But it's a vast and untapped market, and the people at TNA apparently just figured what the hell. Everything about the first Ring Ka King season seems geared toward making this ridiculous American art form intelligible to an audience that has no idea what it's watching. And it appears to be working: According to some reports, the show's first episode garnered 14 million viewers. If that's true, it makes the Ring Ka King TV by far the most-watched pro wrestling program on the planet, with an audience several times larger than the American crowd who watches Monday Night Raw every week."

Three of the men most affected by their destruction - "Handicapped Hero" Gregory Iron (who had to watch his best friend's career ended), Michael Façade (who has been deprived of the PWO TV Title many claim rightfully should be his) and Jason Bane (who went to hell and back to battle Krimson last summer, and has been stalked by Krimson ever since) are joining forces for one monumental six man tag team encounter! Can Bane, Façade and Iron shift the momentum back away from Krimson and his demonic disciples?

Johnny Gargano vs. Bobby Beverly
A few weeks ago, Beverly returned after several weeks in exile, helping Bobby Shields pin Gargano. Beverly would later claim he was on a mission to seek out Sex Appeal's missing piece to their puzzle. Justin counted Fontaine's shoulders to the mat, however, it appeared Fontaine's foot was under the bottom rope. This should have stopped the count, though it did not. Was it a bad call? Or was it sabotage? We're not sure, but word has it Marion Fontaine, who is not scheduled, intends to show up and find answers himself! Will we find out Justin LaBar's motives once and for all?

Krimson Responds To Matt Mason
Following Krimson's injury inflicted to Flip Kendrick, we saw Matt Mason make his very first appearance in PWO. Since then, we've learned Mason to be Krimson's former best friend, prior to being called "Krimson". Matt has stated the negativity and evil has consumed his former friend and he'll stop at nothing to exorcise that evil for the good of everyone around him. Mason is a great athlete, a family man, and a promising competitor, but is he ready for Krimson? It has seemed that Krimson has shown restraint so far, holding his minions back from pounding on his one-time pal. Will this continue? Krimson addresses the matter this week.

"Mr RBI" Izeah Bonds vs. Dan Arkham
After Arkham defeated Bonds in Bonds' PWO debut, the would-be baseball star has demanded a rematch. The WWE video leads us into the show.

The Smackdown video plays, and we're brought into the arena with a fireworks show. Josh Mathews, Michael Cole, and Booker T welcome us to the show. Tonight we'll see WWE Champion CM Punk take on the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. We'll also see Big Show take on Mark Henry.

Lillian Garcia asks the crowd to welcome the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan to the ring. Daniel Bryan comes down to the ring celebrating like crazy with his girlfriend AJ. The announcers recap how Sheamus chose Daniel Bryan at Elimination Chamber. Bryan says when he won the Smackdown Money in the Bank contract in July and said he was going to main event WrestleMania, not a single person believed him. No one believed him, yet here he stands as the World Heavyweight Champion. He's also heading to the main event of WrestleMania. Santino Marella tried to channel Rocky Balboa heading into the Elimination Chamber, but he is a role model. He is the real "Rocky" story. Santino, The Great Khali, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, and the Big Show – he beat them all. You want Rocky? He grabs AJ and says, "Yo AJ, I did it!"

As he was celebrating, physically spent after defeating five other men in one of the most grueling, barbaric matches ever constructed, his moment was ruined. Sheamus ruined his moment. Well not it's his turn. He is going to ruin Sheamus' moment at WrestleMania. He will show Sheamus and everyone watching around the world that he will be victorious. Tonight, he will be victorious against CM Punk.

The Miz's music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. The Miz says that Bryan is the World Heavyweight Champion, but he says Bryan is wrong. He wasn't the only one that believed he would become a World Champion; he knew Bryan would. The Miz says he mentored and molded Bryan into becoming a World Champion. From his first day on NXT, he knew he would become a World Champion. The Miz isn't here to get thanks or steal the spotlight; he's just out there to say congratulations. The Miz congratulates him on being in the main event of WrestleMania, just like he did last year. As Bryan continues to follow in his footsteps and embarrass Sheamus at WrestleMania, they should form a tag team one day.

