Update on TNA and Spike TV, British Boot Camp note

As of early June, nothing remains new regarding TNA and Spike TV coming to terms on a new television agreement. As reported on earlier, TNA’s current deal with Spike expires this October. A new report by Dave Meltzer has revealed that other wrestling outlets have made pitches to Spike for potential TV deals. One of them isn’t Jeff Jarrett’s new Global Force Wrestling as one of his deals with TNA when leaving was he wouldn’t go to Spike to work out a television deal. TNA on average brings in 1 million viewers per week to Spike in the current Thursday time slot and the belief is that it would take a lot of time for another wrestling outlet to bring in those kind of viewers.

British Sky Broadcasting Group is also in talks with TNA about producing a second season of “British Boot Camp.” The first season ran in early January 2013 and featured current roster member Rockstar Spud as the winner. TNA broadcaster Jeremy Borash was scouting potential talent for the show at recent Revolution Pro and Preston City Wrestling events in the UK if a deal is reached to produce a second season.
