Sting’s son receives D-1 football scholarship

The USA Today reported today that TNA Hall of Famer Sting’s son Steve Borden Jr. signed with new Kentucky Wildcats football coach Mark Stoops as his first recruit since taking the job at Kentucky. Borden will transfer from Kilgore College in Texas and play Tight End for the Wildcats. The 6’4″, 240 lb. TE chose Kentucky over another scholarship offer from Texas Tech. Borden played a year at Junior College Kilgore where he caught 11 passes for 181 yards and 4 TDs this season in 11 games on his way to earning 2nd Team All-SWJCFC (SouthWest Junior College Football Conference) honors. At the December 1st JUCO Brazos Valley Bowl Borden caught a 5 yard TD pass in Kilgore’s 47-36 loss to Northwest Mississippi Community College.
