AJ Styles w/ Ric Flair vs. Jay Lethal

Lots of back and forth early on with Styles and Lethal feeling each other out. Styles with a headlock and Lethal responds with a takedown into a head scissors. Styles with a big dropkick to the knee of Lethal. Styles with a series of chops to Lethal. Lethal with a cartwheel into a dropkick to the face of Styles. Lethal with a quick backbreaker on Styles. Lethal misses a dive on Styles. Styles stops himself from taking out Lethal when Lethal moves out of the way. Lethal then tripped up Styles on the ring apron. Styles landed with a thud. Flair walked around and checked on Styles. Lethal with a big chop to Styles in the corner. Styles then crotches Lethal on the top rope. They exchange chops near the top rope and Styles drops Lethal with a huge kick to the head. Styles drops a knee over the head of Lethal. Lethal with more chops to Styles. Lethal catches Styles with a big spinning side kick to the head. Styles responds right away with a big back suplex. Styles distracts the referee as Flair starts choking Lethal with his sports coat.

Lethal attempts a comeback, but Styles drops a big elbow to the back of the head. Lethal catches Styles with a springing back flying elbow. Styles with a front face lock on Lethal. Lethal breaks out and slaps Styles. Lethal catches Styles with a big boot and connects with a jumping leg lariat. Lethal with a corner dropkick and the executes the Lethal Combination on Styles. Styles counters a springboard attempt by Lethal hitting a Death Valley Driver into a backbreaker combo. Flair trips up the leg of referee Earl Hebner. Hebner yells at Flair to back off. Lethal with an impressive back supex and then twisting in mid air to drop Styles with a neckbreaker. Styles is able to recover and get a Figure Four locked on Lethal. Lethal is able to reach the ropes to break it up. Styles with a big brainbuster on Lethal, cover and Lethal gets a shoulder up after two. Styles attempts a Styles Clash, but Lethal counters and hits a big release Dragon Suplex. Flair pulls Styles’ leg under the bottom rope to break up the pinfall attempt by Lethal.

Lethal then grabs Styles and applies a Figure Four in front of Flair. Flair flips out. Styles gets to the ropes to break it up. Lethal misses a flying elbow attempt. Styles catches Lethal with a Pele Kick. Styles favors his knee as he starts climbing up the corner and ends up dropping down on his face. Styles fights to the second rope, springboards off, Lethal catches him in mid air into a northern lights suplex into a bridge for the pinfall.

Winner: Jay Lethal

After the match, Ric Flair hits the ring and is furious. Jay Lethal jumps out and celebrates his win with the fans in the Impact Zone. Kazarian runs down and tries to hold off Flair who starts getting in the face of AJ Styles.

Backstage, Sting said he will cover lots of ground on his war against Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff tonight when he beats Rob Van Dam and takes his title officially.

Backstage, Christy Hemme is with Mr. Anderson and Jeff Hardy. Hardy said Beer Money is all talk. Anderson said they have a bigger problem: they don’t have a name. They come up with: Enegmatic Assholes.