Sheamus' music hits, and the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship makes his way to the ring. Sheamus rips the microphone out of The Miz's hands, and he goes face to face with Bryan. Sheamus congratulates Bryan on being a massive arse and a hypocrite. Bryan is no role model. He's just a coward. He'd rather hide behind a woman's skirt than stand up and fight like a man. Sheamus also congratulates him on hanging out with someone almost as conceited as Bryan, meaning The Miz. Sheamus says no one will congratulate Bryan at WrestleMania. They'll say he got exactly what he deserved. The Miz takes the microphone, and he says Sheamus deserves to be taken down a notch or two. The Miz says Sheamus interrupted him and tried to steal the thunder from the World Champion. Sheamus tells The Miz to let the lads who actually have a match at WrestleMania do the talking.

Out of nowhere, Daniel Bryan punches Sheamus and immediately bolts from the ring. The Miz starts to attack, and Sheamus comes right back. Sheamus throws him out of the ring, and he stares at Bryan as he goes up the ramp.

-Commercial Break-

The Miz vs. Sheamus

Teddy Long booked this match during the break. Sheamus has The Miz down in an overhead wristlock. The Miz fights up, gets sent to the ropes, and he kicks Sheamus in the face. The Miz charges, and Sheamus drops him to the apron. Sheamus catches him with the vicious clubs to the chest. The Miz falls to the outside. Sheamus follows, and he kicks Miz as he talks a little trash. Sheamus puts him back in the ring, and he shoulders Miz in the gut. Sheamus hits a slingshot shoulder block for a near fall. The Miz rolls to the apron, and he snaps Sheamus' arm off the apron. The show opened up with a nice little promo from Daniel Bryan gloating about his win and how nobody ever believed in him. This is exactly the type of promo he’s needed to cut; unfortunately, we had to go through a lot of him throwing stuff at the wall and seeing if it sticks, i.e. the Vegan thing. Thank goodness that’s over with – at least I hope. The Miz came out, and I was immediately intrigued, given their tumultuous history dating back to Bryan’s NXT days. Now that both men are on the same side of the line, Miz did a very nice job of putting Bryan over. This eventually brought out Sheamus, and he did a great job as well. Sheamus zinged Bryan pretty good about his manhood, and it did a nice job of setting up the basis for their WrestleMania feud. His complete dismissal of The Miz also did well in setting up the opening match.

This isn’t a radical idea – I truly think that The Miz will be one of the guys coming over to Smackdown in the draft. I feel like he’s completely lost on Raw, and a move to Smackdown would get his head above water again, where it belongs. Sheamus vs. The Miz is a feud I’d like to see in the future, if that move does happen. I think they match up well, and I thought they looked good against each other tonight. This was a good showing for Sheamus heading into WrestleMania, and a nice look at a possible new member of Smackdown in the future.

The tag team match was just there for me. There wasn’t anything wrong with it nor was there anything great about it. I did enjoy Vickie Guerrero’s involvement, and the temper tantrum she threw at ringside when Jack Swagger nearly landed on her. Sometime after that they threw in a Great Khali squash that was what it was.

I enjoyed the Mark Henry and Big Show match tonight. Mark Henry is such a joy to watch. Henry has, without a doubt, the best trash talk in the wrestling business. When he was shouting at the Big Show it was completely believable. I’m so glad this guy is back on the roster. The match itself was fine until the end. Big Show knocks him out and, instead of pinning him, chases after Cody Rhodes. Rhodes was unimpressive in antagonizing Big Show with the video. He didn’t set it up well, and the video did all the talking for him. I did get a kick out of the music they used for the video and the shots. It looks like they’re setting up for Cody Rhodes and Big Show at WrestleMania, so that kills the rumored Shaquille O’Neil matchup everyone was talking about. Maybe it’ll be a tag match? It also kills off the Cody vs. Goldust match I was hoping for, though I think I was one of the only ones hoping for that.

