Update on Eddie Edwards injury, surgery is now expected

Eddie Edwards ended up suffering a confirmed broken heel during a match taped for the TNA “One Night Only X-travaganza” PPV on Sunday in Orlando. Edwards suffered the injury in a match with his tag team partner Davey Richards while attempting a backflip off the ring apron. His foot was described as giving out when he landed.

The recovery time for Edwards isn’t known at this time, but he is believed to be out for a significant amount of time including surgery. The injury comes just as Edwards and his tag team partner Richards took part in becoming the new TNA Tag Team Champions at the UK tapings set to air in the coming weeks on Destination America (airing 3/6).

TNA wraps up PPV tapings this afternoon and evening in Orlando. The company then returns to Orlando on 3/13, 3/14, 3/15 and 3/16 for Impact Wrestling tapings.
