Major brand leaves TNA all alone on Spike TV

Street and Smith’s Sports Business Journal is reporting today that UFC has signed a new television deal with FOX network effective 2012, ending the company’s deal with Spike TV that lasted for seven years. This would bring most of the programming to the FX Network including shows that were previously carried on Spike such as “The Ultimate Fighter” and live event cards (a network that averages double the rating of Spike). Four major events are also expected on the FOX broadcast network. UFC’s departure from Spike had been rumored in recent months leaving TNA’s weekly “Impact Wrestling” show as one of the few, if not only show providing new weekly content on the network.