David Otunga handily defeated Ezekiel Jackson much like he did last night on Raw. This isn’t the story. The story is John Laurinaitis vs. Teddy Long. This angle dominated a lot of this show, including the main event. That’s fine with me. Set up the little stuff now so the big feuds can take the main spotlight as WrestleMania gets closer. I kind of like the feud – it may seem silly to you, but I spend a lot of time with this show every week. Smackdown has almost become like a sports team for me. If it’s going to be the Raw GM vs. the Smackdown GM, as much as I’ve criticized Teddy Long, I’m going to be rooting for Teddy Long. It’s an interesting little storyline, and it’ll be a good way to get some guys a WrestleMania payday and also be involved in a pseudo-meaningful feud. I’ll come back to this feud during the next section.

I thoroughly enjoyed CM Punk and Daniel Bryan’s unofficial 2-out-of-3 falls match tonight. These two, obviously, matchup well, and I think they definitely delivered a fun, visually satisfying match. The crowd was definitely eating up everything they did. How nasty was that stomp Bryan was doing to Punk’s arm? That looked absolutely painful. It ended with Sheamus throwing Bryan back into the ring (he was trying to retreat), and Punk pinned him. John Laurinaitis came out, said Punk cheated, and the match restarted. Bryan soon pinned Punk by holding the ropes, and Teddy Long came out (to quite possibly the biggest reception he’s ever gotten) to restart the match once again. The final part of the match wound up with the two of them pinning one another, and no winner was declared. Long and Laurinaitis argued over which guy won, and they really got in each other’s faces. I loved this. When they started taking their jackets off I was starting to get really psyched. I was ready to root on my Smackdown guy. I don’t know how they’re going to keep this fresh and interesting for the next 40 days, but this was some good stuff tonight. Oh yeah, and the two world champions were involved in this somehow. This was probably one of the best live Smackdown episodes they’ve ever done. This actually felt like a Smackdown, and I really enjoyed it tonight.

Final Rating: ***

You can follow me on the Twitter here or e-mail me.

E-Mail – MikeTedesco@wrestleview.com

Did you miss last week’s Smackdown?
Diva Dirt sent this in.

Trish Stratus joined us again recently ahead of the DVD release of her debut movie, Bounty Hunters. We talk to Trish about the movie and whether she has any more movie roles in the pipeline, as well as talk wrestling. Trish talks about her return to WrestleMania last year, Tough Enough and whether she'd return for a second season, the John Morrison "cold shoulder" situation, Natalya's flatulence gimmick, what she'd book for 'Mania 28, the latest on her movie project with Amy 'Lita' Dumas and more.

Highlights:

What she would have booked for WrestleMania 28: "Personally, I would've loved to see Natalya and Beth go and run towards 'Mania. If you'd asked me a year ago what I would book for 'Mania this year, I would've had Beth and Nattie run together as a team and I would've done the Triple H/Batista angle where I would've had [Natalya] turned and at the end, we'd have those two at WrestleMania. To me that would've been an epic moment. Maybe that would've been a good time for Nattie to win the championship back or something like that."

John Morrison "cold shoulder" following WrestleMania 27: "It probably blew up more than it did between us. It was one of those moments where he was straight up saying, 'I just really a fan of you coming in', and that's fine, everybody's entitled to their opinion. It's just unfortunate that his personal feelings translated to our match and that's where I had the problem.

"We had that moment after Raw where that cold shoulder happened and I said to him, 'It's too bad that that happened'. I shook hands, I said, 'It was a pleasure working with you. Personally I'm a fan. I love the idea of John Morrison and Trish Stratus as a team. I think it would've been cool'."

"If I go back, if we had been on the same page with things, we could've created some awesome moments between us. Like when Carlito and I were a tag team, we had similar styles and we got some really neat, memorable moments. I think John Morrison and I -- that's what I was excited about doing, something like this. To me, it's just unfortunate that we couldn't get on the page. I wish I had known he was totally on the other side of the page and maybe [there] would've been a different approach altogether, rather than finding out live on Raw. [Laughs] But we're all entitled to our opinions, it's one of those things - you don't miss what you never had."

