The following new rules were announced for the X Division during Impact Wrestling:
- 230 lb. weight limit.
- Every title match will be a Triple Threat Match.
- Whoever gets pinned or submitted in each title match will be eliminated from contention in the next title match.
- Whoever does not get pinned or submitted will be part of the next title match, along with a new contender.
- A new contender will be crowned in a Triple Threat match with the loser of the previous Title match and 2 new potential contenders.
