PPV Predictions: TNA Hardcore Justice 2012

Predictions from the Faculty
TNA Hardcore Justice 2012 Edition
August 12, 2012
Predictions by: Wrestleview Columnists and Staff
Written by: Anthony Valvo of Wrestleview.com

Introduction

Welcome to the Round #13 of “Predictions from the Faculty” (Season #4). This weekend, we gathered our thoughts for the upcoming TNA Pay-Per-View, as we will provide our selections for Hardcore Justice! The show will be live at the Impact Zone in Orlando, FL.

The card is currently booked to have five matches. This is of course as of Saturday, August 11th. If they add any matches after Saturday evening then the matches will not count.

In case you are new to reading these predictions, here is the format. Each Pay-Per-View a few of the columnists, recappers, and radio hosts at Wrestleview provide predictions on who they think will win the matches. We accumulate the records throughout the end of the Faculty’s year (in this case, the 2013 Royal Rumble or WreslteMania XXIX as we are unsure of the decision).

What makes this entirely different to others is that you, the reader, can provide your picks for a spot to have yours posted in an upcoming PPV. You can participate by contacting me in any means under the “Dismissal” portion of this piece. The winner among the “Wrestleview Students” will win an opportunity to post their picks as a “Student of the Week” (if they outright defeat the reigning Students of the Week). We all thank you for your participation.

Tie-Breakers will determine standings!

I have decided to prevent some tiebreakers, I will issue points to Title Matches that are predicted correctly. There will be three championship matches on the card, so the maximum amount of points to go along with the win/loss standing will be THREE points. Also, if I throw out a pick for a championship, then obviously no bonus will be counted for that particular match.

But wait, to the Wrestleview “students”, there is more!

I got approval for this decision, and for the SECOND time in our four seasons the students will compete for PRIZES!!! That is right; we felt that your loyalty to the article shall be rewarded. However, the prizes* will not be handed out until the FINAL PPV Prediction of the season (which will be WWE’s Royal Rumble 2013). So not only will one get a chance to earn a Gold Star and be a part of this game, but it will be for a competition.

*Prizes go out to the top three (the most picked correctly and if needed tiebreaker points) positions and the worst (most matches picked incorrectly with the fewest tiebreaker points).

Predictions for TNA HardCore Justice

(Note: N/A means that a person’s picks are “not available” at the moment).

Non-Title Matches

Tag Team Match

Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and Hernandez vs. Gunner and Kid Kash

Nick G. – MEXICANS.

Evan O. – CHAVO GUERRERO AND HERNANDEZ.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – CHAVO AND HERNANDEZ. After Chavo’s debut, I just don’t see TNA jobbing him out so soon after weeks of buildup.

Greg M. – N/A.

Jason N. – MEXICAN AMERICA VERSION 2.

Darragh O. – GUNNER AND KID KASH.

Grash – CHAVO GUERRERO AND HERNANDEZ.

Josh B. – CHAVITO AND SUPER MEX.

Matt O. – CHAVO AND HERNANDEZ.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Chad R. – CHAVO GUERRERO AND HERNANDEZ.

Robert D. – CHAVO/HERNANDEZ.

James L. – CHAVO AND HERNANDEZ (BRING BACK ROOOOOOOO-SITA!!!, TM Doug Lackey)

Ryan R. – GUERRERO AND HERNANDEZ.

Jordan B. – MEXICAN GUYS.

Lilchino – CHAVO AND HERNANDEZ.

Steven H. – N/A.

CONSENSUS: CHAVO and HERNANDEZ 12-2. The story here is to establish Chavo Guerrero. The majority of the staff agreed that the team of Chavo and Hernandez will get the job done over their first test on Impact.

Ladder Match

Winner gets 20 points in the Bound for Glory Series

A.J. Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle

Nick G. – SAMOA JOE.

Evan O. – A.J. STYLES.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – ANGLE. Styles and Daniels are feuding, so I think they are going to take each other out. Joe won previously and would still have good standing in the top 4 after the match, so I am going to pick Angle.

Greg M. – N/A.

Jason N. – STYLES.

Darragh O. – A.J. STYLES.

Grash – A.J. STYLES.

Josh B. – A.J.

Matt O. – KURT ANGLE.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Chad R. – A.J. STYLES.

Robert D. – ANGLE.

James L. – STYLES WINS (needs points, shouldn’t be at the bottom, yeah, yeah, I know, “Crackhead Claire”, Daniels and Kaz, blah blah. He’s AJ BLEEPING STYLES!!!)

Ryan R. – KURT ANGLE.

Jordan B. – A.J. STYLES.

Lilchino – SAMOA JOE.

Steven H. – N/A.

CONSENSUS: STYLES with 8 (Angle 4, Joe 2, Daniels 0). It was not really close, as Styles got the majority vote as the predicted winner in this match.

Table Match

Winner gets 20 points in the Bound for Glory Series

James Storm vs. Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Robbie E

Nick G. – STORM.

Evan O. – JEFF HARDY.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. –STORM. If Aces and 8s interfere in any match, this will be the one. Besides, Ray’s Twitter mentioned the evil faction this weekend. Storm will get aid, and the story continues.

Greg M. – N/A.

Jason N. – HARDY.

Darragh O. – JEFF HARDY.

Grash – JAMES STORM.

Josh B. – STORM.

Matt O. – BULLY RAY.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Chad R. – JEFF HARDY.