Whether there was a double standard because she was a female & if he'd have done the same thing with a male legend like Stone Cold or The Rock: "Maybe he thought he could do that a little bit more to me than he could to one of the male Superstars. Maybe there is a double-edged sword there. But who knows? It's fine. We move on."

On Natalya flatulence gimmick: "I haven't seen it so I can't comment on it directly, but hopefully it's one of those things where it just gets people talking and it's kind of like the Molly Holly thing where [we had] the 'junk in the trunk' [storyline]. People were like, 'I can't believe they're doing that to her', but at the end of the day, it got people interested, it got people invested, it got people into what they're doing and you have something to talk about."

Link to play full interview: http://www.diva-dirt.com/2012/02/21/listen-live-diva-dirt-live-with-special-guest-trish-stratus/

This column featured two of those times when independent wrestling gives back.

Here's are two wrestling related campaign designed to help the public. The first is designed to help the family of a longtime independent Philadelphia area wrestling fan who lost his battle with cancer; with the information courtesy of Jess Ragni and his widow Kylee.
Dustin Wells lost his battle with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. The disease is mainly found in childlren, and occasionally with teens. The disease is VERY rare to be found in adults over the age of 17, and when it is, it is very aggressive. The disease only affects 70 cases a year. Wells was diagnosed at age 24 with stage 3 rhabdoomyosarcoma; and he lost the fight against this disease recently. His wife had put together a Facebook to publicize the disease and Dustin's fight against it at <A HREF=https://www.facebook.com/Hope4DustNRhabdo">this link. Fans, those within independent wrestling and readers in general need to rally and help raise money for Dustin's family during this time of need.
Jess and Bay Ragni (aka Chubby Dudley for all of you oldtime ECW fans) and Dustin's friends have organized this campaign and this fundraising event. As Jess indicated, each of us at one time or another, have all unfortunately seen how horrible a disease cancer is and have lost someone to it, fought it, beat it, currently going thru it or have been defeated by it (this writer included).

Let's band together to celebrate the life of our friend Dustin who fought courageously for many years~he will be there in spirit with all of us; especially within his family. Cena walks up, and shakes his head.

The intro video hits and Michael Cole welcomes us to the RAW Supershow.

John Cena’s music blasts through the arena, and he makes his way down to the ring. Eve Torres walks out with a mic and begs Cena to listen to her. Cena says that she has been sipping the skank juice. Eve cost him a damn good friend. Cena says that he lost a “broski” for a “ho-ski”. The crowd begins a loud, “Hoski” chant. Eve cries out that she can explain. She claims that she was just joking around, just having fun. Cena says that Eve shouldn’t be wasting her time with John, she should hold out for a bigger fish – The Rock. He says that they are perfect for each other, they are both scandalous bitches.

Eve falls to the mat and begins to cry. John says that for Eve’s information, he is disease free – and he’d like to keep it that way! Referees have come down to the ring to assist the distraught Eve. Sheamus dodges two clotheslines and begins to pound on Henry. Mark gradually gets back to his feet and catches hold of Sheamus. Henry lifts him into the air for a World’s Strongest Slam, but Sheamus scurries free. Sheamus hits a Brogue Kick, and this match is over!

Winner via Brogue Kick: Sheamus

--John Laurinaitis is in his office with David Otunga. John says that people are talking about his big announcement from the PPV last night. Teddy Long walks into his office. Long says that he is here for business. Laurinaitis says that the idea to be GM of both shows came from David Otunga. He also claims that he had no idea Christian, Henry and Del Rio were going to return last night and support his quest. Teddy says that one man should be running both shows, but that man should be him. Long says that the fans should decide who will be the GM. Laurinaitis says that it only depends on who the Board of Directors supports. Long takes a shot at Otunga and says that every single person on the Smackdown roster is better than David. This match is over!

