on iPPV in Baltimore, I would have said they were crazy. Turns out that is exactly what will be happening. Matt, 10 years ago, I was watching you make a name for yourself falling through tables, jumping off ladders, getting hit by chairs. I’m sure that was hard on you, but it will be nothing like what is gonna happen to you in Baltimore. When we face each other, I am gonna make you wish you were jumping off a ladder, falling through a table, hit by a chair. Matt Hardy, there are many people who wanna cure cancer, I will be the 1st one to do it when I take you out for good.

Back from commercial, its about time for our main event, but then, we hear the music of SCUM as Steve Corino, Rhett Titus, Jimmy Jacobs & Cliff Compton make their way to the ring. Corino has a mic and says that for 11 long years, this company that you love, ROH, has made mistake after mistake. Guys have come & gone. Nigel McGuinness, you made three of the worst mistakes you could ever made. First, I can forgive not giving Matt Hardy the World Title shot at Best in the World because the inevitable is Matt Hardy WILL BE the ROH World Champion, because that’s the way I wrote that. Once again, though, you took the cowards’ way out. You sanctioned #1 contenders matches, but you left out Rhett Titus, Cliff Compton & Jimmy Jacobs. I know it was your elaborate plan to put your “boys” on Best in the World, C & C Wrestlefactory & that ingrate, Jay Lethal, when you know for a fact, you limey, piece of garbage. Crowd chants for Nigel to mess up Corino. Corino says the crowd would like to see that, but Nigel is a part of that stinky management and you are darn lucky that I didn’t file a lawsuit after what Nigel did to me at Border Wars. I could’ve went to HR, I could’ve filed a lawsuit, you would have been outta here. You did the wrong thing by putting your hands on me and then you don’t give my men title shots? You are nothing but a worthless coward. You know ROH is going down and you as the captain should go down with it. Corino dares Nigel to go after him, who gets up the commentary table, and he will sue.

Crowd chants for Nigel as Corino tells him to run, but then Jay Lethal & C & C come out. Corino says they were just talking about Lethal & C & C. C & C lost cleanly to Titus & Compton, the next ROH Tag Champions. And Lethal, you lost cleanly to Jimmy Jacobs. Lethal & C &C get into the ring as Corino says to the “ring of homies”, relax. Corino asks if he struck a nerve as the crowd chants “that was racist?” Corino says that Nigel needs to make the right decisions before I burn this company to the ground because if I snap my finger, Lethal & C & C don’t make to Best in the World. Nigel dares him to do it, so Corino does, but Lethal & C & C get the better of SCUM while Corino & Nigel stare each other down. Corino walks off as referees & security come in to break it up. Corino & Nigel continue their staredown as we go to commercial.