Robert D. – JAMES STORM.

James L. – BULLY RAY WINS (he needs this, and he loves tables)

Ryan R. – JAMES STORM.

Jordan B. – STORM.

Lilchino – BULKY RAY.

Steven H. – N/A.

CONSENSUS: STORM with 7 (Jeff Hardy with 4, Bully with 3, Robbie with 0). The Bound for Glory Series needs Storm in the semi-finals for the World Title shot. To establish that standing, the faculty believes that Storm will win this match and earn the 20 points.

Falls Count Anywhere Match

Winner gets 20 points in the Bound for Glory Series

D’Angelo Dinero vs. Magnus vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Rob Van Dam

Nick G. – RVD.

Evan O. – ROB VAN DAM.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – VAN DAM. Magnus won’t be too much of a factor, but for some reason I think he will be the MVP of this match. Dinero, though charismatic, won’t fare well. Anderson, as much as he improved, is not championship material. Nor is RVD, but for some reason he goes over.

Greg M. – N/A.

Jason N. – POPE.

Darragh O. – MR. ANDERSON.

Grash – MAGNUS.

Josh B. – RVD.

Matt O. – MR. ANDERSON.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Chad R. – MR. ANDERSON.

Robert D. – RVD.

James L. – RVD WINS.

Ryan R. – MR. ANDERSON.

Jordan B. – RVD.

Lilchino – RVD.

Steven H. – N/A.

CONSENSUS: ROB VAN DAM with 8 (Anderson with 4, Dinero with 1, Magnus with 1). In the only 4-Way match were the participants earned one vote it was Van Dam with the majority in this prediction.

Championship Matches

Singles Match for the TNA Knockout’s Championship

Miss Tessmacher (c) vs. Madison Rayne

Nick G. – RAYNE.

Evan O. – MISS TESSMACHER.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – RAYNE. Now if Earl Hebner is the official, it is a no-brainer. If not, then Tessmacher retains. The story is that Rayne is using Earl to win back the KO Title. I think it happens.

Greg M. – N/A.

Jason N. – A$$MACHER.

Darragh O. – MISS TESSMACHER.

Grash – MISS TESSMACHER.

Josh B. – TESSMACHER.

Matt O. – MADISON RAYNE.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Chad R. – MISS TESSMACHER.

Robert D. – TESSMACHER.

James L. – TESS-FLOCKER. Madison Rayne, eh? I saw the four way qualifying match a few weeks ago, didn’t Brooke just win the thing at Slammiversary? Brooke retains.

Ryan R. – MADISON RAYNE.

Jordan B. – TESSMACHER.

Lilchino – MISS TESS.

Steven H. – N/A.

CONSENSUS: TESSMACHER 10-4. Tessmacher recently won the title after some hard fought matches with Gail Kim, so the staff believe that it is not time to drop the title to Rayne at the moment.

Singles Match for the TNA X Division Championship

Zema Ion (c) vs. Kenny King

Nick G. – ION.

Evan O. – ZEMA ION.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – ION. I think we are giving King too much credit. Ion has some good heel charisma and would benefit more with a successful defense than to have the upcoming King win the title. King’s time will arrive soon, just not now.

Greg M. – N/A.

Jason N. – ION.

Darragh O. – ZEMA ION.

Grash – KENNY KING.

Josh B. – KING.

Matt O. – ZEMA ION.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Chad R. – ZEMA ION.

Robert D. – ZEMA ION.

James L. – KENNY KING – Look, all I know after listening to Monday Night Mayhem’s recent prediction podcast is, it does indeed make sense to “strike” while Kenny King’s iron is proverbially “hot”. I know Zema being champ for 1 month would make about as much sense as Aries winning and keeping his belt for a month, but..I don’t know, something tells me Kenny King wins.

Ryan R. – ZEMA ION.

Jordan B. – ZEMA ION.

Lilchino – ZEMA.

Steven H. – N/A.

CONSENSUS: ION 11-3. Kenny King is going to be a big player in the X Division very soon, but on this PPV our staff went with the champion to retain.

Singles Match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship

Austin Aries (c) vs. Bobby Roode

Nick G. – A DOUBLE.

Evan O. – AUSTIN ARIES.

David S. – N/A.

Anthony V. – ARIES. I won’t be surprised if Roode wins it back, however a couple more weeks with Aries as champion won’t be a bad idea. Aries held his own the last five weeks. Next month (or sooner), look for Roode to be the champion.

Greg M. – N/A.

Jason N. – BOBBY ROO.

Darragh O. – AUSTIN ARIES.

Grash – AUSTIN ARIES.

Josh B. – ARIES.

Matt O. – AUSTIN ARIES.

Jose M. – N/A.

Mike T. – N/A.

Chad R. – AUSTIN ARIES.

Robert D. – ARIES.

James L. – ARIES RETAINS – To “hot potato” the title on Bobby Roooooooooooooooooo (TM Christy Hemme) would be really dumb, even if they wanted Roode and Aries at BFG or whatever the next PPV is for them.

Ryan R. – AUSTIN ARIES.

Jordan B. – (as much as I hope not) BOBBY ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO(de).

Lilchino – ARIES but leaning towards no contest because of aces and 8s.

Steven H. – N/A.

CONSENSUS: ARIES 12-2. The fans as a whole really enjoy Aries as the champion, so why ruin the fun before the summer ends? Our staff in a vast majority chose A-Double to retain the championship…for now.