Winner via The Grace of God: David Otunga

Video Recap: Shawn Michaels on RAW (2/13)

****Commercial****

The Undertaker’s music hits, and he slowly makes his way down to the ring. He says that every day for the last year he has replayed his match against HHH. He says it has been a living hell of uncertainty. That’s why he challenged HHH, to end the uncertainty. Never did he expect HHH to decline. Taker says that the decision isn’t Hunter’s to make. Taker says that they are the last of their kind. HHH’s corporate persona is just a layer to hide who he really is underneath. Taker calls out HHH to confront him.

HHH’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. HHH starts to talk, but Taker tells him to shut up. Taker tells him to save his pity, he doesn’t need it. What is really pitiful are the excuses that Hunter keeps coming up with not to have the match. HHH says that he understands that they are the last two of their kind. Hunter says that their job isn’t to end that era, but to see that the company continues. Hunter says that Taker’s fate is to be leader, to carry a torch for the next generation. HHH refuses to be the one to extinguish that flame. He calls it bad for business.

Taker asks if it is bad for business if he is gone, or if it’s bad for business that HHH will be gone? Hunter steps back for a moment and pauses. He says that it’s just plain bad for business. While Taker may have been living in uncertainty, HHH has never been so certain of anything in his life. Hunter says that Taker isn’t asking him for redemption, salvation or even vengeance. Taker is asking him for an end. HHH knows what he has to do to end Taker. HHH again refuses to do it. He will not be the one to finish Taker. HHH goes to leave the ring.

Taker says that HHH can put whatever spin he wants on the situation, but every day when he looks in the mirror all that he is going to see is a coward. Hunter walks back towards Taker and says that he sees what Taker is trying to do – it’s not going to work. Hunter says sorry, but the answer is no. HHH begins to walk up the entrance ramp. Taker says that he has just figured it out; Hunter knows that he can’t do what HBK couldn’t do. Hunter knows that Shawn was always better than him. Hunter is at the top of the entrance ramp and begins to undress.

Hunter walks back down to the ring with his shirt unbuttoned. Hunter says that this has nothing to do with Shawn, or who is better. Shawn couldn’t get the job done, but Hunter knows that he can. Hunter can do what Shawn couldn’t – finish Taker. The crowd chants, “Prove It”. HHH says that if the suit and tie cover up the layer of who he is, they are gone. HHH says that if Taker wants the match, if he wants everything to come to a head, to come to an end, then he’s got it! Hunter will face Taker at WrestleMania! HHH says if they do this, they go all the way. No return, no uncertainty, no excuses. The streak ends, the era ends, Taker gets his end. Hunter says that he will do this under one condition – Hell in a Cell! The Undertaker pats him on the back, and heads to the back.

****Commercial****

Daniel Bryan’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Bella rolls out of the ring, and her sister sneaks in for behind. This match is over.

Winners: The Bella Twins

****Commercial****

Back from the break, John Cena is in the ring. He says it is about to get hot in here. Before he was interrupted by Eve, he was out here to talk about The Rock, The guy who isn’t here this week. But, he’ll be on RAW next week to address Cena. He says that he used to love The Rock, but he morphed into “Dwayne”. He is no longer the People’s Champion. Cena says that this is the part where he is supposed to respect The Rock. But, he doesn’t. He will congratulate Dwayne on his box office success, but he has a legitimate beef with Dwayne. It’s the same problem that Cena has had with him for the past 7 years. Rock will come to RAW, cut a promo, and then head back to Hollywood. Cena says the only reason Rock came back in the first place was to promote Fast Five and launch a Twitter account. Cena says that he is fighting for every person behind the curtain who is a WWE Superstar, and wants to remain a WWE Superstar – unlike The Rock. Cena says that he fights for everyone who is proud to say that they are a professional wrestler. Cena promises that the ride to WrestleMania is going to be an entertaining one. Cena promises that he will defeat The Rock at WrestleMania!

