Report: Impact Wrestling not scheduled at Universal Studios

According to a report by Mike Johnson, TNA has no plans to return to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida to tape Impact Wrestling in the next few months. Sources state that all of the sound stages at Universal Studios have been booked for the rest of 2014.

What makes this interesting is that TNA had promoted Orlando as the new hub for the launch of the “Impact 365” campaign touting that Universal Studios would be hosting a training center for future talent. That no longer appears to be the case.

The company filmed many episodes of Impact in a smaller sound stage in Orlando to close out 2013 as the final taping will air next week on Thursday. Going forward the company will be taping Impact episodes on 1/16 in Huntsville including the “Genesis” special. The UK tour kicks off 1/30 in Glasgow with additional dates in Manchester (1/31), London (2/1) and Birmingham (2/2). The company will be taping multiple episodes of Impact during the UK tour. Beyond that, only live events have been announced through February. So it would appear that TNA will be forced to figure out a plan for television tapings following the UK tour as Universal Studios will not be available to them in 2014 according to reports.
