TNA television deal with Spike TV expiring this October

With TNA announcing a new television deal with Challenge TV in the UK today, TNA’s next big negotiation comes with Spike TV as the current deal expires this October. According to a report by Mike Johnson, there is said to be some within the company worried about the potential of WWE moving programming to Spike TV with rights fees in play this year for both RAW and Smackdown. The goal between TNA and Spike TV (Viacom) was to grow the weekly Impact Wrestling audience to two million viewers a week. That didn’t end up happening in 2013 as viewers were down overall making negotiations interesting.