****Commercial****

No. 1 Contendership Battle Royal
The Great Khali v. The Big Show v. Kofi Kingston v. Santino v. Punk extends his hand. Jericho coyly backs away and heads out of the ring.

David’s Thoughts

The opening segment is going to be love/hate depending on whether you like the soap opera elements of professional wrestling. We saw a very non-PG John Cena tear Eve a new one in the center of the ring. The blubbering mess on the mat being helped away by referees may have been a bit much, but I suppose it works. The segment was a little hokey for me, but I did enjoy the “hoeski” chant.

Sheamus rolled through Henry on his return to RAW. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two complete opposite ends of the color spectrum in a wrestling ring quite like what I see when Sheamus and Henry battle.

Looks like we’ll be getting a Laurinaitis/Long match at WrestleMania. Not in singles competition (thank God), but with a five on five match to determine brand supremacy with the winner becoming GM of both shows. At least, that’s where this storyline seems to be going.

Looks like Truth is Kofi’s latest partner. They picked up a win over the Champions, so a feud should be coming our way. I’d be lying if I said I cared.

Ezekiel Jackson lost a match to David Otunga. Well, that’s hilarious.

I’d like to point out that HHH undressed and then told Taker that they were going all the way. Hehe. (You’d think that in my mid-twenties I wouldn’t be such a child with my humor, but I mean – c’mon)

The Taker/HHH segment was strong on TV. The crowd ate up the interaction, especially HHH’s response. The WWE seems to really want this rematch, and so does the WWE Universe. Balls.

With Ryder out of action, Santino is really soaking up that fan base. They are eating him up, it’s crazy. His match against the World Heavyweight Champion was short, but the way the crowd reacts to him was a perfect catalyst for Bryan’s victory.

It was a really strong promo from John Cena tonight. It was emotional, gutsy, and showcased a side of Cena that has been absent for most of the past several years. When Cena is fired up, he cuts some of the best promos around. Unless you are a Cena hater, in which case he sucks and should be fired.

I’m totally appealing to the broader audience base of the site. (You’re welcome WrestleView Editor in Chief, Adam Martin)

No big surprise with Chris Jericho winning the Battle Royal. They didn’t really sell his pseudo-elimination from the Chamber on a physical level. But, they more than addressed it with Jericho’s backstage promo with Mathews. I’ll take it. Their feud should be one of the highlights of this WrestleMania season. I am eagerly anticipating their first one on one microphone duel. It should make for some strong television.

David Stephens
Follow me on Twitter!@TheDaveStephens

Visit WrestleView daily for unique columns, recaps, audio and more including my column That’s a Wrap! It's no fault of the girls, the girls are amazingly talented right now, there is a bunch of girls that are just waiting to break through and they really have the look and they have the talent which is obviously what it took to change the women's division from not just being having to look good in the ring but also being able to kick some butt in the ring.

The girls all have that but what I think is missing is the story-line development, the way we got approached back in the day was just like the way The Rock and Stone Cold would get approached. Someone would come to us and say, 'here's two characters, here's a story-line and here's where it's going to go, lets work towards a PPV match'.

Unfortunately nowadays that's what is missing, there's no real defining characters, there's no real outside story-lines that really create the moment because the fans can only become invested in a match when there has been a story-line they have invested their time in."

The reason I left was the PG direction the company took, it got too corny for me. I was a hug fan of the edgy era of DX, Stone Cold Steve Austin and those guys. The change in direction really ruined it for me. It's well recorded I'm not a fan of the likes of John Cena or The Miz. It's such a different company these days and not in a good way.

I've no plans to return anytime soon. I was offered the job of working on Tough Enough, I just didn't think it was for me. I hear it went well with Steve Austin and good luck to them. I need to be excited by a project and I didn't feel that way about Tough Enough. If I did return to the WWE, it would be for a run not just a one-shot deal. I'd have to be a constant for them not someone who drifts in and out to boost ratings. If I did I'd love to work with Triple H again or Undertaker. They are the best workers there in my opinion and they'd make it worthwhile to return. The show would have to change though, so I can't see my return being anytime soon can you?"
